Thank you sir u have given the best advice ever. Like always agony aunt! 😘
Much need video at this point
This is one of the best video about Ms/MD Vs DNB thank you sir for helping many aspirants who are under confusion at this point of time
I chose to DNB (Pediatrics) in 1993 while it was not very popular like now. I did that in PSG Institute of Medical sciences & Research(Coimbatore )when only MBBS students were there., ours was the very first batch of DNB students in that institution. Luckily for me we had good professors and also the opportunity to teach (to MBBS ) students helped me in preparation for otherwise very tough exam. After having cleared theory in very first attempt, I took extra training in Institute of child health (Chennai), which helped me immensely in clearing the Clinics at AIIMS, New Delhi. After few years of practice -I got an opportunity to train at NYU , New York and the experience in DNB has helped me immensely to get certified by American Board of Pediatrics. As an Associate Professor at a state university in USA, when I look back -I have fond memories of my DNB training . In my opinion it’s at par with MD Pediatrics and is highly valued in west ‘ Middle East as well. My advice to youngsters is to take DNB in your field of interest and you will be glad that you chose it. All the very best in all future endeavors.
Sir does NYU give such opportunities even now? What post do we have to apply for?
@@junior29557 Take USMLE steps and apply for residency, that’s what I did !
Excellent explanation
Thank you sir
I was also passionate about usmle but because of some personal reasons i will have to take up residency here, and i want to do in general surgery so if i want to do fellowship in usa? Do i have same procedure of doing usmle steps & interviews? I will be very grateful to know details
I am a physician and accidentally came upon this video after clicking a link in a doctors group. I watched the entire video and would like to appreciate you wholeheartedly for the effort you have taken. This will be useful for many who are caught in the perpetual dilemma of MD Vs DNB. Great work Doctor 👍👍
Thank you 🙏🏼
Demystified all myths !
Amazing video with zero bias 👌🏻
Thanks

Absolutely! 💙🐢
Very very balanced opinion about the degrees and excellent way of explaination shows how excellent teacher you have been 🙏
Thanks for sharing. We the family members of the aspirants also need to know these things.
I watched it at 0.75x wid my dad. Can't thank you enough for the more than enough energy you put in for turtles like us. It feels good to have a mentor sir. Thank you. We need u.
Thank you and best wishes to you and your dad
U have been a great guider for all of us everytym sir...thankq soo much!
Thank you so much sir for clearing all doubts..🥰💐 The last line is something I always keep saying to myself and others. With MD ms DNB or diploma whatever it is we r going to add something not losing.🎊🎉
All the best
very useful n clarifies many doubts n makes one confident about his decision
One of the most important videos we ever need.
A highly motivational speech to young aspirants.
As you said sir, it's all depends on under whom you are a resident and your dedication for branch... Not degree, not Institute nor hospital...
Eagerly waiting for this... Thank you sir for giving us the genuine insight... 😊🙏
All the best
Thank you so much sir ,
This was very much clear & Crisp,
Clearing all my doubts 😊
best wishes
Excellently explained sir. Just missing part is Post MBBS DNB & Post Diploma DNB. You missed to research that the final passing rate for Post MBBS DNB is very low in paediatrics, orthopedics and Radio Diagnosis etc. 80% Instutes having 0% passing rate in Post MBBS DNB Radio Diagnosis exam( please search on Dec 2020 batch result for primary DNB). OSCE exam was easy in the first 2 exam but now it's again tough with few changes like less time for a question(4 against 5 min before), less marks ( 6 marks for a question against 8 marks before), negative marking ( Hanging question) and no use of pen and paper to write-frame short/long cases, directly starting hot sheet type viva has reduced the passing rate for the post MBBS DNB significantly than Post Diploma DNB. And over all passing rate is high of course because of central counseling NEET candidates of top rankers but it is more because of Sec DNB and Post MD/MS candidates not because of Post MBBS DNB candidates. NBE getting no fund from govt and it survive on EXAM FEE so they opt the mode so that maximum candidates fail in first attempt. For your information I give example out of 7 paediatrics all failed in Dec 2020 batch from Deenanth Mangeshkar Hospital ,pune which is excellent >1000 beded Trust hospital. Another example is of Radio Diagnosis of this hospital 2 consecutive batch primary DNB failed in the first attempt but Sec DNB passed. So plz check urself for primary DNB as you are better researcher than me. There is NIL academics in DNB course in 90% of institutes,of course hands on training and other things are there as you told is correct. Thanks sir.
That’s a good point, they should separately mention pass rates for primary vs secondary dnb
This is the most important thing. Whats the point if dnb is equal to md when you can never clear dnb
People really ignore this part, you can’t have the degree if you don’t pass and you will be just mbbs.
In MD if you fail one time still you will be passed in 2nd attempt, not like dnb
Extremely well articulated points .
Thank u sir for a reassuring session AGAIN😁 .We shall always be grateful for this work of urs. 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks
Agreed sir. However, clinical cases in DNB are atypical & findings dont make sense to a candidate who have not regularly seen complicated cases. This time 17% was pass rate in theory & that’s terrible for ORTHO. In PGI also, we are not taught and on the contrary, jipmer is superbly academic. Learning is not spoon fed but nil effort from institute makes it look even worse. But love the OBJECTIVE Pattern of DNB exam.
Sir can you please start motivational videos for USMLE also , I really like the way you inspire. It’ll be very grateful to hear regarding NRMP, how to boost percentile in exams , interview preparations , ERAS application from your side. Your teaching in orthopaedics really helpful in USMLE also.
Thanks you very much Sir.I am an parent and relieved from your DNB information. Thanks once again 🙏.
I am a parent and your video is very insightful. Your service is a service to the society
Thank you 🙏🏼 hope you find the guidance for your child.
Thankyou Dr. Abbas Ali, for making such an informative video.... You have addressed all the issues of young doctors looking forward to pursue higher studies. Best wishes

Last question cleared all my doubts... 🙏🙏
Thank you so much sir for clearing so many unasked questions really which are soooo helpful ..thank you
Thank you sir... Could not hv got any better explanation than this 😇😇
I was just staring at you, your way of mass communication is awesome. 👍👍
I did my MD from a good govt institution. Its not like somebody will teach you there everything. But we used to have weekly thrice seminars and discussions for one hour in morning before op started. That is its not zero academics in Govt colleges. Best part about govt colleges are u get to deal with ur patients from the very first day you join. U see patients, when i have doubts, u ask about what to do next for that patients to ur professors. Thats how u learn to manage. Howmuch ever u study on paper, once u pass out, ur confidence comes with treating more and more patients, decide the plan of treatment urself. For that as MD/MS u get more individual oppurtunities. If u cannot get Ur desired MD/MS in a good college, then only go for DNB.
Perfectly elaborated 💯
Glad you think so!
Thank you so much sir for thrashing all the myths and negativities 🙌
Always welcome

Sir, I'm a huge fan of your videos. Sir I'm about to finish my final year, a lot of people tell me cracking neet while doing internship will be extremely difficult and have said multiple confusing things about how to prepare. How should one prepare during internship sir. I'm from an average private medical college sir, I started using marrow from final year. I would be grateful if you can give a clear cut strategy for preparation during internship sir
Awesome thank you so much... This topic is not talked about much.
Hopefully it will help
Sir I am from Gujarat and pursuing mbbs in rajasthan. For me the main attractive thing about dnb is the fees the amount of fees in dnb course is actually less then 5 lacs per annum but the other side in rajasthan if you want to do a md the fees starts from 15 to 20 lacs per anum. In government colleges the fees are low but we all can't get admission in government.
Thankyou sir nd Hope you’ll make a video abt “orthopaedics as a career “ too. 😍
its the best ....
It was really helpful sir!💯
Quite informative and helpful sir, just like your lectures.
Crystal clear ❤️
Being a non EWS general, I would gladly go for DNB 🤞🏻
Doing DNB ortho in a corporate hospital. Got trained on skill development center of hospital before doing procedures. Once trained, they gave chances under supervision and for assisting. My 3rd year seniors are getting single chances in emergency cases now. The smooth introduction into surgical field was a real confidence booster for me. 👍🏿
Best thing learning how the networking and marketing ourselves work in the field. Didn't know about this aspect of medicine in medical College
Thanks for sharing
May I ask u a question sir....in which hospital u r doing your DNB sir...?
@@VishalSingh-yo4ex Ortho, Mims Calicut
How do you "market yourself" in this field?
@@MsAldil You need to learn it by seeing first hand. There's so many things. Like, making satisfied patients share the experience in social media, sending a personalized thanking mail discussing case details to every reference, conducting get togethers of trauma victims, making famous YT channels do videos on inspirational patients and showing your face in the video, even paying IT firms to make your name as top Google result for "best orthopaedic of the town" and many more .. these are done only by corporate docs. And it's an integral part of becoming a famous and financially successful doctor in private set-up.
Wonderful descriptions sir

Great video sir and it’s completely true.
There are many good hospitals/institutes with good case load and academics . Such institutes r better than many peripheral colleges with MD. have completed my
DNB General medicine in one such institute.
