Also, When you are on the back side of a hill, such as exhibit 1, it is harder for Artillery to kill you due to its area of fire. As the gradient going down increase the effective area of the artillery piece hitting, so you have a greater chance of not getting hit. Therefore the bigger the hill's gradient the less likely you will get killed by artillery coming from the other side. It is another story with a mortar due to its arch of fire, but even the biggest gradients decrease the chances of being hit.
Is there way to change appearance of interface and unit icons ? I got GOTY edition of this game and I don't see flag icon over my units nor do they turn blue when zooming out. The interface looks much better in this video. Any mods being used ?
I'm guessing that Elite riflemen squad would be ideal for hilly areas. Lots of grenades and accurate rifles allow them to one shot everything that comes over. Also, remember that if you don't have a technical superiority in terms of tanks and other. The best place to trade infantry is the hilly parts of the map. I had a lot of experience in hill combat. As for the farmland hill... the proper way to approach it as a defender once it is capped is from the far left edge. That edge is not in the range of AT infantry. Other ways of advancing are flamethrowers (micro) Grenade rifles, all sorts of artillery and HMG. HMG is great because it doesn't change it firing arc no matter the elevation. Instant sandbag pop is also beneficial. Also, when advancing from hill to hill it's really important to place sandbags on top of each one. Otherwise you can get stuck by infantry camping under the hill. Sandbags serve the purpose of springboard for any sort of attack. Hills in general are great for AT guns and any sort of emplacements. If not outranged the AT guns dominate because it's not possible to farshoot them. (Not all, ofcourse)
Hey I just started watching these and they're pretty good. Do you cover individual units? I always have trouble finding my medics on the field, and was wondering if you had any tips for keeping track of individual units, and spotting them on both your side and the opponents side. Thanks! Also, who do you target first? I imagine squad lead and medics would be the two primary targets? Or do you just ignore it mostly and let it play out?
oh medics are not in multiplayer, my guides are for vs mode mostly. But i do have a unit tutorial playlist where i cover units. Just check out my playlists. You can number you troops if you wish, but really I'm just used to selecting them. RE targets depends, in a multiplayer game it will usually be something of importance.. like a MG , sniper or something worth something... if there is tank to kill and i can i will do that first. The most valuable target if possible.
kk cheers, I used to do that in Sudden Strike, one guy lighting up the forward area, spotter for the pounders, cool vids, the tank angling is very good info
Well is there some way to "build" units? its really hard to see if an RTS is red alert/Company of heroes style Or some nondescript non-basebuilder game.
knerf999 short answer: no long answer: this is not like Comapny of heroes (way more realistic) and definetly not like Red alert, i suggest you watch some multiplayer videos to have a better idea
Hello, I was wondering how you get no shadow in your game whatsoever, every time I try to run the game on the lowest graphics it still gives me a shadow, how do you play without them?
Bailey Collins hmmm probaly not alone. I would post in the steam discussions about it. It could be you have a slow PC? i dunno. But also if there is anyone with a slow pc in this game it will slow down everyone.

I can't seem to find the nuclear bob. Where about is it, guys?
Can other players see a guy in a building who is set to hold fire? and act as a major LOS buff in safety?
ah yup it's quite easy to see the guy in building. But can be hard to get him out
kk cheers, I used to do that in Sudden Strike, one guy lighting up the forward area, spotter for the pounders, cool vids, the tank angling is very good info
is cover in bushes the same thing as cover anywhere else or is it less effective or...? how does it work when you take cover in bushes
Sam Hoey I think it is more concealment than cover. I could be wrong though.
Bushes will hide you but they won’t take bullets
So is there a way to replenish your units in this game?
I'm interested .
knerf999 hmmm sorry not sure what you mean? Can you give a example
