In 2009, I came home from a deployment and my oldest son, who was 3 or 4 at the time, wouldn’t eat for almost 2 weeks...
Being a father I was obviously concerned, so I asked him about it and his answer really hit me hard… He said, “Dad, if I eat I’ll grow up and if I grow up I’ll become a daddy.
And if I become a daddy, I’ll have to leave my family.” My boys barely knew who I was and I couldn’t let them
    grow up without a father...
I realized at that moment my family needed me a lot more than the Navy needed another SEAL. So I put in for retirement the next day…
Back then I knew I wanted to be with my family more than anything, so I made changes in my life that allowed me to be at home.
We all want more time to spend with the people we love or doing the things we love. That’s why I’m here to help!

God bless and thank you for all of your sacrifices made for our country. I hope retirement is what you and your family needed, and when you kids get older and learn to understand where and what you were doing they will have more love and respect than most kids have for their parents

Thank you for stressing safety. It can be over looked so easily and safety is #1 before anything else. Great video.

Thanks to you, my dry fire training has improved my shooting, and I understand the WHY behind the WHAT. (I'm that kind of thinker anyway, but as someone who came to shooting later in life, this kind of knowledge is GOLD.) Thank you again.

Great stuff sir! As a side note-you misspelled "yourself" in number 6-practicing situational awareness! :) GOD BLESS!

Thanks, Chris, I was dry firing but I was much less disciplined and much less focused until I found this video. I printed the rules out (moving Rule 4 up to Rule 1) and have had four sessions since. I am setting goals and writing down results. This is much more enjoyable.

Great video, Chris. This is probably the most useful video on firearm manipulation and dry fire I’ve seen.

Great advice! Dry fire practice (especially Chris Sajnog's advice on grip) has been the key to my improvements at the range. Can't wait to put these into practice.

    Awesome training Coach.
I would never have the time or money to train if
it wasn't for dry fire training. If a person is serious about dry fire training
    they will see results.
    Much respect, Coach

You may think he's overdoing it about having all the ammo out of the room, and double checking your guns and repeating the "I'm dry fire training" phrase but he's not.

I’ll show my ignorance but I thought dry firing wasn’t good for the firing pin. Why, I have no idea. Another question, I understand dry firing can help muscle memory, practice looking and focusing on your sites and a few other things. What I don’t understand is since I’m not actually firing and hitting a target then how do I know I’m doing it right?

    • @grazianism
      @grazianism 3 ปีที่แล้ว

You should use snapcaps or dummy rounds to prevent damaging the firing pin.
It's like japanese archery. Japanese archers are more focused to perform perfecty all the needed drills than hitting the bullseye dead center. That's because perfectly executed drill leads naturally to hitting the target.
If your drills are properly executed, from the holster draw, hand position, sights alignment, the way you pull the trigger etc... it's 99% probably you're gonna a good, consistent and tight groups.

Off subject but I see this in every video. What’s up with the frog skeleton on the silver plate that you have hanging on the wall? My eyes keep drifting to it. 😂😂

Too much general advice. If you make a video on dry cooking or dry driving, the same rules apply. Suppose I want to learn how to drive, I will certainly want to learn my theory first, but not "drive safe", "put your cellphone off" and then NOTHING????
