PRINCE LOTOR'S RETURN - Haggar's Endgame Battle | Voltron: Legendary Defender Theory

- It's been strongly hinted that Lotor will return in Voltron: Legendary Defender season eight. Ezor and Zethrid brought up the possibility of Lotor surviving the Rift fight from season six since Voltron did. Along with this there is the new Voltron Coalition Handbook in which Lotor writes a letter at the end saying that'll he'll return to crush Voltron and its Paladins. In the episode 'The Feud' Queen Luxia's kingdom was shown at the end of the episode with creepy music playing. Luxia's kingdom is where some Rift creatures are. It foreshadowed their return in Voltron's final season. Lotor's going to emerge from the Rift all quintessence mad; he's been corrupted by the creatures like Zarkon and Honerva were. It will become a fight of the Alteans, those we love and hate and those from the Altean colony. A battle for all realities and life itself between Allura, Lotor, and Honerva.

It would make more sense that Honerva convinced the colonized Alteans that Voltron killed/destroyed Lotor (you know, their cherished savior?) and thus had plenty of fuel for the brand-new raging Altean fire of hatred for Voltron.
Wait. Daken's clothes look alot similar to Keith's space mall costume. Not only that, I think jds said something like "it's shiros turn to save Keith"

So I have a theory I don’t really like it but I find it interesting. So by 8:17-8:43 it says that the plants are the rift creatures and it can mind control the person that eats it. So the mermaids might become evil again because it might be still in them. You know who else ate the plant Hunk. And in the episodes were the paladins are separated to different planets gave a lot of foreshadowing like Keith being leader and shiro stepping down. So what if hunk and lance has to fight for some reason it could give us some flashbacks like how the fight were Keith and shiro had to fight. But it could also be pidge since they are also best friends. But the rift creature still being inside of hunk is unlikely.

Once again I just clicked on the video because I saw Lotor😍. Why in the heck dont they have action figure toys of him and Allura yet? I also love Haggar's new design.

If we were to see Lotor again it would possibly be some kind of a distant future thing. Because team Voltron disappeared for 3 years during that battle with Lotor because they were jumping in and of the rift and luckily escaped. But Lotor was trapped there.
And we now know that time passes faster while in the rift. Since Lotor spent a longer time in the rift, he could've found a way out and returned. But in the distant future. And because he spent a longer time in the rift he's probably this super, over powered, crazy being now and he easily takes control over the known galaxy like his father and mother did. Possibly destroying Voltron as well.
As result of this, someone travels back in time to warn them of the coming destruction from Lotor. Possibly a new paladin or one of the old ones. Since it's the distant future they've probably figured out how to utilize quintessents for time travel by now. But I'm getting ahead of myself. That could be another whole season right there.
Anyway, the next season is definitely going to be focused more on Honerva/Haggar as the main protagonist villain this time. Whether or not we'll see Lotor again, because Honerva still has feelings for him as her son, blames Voltron for his death or disappearance, and is now using any all means necessary to either exact revenge or to bring him back from the rift, is something we're all gonna have to wait for. But its highly likely that's how its gonna go down.
Either way, they're all pretty damn good theories for another awesome season, possibly more seasons, of Voltron!

Why is no one taking into account the fact that in the same scene where Honerva learns of the colony, she also learns that Keith is part Galra? We know she's a master manipulator and since she also saw Krolia with the team plus the fact that she wants revenge for what happened to Lotor, I think she might just target Keith specifically, putting Krolia and the others through the same pain she's feeling.
Personally, I think Lotor survived but I also doubt Lotor will want ALL of Voltron destroyed. I think he'll resort to attempted kidnapping like in the original. After all, Allura has the power of the white lion. However, I also think that Lotor will sacrifice himself to defeat the creatures in the Rift as I agree they will be the final antagonists and I think his feelings for Allura were serious.
As for Romelle, I agree that Haggar will try to use her but I don't think it will be in a way we've seen before. We've already seen Haggar resort to brainwashing and manipulation. However, what we haven't seen her do is blackmail someone...and what better way to blackmail Romelle than to feed her a lie about her brother whom she desperately misses?
I’m worried about all the aliens now living on earth. It reminds me of the CW super girl drama. In season two of that show they focused on how some humans didn’t trust the aliens and wanted them off our planet.
What?! They are allies of Voltron they are not there to stay for a long time, there is a war to win.
I'm just saying it could happen. They don't know what haggar is doing right now as far as the paladins know she's out of the picture. It might be an early plot point in the last season with people adjusting to all the aliens.

Good to know I'M not the only one who can see a kinda redemption arc for Honerva.The backstory they come up with for her, with the real villains- the rift creatures, bot ZArkon and Haggar became a likable -but corrupted character, instead of a cliche villain.

Can Haggar still see through Shiro?
The Whisperer of Death No because she was controlling him through his old galra made arm, since Keith cut it off when he was battling clone Shiro, Hagar can’t control him anymore. Lauren and Josh (I think that’s his name...?) have confirmed this.

Controlling, sure. But I don't think that's all there is to it... I still reckon she can still see through him.
And anyway, if it was just the arm, remember that it was still attached for most of the season. Keith didn't cut ALL of it off. There was still that shoulder bit.
I'm mainly theorizing this because of the Altean showing up... at the convenient time that Sandak was defeated.
The timing there was just... too perfect.
Since Team Voltron traveled into the future, is it possible that Lotor traveled back to the past? There are two time-related episodes I can think of: In season 6, the part of space Keith and Krolia explored to find the new unknown source of quintessence flashed images of the past and the future. Another instance asides that is season 2 (?) where Allura and Koran were stuck in a time loop that de-aged Koran into a baby. He could've been plotting something centuries in the making before Team Voltron was even born!

I can definitely see Lotor coming back, and Haggerva will almost certainly be involved in the last season, but I'm not entirely convinced about Rift creatures playing a large role. It could happen, but it's getting kind of late for that type of development.
You know if zarkon did end up being the big bad you at the end of the series it would've been different

another thing. If they do show that some humans don't trust the aliens it would be a very clever way for the creators to tackle the topic of race again. Just a though, but it would be cool if they did do that.

I don't think that season 8 will be the last season, theres still to much that needs to happen, also I feel like season 8 will mostly be talking, so unless season 8 is 20 eps, there should be at lest 2 more seasons. and am I there only one that trusted Lotor?
