💫First of all the subject is Radiation Oncology and not radiotherapy.
🎯The subject of radiation onology is a challenging and interesting subject and it needs to be taken with utmost interest and passion,
🎯If you are thinking of Radiation oncology as an option just becoz you think its clinical and you have no other choice then please do not take it
🎯As the subject is very hard to learn and you are expected to be a core oncologist with deep and authentic knowlwdge in managing any malignancy ina human body! that needs extreme dedication and learning.
🎯Ifyou are pretty sure tha your intrests lie in Oncology then feel free to pursue Ro but the real deal is to study in institutes like AIIMS, JIPMER, PGI, TMH, KIDWAI, Adayar canceer Institute, RCC trivandrum, GCRI etc try to get into these institutes and study Ro.
Because many Medical college specially in UP don’t have proper machine facilities for Radiation training like Linac and Brachytherapy machine

4) Difficult to run own setup becouse of huge amount Investment
5) Difficult to Run own OpDs
Pros !;
1) Satisfactory Branch (you treat curable patients or make Quality of cancer patients better by Radiation
2) It’ is huge branch In which you do OPDs , IPDs as well as OT procedures for brachytherapy
3) No as such Night duty or emergencies untill unless u admit patients under you .
4) Fixed hours job 9-5 or 8hours If you do in shift duty
5)After Beings Seniors like In 50s you start getting good salary packages.

Mam actually interest is something if i had explored these branches before. But there is no exploration in any of the branches. mam, because as a mbbs doctor, i just know the branches superficially and i don't the broader aspects of both. My brother did MD Radiotherapy and is regretting it. Job opportunities are very less and salaries are also low because of saturation.
