If you've just purchased Men of War Assault Squad 2, congratulations, I hope this guide is useful! If you've played before, which tips would you give to a new player to help them figure out the game?
I'd definitely tell them, other than these things you've mentioned here, to always seek cover with infantry, using engineers or regular soldiers to place down barricades if necessary. Mounted guns, machineguns and mortars are extremely powerful and useful, and having a general idea of what tank can kill what is pretty useful. Generally you want to be direct controlling your tanks from max range, and hit enemy tanks from the side or rear.
@@varyagace Thank you for the additional tips! I'm still learning myself but as you've mentioned mortars reminds me how useful they are. Pretty much every time I have infantry assaulting a point I make sure they have a mortar team or two to soften them up. I'm not sure if that would be considered a good idea in general or a waste of resources but it's definitely fun!
Came to this game from Company of Heroes hoping for a slightly less arcade feeling rts. It felt like walking into an exam for a course I never took; no tutorials, nothing. Thanks for this video! Learning I could slow it way down as I figured things out has been a massive game changer.
I was exactly the same, it was a painful learning experience but ultimately very rewarding once over the learning curve so I'm glad you found it useful. Happy gaming! I'm told the Robz Realism and Valour Mods extend the shelf life of the game massively so maybe check those out after a while :)
My father recommended me this game, im really enjoying it and i got the entire game + all the dlcs for only 8 euros! I already knew most controls but watching a tutorial that isn’t 5 years old is pretty useful.
Just bought the game on sale, finished the tutorial, but still got overwhelmed. See ur vid and I suprised there is a slow down button. The game is worth it, and I've played Company of Heroes before 😊

I wish you had the quickstart guides for all of this games i bought (listed under) because this one helped me a lot. I bought Regiments, Steel Division 2 (Raid on Drvar+D-Day pack) Men of War: Assault Squad 2 (Deluxe Edition upgrade, Iron Fist, Airborne, Ostfront Veteranen, Men of War Origins DLC), Warno, Call to arms Basic (season pass), Call to Arms Gates of Hell: Ostfront. Now i have a fine number of new (old) games to play campaigns or and against versus k.i.Only games left are the ruski Broken Arrow that i hope is not a scam like the day before, Vampire the masquarade bloodlines 2 (hope not so buggy like the first), Terminator Dark fate Defiance (licensed games are mostly bad but i played demo of this and liked it), Man of War 2, Ratten Reich und gta 6. I did not hear of any other games i might be interesed to buy, no old games and no new that will be releasing soon.
I just bought mow assault squad 2, and after years of experience with the various games in the saga I realized that in this one you have to get close to the supply truck to resupply the units. However, I noticed that it doesn't work with vehicles and artillery (heavy machine guns, mortars, cannons). How does this thing work? I hope my comment is read, thanks to those who reply.
That's an interesting thought. The game is so accurate in almost every way, having some sort of surrender / prisoner mechanic would be cool, maybe put them to work which increase your man power or something!
@twiglets2 Trading prisoners mechanics would be very cool, but i think it would be very complicated in this game. Unless trading prisoners eould count as points, allowing both sides to create a huge offence or establish defence.
Great video overall ive been playing 40 hrs now and want to ask about the best way to take on tanks with at troops i find the tanks always kill them or the miss or even when they get to the side or back usually the damage is pretty much nothing

this is the dumbest game on the planet....soldiers just sit there and get shot....there's got to be SOME sort of autonomous control, how can you manually aim and fire 8 different characters at a time?
