Wow, that clutch mechanism was really frozen in place. Some light buffing of the outside of the rear bearing would be all it needs to fix it. But he is also missing the pinion bushing.

@@ruthlesstruthful thanks! Check the line roller bearing first, then you can check the bearings along the shaft and then the shaft to see if it's bent. You can also check for a damaged rotor, but it'll likely be one of the three aforementioned.
@@TSGReelService thanks, it was the roller bearing from new out of the box so hoping it's not the same issue. The bail arm assembly was replaced that time as a result Penn sent the arm containing line roller bearing etc

I've tested a few of these reels from new and all have a stiffness unlike the older models , not what they used to be
