Thank you very much for the video. I will probably have a mechanic do it, but this gives me advance knowledge of how long it should take so I won't be taken for a ride. Thanks again.
An idea would be to mark the coolant hose and thermo housing somewhere so when you change in the new one you could line it up to the new thermostat and do it top side.
D Meadows, I did exactly that... There are two stop tabs on the thermostat hose bib, one on top, one on the bottom. I made two marks, one on either side of the top tab and was able to clamp the hose while up at the top and put the thermostat in with no problems... On my 2016 G Caravan the space is a little tighter, so it was much easier to do it that way. About 20-25 minutes tops. (I didn't push the catch basin far enough under the car though...).
@@Rosman1974 - Try looking under coil pack. May have to remove that to get to sensor. If it's an older model (2000~2005?) it's behind thermostat under the coil pack.
@@JL-gg7ph lol.. You know it turned out to be something else. I just dropped it off at the shop and left the keys under his door. Hopefully they can diagnose it by Saturday.

did the check engine light turned off after replacing the thermostat ?
I don’t remember. I usually turn it off with the reader/scanner instead of waiting. But it should eventually turn itself off.
I heard that Dodge has a TSB about the thermostat needing a shim. Have you heard the same or did you shim yours?
I didn’t add a shim
Dealer part or after market t-stat? I tend to go with dealer oem for parts like that.
Hi William. Thanks for the video. Do you know where the coolant temperature sensor is? I believe that might be my problem.
You're welcome. Try on top, back right. Should be brass colored. Might have to take off plastic shield on top
Same concern here. I replaced the thermostat but check engine light came on again. I have a P0128 code.

What about the check engine light how do I reset it?
I don’t remember if it turned off by itself but I also have a code reader that I may have used to turn off light.
unhook the battery, wait 5 min, then hook up again.
Auto parts store will do it for free.
What type of coolant do you use?
I was gonna try and replace it but the weather is cold and I know a mechanic that will do it cheap so I'm gonna pass on it. Thanks for the video!
