    My daughter is also clumsy...and tho' it may seem like a negative word, it was the absolute truth about her when she was growing up. Very nice tutorial. I had forgotten about using freezer paper for this. Thanks for the reminder!

    I used this when I made Christmas shirts. I used this to paint the tree on the shirt, then used small paint bottles to make ornaments, lights and garland with puffy paints.

    This is so cool! I have never thought of using freezer paper in crafts, had no idea it was so popular! Me and my friends have a funny/sick sense of humor too 😂 it’s just our thing! I like that she wanted a shirt for herself that said clumsy, means she can laugh at herself! If you’re not willing to laugh at yourself then you better not be laughing at all! • @monicaeggleton4510

    I had to laugh at your written instructions:” I recommend that you watch your shirt.....” I know it was one of those weird corrections that are made for you, but I can visualize watching your shirt when it is being washed by itself on the first time. You know how children can be about wearing a specific item, and they do watch and wait until it is washed! Great instruction!

      Monica Eggleton hi there im living in cyprus europe and reynolds freezer paper is not available not even with amazon so is there any other name of iy. Or any other alternative. Cheers 🇨🇾 💚

    • @Tippel3
      @Tippel3 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      you just need one that has a light waxy-type of coating on one side, often it's a silicone. It's not like a wax paper has (that would make grease stains) and it's usually just the "not-sticky-side" you put onto your food when you freeze it. But when you heat it with the iron, instead of freezing it, this coat will melt and give you a light "stickyness".
      If you can't find such paper, just look for sticky/adhesive spray in the section where the fabric paint is.
      You can buy adhesive spray to stick stencils on walls and even to stick them on fabric. But make sure to follow the instructions, you maybe don't need to heat it! Just make your stencil, spray the adhesive on the backside of it and place it where you like it and press it slightly on the fabric or what the instruction tells you to do. Then folllow the painting/stippling instructions from the video

    • @thefrugalcrafter

    Hi Lindsay I'm getting ready to do this for 12 Tshirts & using Speedball fabric paint for screen printing. I saw other utubers say to heat set with an iron & pressing paper or silicone mat to protect iron, after 72 hours so it holds up thru the wash. Then do not wash til after 5 days. What is your experience on the heatsetting & dry time with Speedball?

    • @thefrugalcrafter
      @thefrugalcrafter  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I always recommend heat setting. I reckon they recommend the 5 days to make sure in any climate the ink deep in the fabric has dried completely. Can you test on a scrap?

      I heard that if you iron it after it is dry, of course with a sheet of paper upon the design, it will resist washing.
      I confess I didn't try it, but someone who paints clothes does it. You could give it a try...
      Good luck!

    • @sueclark8896
      @sueclark8896 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting Chris. I'll look into that. I paint in acrylic, not even familiar with fabric paint. I suppose they are two different beasts...lol. acrylic is basically plastic which is why I say air dry. Otherwise the risk of cracking & fading & possibly chiping all that will happen. Guess if I had a really cool design, I'd like to preserve it. ♡

      Cut the inner hole first out then the rest of the letter. After that you just need to place the inner circle you have cut out first in the empty letter and iron it on. You could also do like a military style stencil just Google it you will know what I mean by just looking at pictures.
