Thanks. Oh wow -- was that trim about 3 ft off the top? Please let us know how they did next spring. (We're about to do the same with our 20 yr. old arborvitaes, or maybe gradually.)
Literally doing mine this coming Tuesday. i put it off too long but if i don't do it i fear this winter after how much the snow impacted them last winter, i will be left with one completely down. How do yours look now? i noticed you topped quite a bit so im hoping to see that they are good to go and growing back nicely?

Yes 3’ I wish I would’ve taken an extra 1’ off.
The best time to top arbs is in the late fall before winter lol 😅

Still looks exactly as it was in the winter. Everything is good. I’m wishing I took an extra foot or two off though.
Great job. How old are the arborvitae?thx
Planted in 1990
We trimmed ours now all getting brown. Is it cuz of trimming or lack of water or both ?
Did you cut it in the summer? I trimmed a smaller arborvitae bush on the side of my house two weeks ago and it did turn brown.
What kind of arborvitae are these?

Will they eventually retain their cone shape top?
No
Tell the dude at the end to pull up his damn pants
