I think what Instinct is referring to are stabilisers. US tanks had primitive stabilisers but they couldn't fire on the move accurately. It was more to keep the gun on target then stop to fire.

You are a bit overblowing the "worst assault squad" card out of proportion a bit. All assault squads honestly are quite similar and being the cheapest option for regular infantry are viable.
The worst/best smg part has never been tested out actually.
Okak Okakiev Not actually, there is a huge difference in SMG. Type100 literally wins games so does the PPSH. If you compare the mp40 and thoompson then i will agree with you or the sten.. all those 3 are slight differences.
The stats speak for themselves with the above in regards to rate of fire and ammunition belt.
Though they are viable due to being cheap, the m1 garand option is fantastic. Just 1 to 2 mp more then other nations rifles but atleast 50% better
Okak Okakiev That being said in a test I haven't i guess tested under proper scientific conditions.. But the game code speaks for it self.. Also on practical use I cannot make USA assault squads work. Mr pringles cannot either, nor can any other player in the top 4. Also their alternatives are just too hard to turn down to something that could be a bad choice..
Okak Okakiev Just had another thought , I suppose none of this actually matters in any pub game . But when players are playing optimal and every little thing counts to win a battle between 2 infantry units or 3.. this can turn the tide. Maybe I am over blowing it for the general player base. But I feel it is the difference between winning the start game especially.
Okak Okakiev yep.. as a believer in USA in 1v1's, Strat is absolutely right, the smg thompson does not stand up to the type 100 smg in any way. It is utter shit compared to it. I rarely buy assault squads, opting for elite marksman with conscripts, 30 cals, and marines as my staple. Assault infantry is only ok if it is close quarters, but if I am playing a close quarter map I'd prefer UK anyways. Like all factions, USA has a lot of strenghts, and some weaknesses, the assault squad for them is a no no buy.
Is there a guide for how to aim a tank in direct control? One advantage in US is to have cheap heavy tank destroyer, but it only have one shot chance to kill tiger. There are lots of basic information about basic stuff - such as different armors in body, turret, front, side, angle ... but in the direct control mode, how do I know which spot to aim?
I'm very god damn late but if the bar with numbers on it right from the crosshair is green you can penetrate it, if its red you can't
Devil's Brigade feels weird being a US unit, since it is a US/Canadian unit.
All those videos are pretty awesome and have helped me a lot to rise from noob to mediocre. 🙂
What I am still missing is a tutorial about how to use the map editor. It's not exactly selfexplaining and I have found no manual whatsoever.

Why can't you buy all those units in skirmish modes? I think you are limited to very few units in those missions.
