Same here, I am starting in Kansas area, for me it will be about 6 months a year I am going to have to look for something during winter, but you also have helped me a lot with quotes and how to. So thank you so much, God bless you.
Gotta remember…you are not your customer. You know/have what the customer does not know/have. And that means there’s value in what you do. Don’t talk yourself out of selling your value underpriced!
So true bro. I am on day three on some basic shrub trimming and it's alot more then it looks MOST DEF. You have been my angel in my new business. I closed my first commercial bid qith great profit because I watched a video of you doing a quote on bushes and shrubs
When you learn to get out your own way the opportunities are endless. Keith kelfas. We will see quotes from this man in the future. God gave you a gift. A gift of being able to retain so much information and have the will to teach others what they cant see right in front of them.
Everytime you speak on charging a customer too little for a job , I have to say ; amen brother . Been there more times than I care to remember ! Great inspiration as usual !
Most definitely experience is your best teacher. When you offer professional services, the price is going to sting. Just not forever. Thanks for the video!
Looks a lot like a job i did last year. $1500 2 days solo. It's not "just trimming" imo. It's hard and a bit dangerous work especially up and down the ladder using a stihl pole hedge trimmer. This year I'd charge even more.
I don't sell jobs, I educate jobs. . . If You really break down the what, how, why, and the why nots... the price will make sense to the customer. Verbal, then itemized. This takes more time, and it's not fun at 815pm after 10 hours of labor but when I try and shortcut on educating I regret it later because I'll under price myself if I try and rush through it. Not only am I helping the customer understand the cost. It helps me understand how much it will actually costs lol
I appreciate your advice and all these videos You have helped me so much and I try to pass on the knowledge as my way of paying it forward again thank you
Brother you are the reason why I started my own business and am very happy and proud of my self I happy the day I came across you profile may God keep blessing you brother I have learned so much from you
Wow!! Hit the nail on the head!!! Great video!! I have always said that paying attention isn't just watching where you are going but where you've been. People get tired of hearing me say that Now I'm just going to send them to this video when they complain!!!! Nice Job
I’ll be launching soon friend. By “buying a f-king shovel, and knocking on doors”. I’ve been watching you for a long while now. And you have inspired the entrepreneurial spirit in me. BTW, the last part is pure gold
Wow 1,200 a day that’s a good amount Kieth. I started last late last season and charged $350 one day solo for a days labor weed trimming and mowing for a commercial site. I’ve learned so much from your channel thanks for sharing! “Squirrel” oh no bird haha you’re the man. I’ve lost my hat on a few jobs and learned the hard way how to price services. I’m still trying to determine pricing as I go.
I love how the way he thinks about pricing isn't exclusively for landscaping. Cleanup costs almost always seem to be an afterthought and then you regret it later for taking longer than you thought.
yeah man, you definitely made sense in this video. That is a lot of physical work even with the right equipment. Here is an interesting thing. If it cost you $300 a day to run your business. Not working and making zero puts a person -$300. Making $250 for the day reduces that to -$50. I choose to do those types of reduced jobs as little as possible and usually do them for special people, family and friends. But never over real paying work.
I'm with you communication is key factor that way the customer have expectation of the magnitude of the job. But the price will be different for everyone else depending where you are personally do define your per hour rate, factors like experience, location, demand and overhead will determine the price and most of us are in different levels
well Keith that's what I do every day, the sizing should be recommended as the shrub get over 16' feet the tree becomes a tree, in time the bottom privacy will dye of, so sizing is very important, and remember you can't trim shrubs before June because of the nesting of birds LAWS
It's always best to itemize the job. Break it down, so the customer can specify exactly what they want done. Without that either you or the customer is likely going to feel cheated.
I categorize it "beating the bushes back" or "laser straight" and "the texas chainsaw massacre" I'd be pretty happy to top, trim and remove debris for 20$ a linear foot on that one
Started my own landscape company in Florida a couple months ago, my old boss that taught me everything runs a very successful landscape business and sub contracts me almost all my work. Wanted to know what’s is your best tip to get your own customers and clientele, I’ve got pretty good connections and word of mouth already with head honchos of builders of massive subdivisions but haven’t got calls from my own people my own customers that I got fresh under my company name .
@@iplaycod056 These were second time clients, I fell disappointed, I waited to collect the final payment when the job was done . 1 about one extra month.
My dream is to be a landscaper in Florida and you help me a lot with these videos thanks so much
That's super awesome.

Beautifully done
His videos are like a meme of, when you go and ask your dad a simple question and you leave without an answer but as a changed man lol.
You are the man!
Thanks man. I'm just a Landscaper with a camera.
@@keith-kalfas You are much more.
Those shrubs look great man you generally get what you pay for right.
Gotta get the Hasegawa orchard ladders Keith. They are a must for safety.

Good knowledge bro ty great advice
If i did hedges, these would be the most expensive for sure. Might pass on those....
We charge about $125 per arborviete or Leyland cypress
well Keith that's what I do every day, the sizing should be recommended as the shrub get over 16' feet the tree becomes a tree, in time the bottom privacy will dye of, so sizing is very important, and remember you can't trim shrubs before June because of the nesting of birds LAWS
Way to go!
Thank You Man!!!!!!!!!!;;
That Stihl trimmer makes me get shoulder surgery every time
Charged $500 for 1st tree job, took 6 hrs by myself. Would like to do more but dont know how to i guess advertise myself as a smalltime tree guy lol
Nice

Never did arborvitae atleast not yet. But I have underestimated the size of hemlock shrubs.....had to borrow a bucket truck. Always measure guys 👍
Wait...you'd do that for 1200...come on man raise them prices 🙌
Not gonna lie, sometimes on jobs I'm like man what would Keith charge!
1800$ would be my quote if they didn’t take it I wouldn’t do it
Worst feeling when you do a poor quote is doing extra work for free.
I like Kalfas. Keith I hope you already know it but your surname Kalfas means gardening bucket in Czech. Take care buddy
Bohemia Czechoslovakia

First God always first and then Start with business cards and Google page customers reviews
ADVERTISE!!!!!!!
how to emerald green arborvitae grow 26 feet high? everyone ive read online says they grow 15ft max
What shovel should I buy? Transfer or dig? It trench? Or edger? Best all around a?
weird that they chose emerald. Better off with green giant of pyramid.
Change a lot !! 🏴☠️
I love my low overhead lol if I charged 3 k I wouldn't have to work 2 weeks lol
Look at all that rock ...hahah oh man
Tim McGraw is landscaping now?
hey keith
Well do they want cosmetic or full on renovation? There's a reputation to uphold and standards..
What algorithm does one use to figure out what it cost per day to run their business?
I should make a video about it
I love you
Exactly
At 38 seconds ima say bout 2k just from glancing
How much for 5-6 of them? Same height?
My guess 100 bucks each
Brother !!!i totally missed an Appointment with the client, they are really upset what should I do?
Tell them you couldn’t make it it not the end of the world make a new appointment and go this time
@@iplaycod056 These were second time clients, I fell disappointed, I waited to collect the final payment when the job was done . 1 about one extra month.
