- Will THIS Even WORK With Resin Art?! An Video by Daniel Cooper
Here is a Resin Art video of me having a play around with alcohol inks in the pva glue resin we have recently created for various uses including stopping glitter from sinking in our Resin Art.... And also making our own dipping resin with UV resin..... It's now time to see how the mix will work with petri resin art! Will it make any difference? What will happen? Let's find out 😊.

Your colors are bright and vibrant. I’ve always loved this effect. Thanks Daniel
Thanks Mike 😊 Such a great brand for inks 😊
Ditto
Absolutely beautiful
Beautiful ❤❤❤❤ I saw a parakeet face in that round one.
Beautiful pieces
I just adore you and your experiments!
I recently did a 12 oz epoxy pour with a larger amount of white pva glue to try to prevent glitter settling.
Just saw the cure this morning and it cured just the same as without glue and just as clear. So glad you inspired the action
Oh wow, how did the glitter hold up?
10:28 (the right)looks like some fantasy feathered bird. These were gorgeous.
Very very cool
😂😂 I'm glad your black spilt.I do think they always look best with the black bring out those beautiful colours 🎉
😂😂😂 you know me 😂
I love the little face in the third set! You’ve definitely still got it with the petri effect, although I didn’t doubt for a minute that you couldn’t do it! Beautiful work as always Daniel..👍❤️
Thanks so much 😊😊🥰
Daniel you have done it again. I love the experiments you do. and the colors are awesome. Thank you🤗💕💙
Thank you so much 😀
❤ very nice thank you
Very nice Daniel. They look great ❤ thanks for sharing
Thanks Maddie 😊 🫂
it does look like an anteater :) they are stunning
Thank you 😊
Ohh CLEAR GLUE? i always thought it had to be white!! Wow awesome!!
Thanks again 😊
I really enjoy watching your videos, I still have yet to try it myself
The first 2 I said wow, then when the pink one came up it was a double wow,,, the one you said had a little face,, looked like a peacock with all his feathers, I got some inks a few months ago, so will try this one out. They all look so beautiful.
Thank you
beautiful Daniel, thank you
Thanks Katie 😊
your videos are always the best. I love that you try things all the time and end up saving me sooo much money. you are a true genius.
Thanks so much, so glad they help 😊😊😊
Beautiful colors! I like the clarity in the non pva ones. Great comparison Daniel! Thanks
Thanks Linda 😊 Yes, can notice a slight difference, couldn't notice it with the glitter experiment but I saw it more watching this back whilst editing.
🎉These colors are very cool 😎
Thanks Gabrielle 😊
Very cool as always!😊
Thanks Rita 😊
Can't wait to be able to get results like yours 🎉
Thanks Tracey 😊 You will 😊😊😊😊
Wow! That last one was gorgeous! Actually, they all were stunning! Great job again!
Thanks Carol 😊
Those are so pretty.
Thank you! 😊
Another great experiment. On this occasion I like the non pva.❤
Thanks Melanie 😊
I absolutely love these😍, some of those remind me of the Van Gogh starry night painting, just with different colors. I think I just might try this way of epoxy myself, when I get time to "play " again. Thank you so much for sharing and inspiring.
Thank you 😊 I have made a Starry Night piece some time ago, it was so close but the colors were spot on 🥰
A successful journey, mate.
Thank you 😊
I do love the petri pieces you make. I haven't been brave enough to attempt it yet, as I'm very new to resin!
Thank you 😊 🙏
❤❤amazingggg❤❤ just love everything you do
Thanks so much as always 🥰🥰
WOW WOW WOW What a spectacular return to petri. Stunning pieces and loved the anteater one, mine are bad, i messing my colours up. I know I'd need to check the vid out but can't remember the number but Wow wow wow
Thanks Morag, have a scroll through the petri playlist, you will see one or two safe color vids 😊
This video and the last one were so much fun! I've missed these kinds of videos.
✌️❤️🤣 peace, love and happiness
Thanks as always 😊😊
Another fabulous experiment Professori 👍🏻👍🏻
Of course you still have it. You are the peteri king. I liked the ant eater one.
Thanks so much Bob 🥰
Still got the petri skills! Lovely pieces
Thank you 😊
That's amazing, how the colors on the outdoor pieces have hardly faded at all! I can't believe it's been almost 18 months since you started that experiment.
Oooh, I didn't realize we were going to get to see a Petri effect video! I have missed them so much.
This was a good experiment. I *think* I prefer the ones without the glue? It seems to ever so slightly blur the petri effects, or...something...except in the right hand heart - go figure! The purplish red *definitely* wasn't a mistake, though. It's gorgeous! 😊 And that left side big cabochon...WOW! Ha -- anteaters never looked so good! 😅
What really surprises me is that you could wait almost 2 hrs and still get a good stir...and no blobs! I *still* get blobs!
Thank you 😊 Yes, they have held up so well! Yes, the glue did distort the pieces a little, I didn't notice as much whilst filming, only watching it back. I may try waiting even longer for a stir next time 😂
Absolutely amazing the way your “experimental” techniques turn out- thanks for sharing! 👏👏
You are so welcome! Thank you 😊
Without the glue in seeing better defined negative space. So, it really depends on what look you're going for, which one you will prefer.
They turned out very beautiful and I love the colors 💚🩵💛🩷
Thank you 😊
Gorgeous
Thanks Susan 😊
Wouhaou !!!! mais que c'est beau , toujours plus beau !!! Merci Dan pour le partage et tes explications toujours claires !! 🥰❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks Claudine 😊
Beautiful ❤
Thank you so much 🥰
Pretty cool!
Thank you 😊 🙏
Awe sorry but the dance was amazing!
Thank you 😊
Beautiful colours and effect. The clarity in the ones without glue was better. The others seemed to lose a little of the detail. But I wouldn't complain if any of mine turned out like those. Nice experiment for comparison. Always good to see. Thank you Daniel 😊
Thank you Siobhan, I didn't notice the cloudiness whilst filming as much as I did watching it back, still great for glitter as barely noticed in that vid 😊
Apparently the glue is not the universal solution to everything resin. Huh 🤔 I do love watching you experiment, and the result is so beautiful. Thank you 🙏
Apparently not 😂
love them😍
Hey Daniel! Another awesome video! That one where you said you could see a face, I was seeing Sid the sloth from the film Ice Age, it immediatley sent my head to the dance he did when he was proclaimed king, right before they wanted to sacrifice him into a fiery pit of death lol I've got so many of your vids on my 'to do' list, but I'm so busy with etching I don't know where to look, my jewellery making is quite neglected! January is coming, I've bought myself a nice big bottle of UV resin...fun times are coming my way!
😂😂 I have an old piece that reminded me of Sid 😂 yay, hope you enjoy UV, it takes a little getting used to but I find it so much easier than epoxy and soooo much faster 😂
Fab as always DC. 💀 ⬅️ Me waiting for Let's Resin site to work again! 😱 X
Thanks Sarah, hopefully won't be long 😔
@@daniel..cooper agonising isn't it? Especially as there's tons of new items on the USA site. You seen the double sided lamp? Omg, my hub, Adam, is driving me nuts - he keeps telling me I've got to tell you he LOVES your bubbles and don't try too hard to get rid of them and he says you're a dude and you're 10th Dan at resin 🤦🏼♀️ he says you'll appreciate the dad joke. Smh 🤣 x
@@sarahbird9267 It is painful 😂 Hi Adam 👋 I have a whole book on dad jokes! Love it 😂
Hey DC. What do you do with your pieces you don't like to use them up? Chip them up and use as mosaic? Hope you're doing OK. Bloody freezing up here. - 2 already tonight 🥶 x
That was great! I've missed your petris. To me the ones with the glue don't look as detailed as the ones without. I love the "anteater"! I was thinking the same thing!
Youve still GOT IT!
Thanks Lee 😊 🫂
Awesome job, still got it! Adding the red/pink was a bold move, and it totally paid off. And there might not be much difference, but it can cut back on the waiting time before stirring if you don't have a full two hours to wait. So it could be a nice little hack if you need to get some resin work done but also sleep soon or leave the house.
Thanks, yes, maybe I need to try and see if I can stir straight away 😊
Love your experiments. Would love to see this using glitter
Thanks 😊 I have never tried petri with glitter, only mica 😊
I think I prefer without the pva in epoxy looking at these. X
Ditto 😊 Thank you 😊
Love them. Gona try making some :)
Hope you enjoy! 😊😊
Ho Daniel! feel like I always write you the same things but honestly the experiments and creations with resin are crazy! I can't help but thank you so much because I really learned so many things: about petri but not only !! Thank you so much!!!Sabina 😊🤗
Thanks so much Sabina 😊😊😊
I really appreciate you and your videos! Thank you so much for being so helpful.😊❄️😊
Thanks so much Deb 🥰
Hello! Thank you for everything! Those colors are great!!
Jst doing some binge watching heheh . At 10:32 the one on the right with the glue that little face in the centre looks like a frog or a fish kind of face LOL . These look gorgeous
😂😂 oh yes! Sadly alcohol ink and uv resin are a bad mix for petri, I have shown how to do it but it can be messy
@@daniel..cooper heh etrust me to pick the messy stuff lol i will look for sure thankyou so much
Trying so heard to sinc you with my tv. Lol aaah!! PrY for me!
Have you got a new phone/camera? Everything is so sharp! They turned out beautifully! Are you going to do a UV test with the Elmer glue pieces? I would be curious to see if it effects the stability of colours. That year has flown by! Thanks Daniel!👍☺️🇬🇧
Thanks Sue, not a new phone but have changed some editing, glad it has made a difference 😊 I won't test these with sunlight as it hasn't really given us any new effects.
Love the ones without the glue more as the ones with look slightly blurred I think but still really good 😊
Thanks Kim 😊
I'm not much for petri, but nice job Daniel 😊
Thank you as always 😊
Your experiments make my day every time. All of these pieces leave me stunned.❤
Thanks Pam 😊
Ive binge watched nearly all your vids gave me loads of inspiration but cant get any let's resin stock 😢 gutted is not the word 😢
Yeah, when you said one or two with black on the back i thought yeah right. Then it was all black.😂
I think the glue side the colors look more solid..
😂😂😂 you know me too well 😂😂😂
@@daniel..cooper that seems to make up for the loss of clarity. I didn't see the loss you were talking about though.
The colors are so crisp. I really don’t see much of a difference with the addition of the glue. Overall excellent results.
Thank you 😊 Yes, not really any difference 😊
These are breath taking! Do you sell these? I'm quite interested in that one that looked like an ant eater!
Thank you 😊 I will start selling soon 😊😊
Beautiful, but I prefer the non-glue ones. Why not use a long neck lighter to get those bubbles out??
Thanks 😊 Me too, I tried but must have missed some after stirring 🙈
I’d love to see if you can bring life back to the pieces you kept outside.
Will film soon 😊😊
Could you do elmers glue then into the pressure bubble remover machine? It might improve the clarity too as it would remove micro bubbles?
Yes, that would work 😁
It seems like the ones with the PVA have a "softer" petri effect.
Thank you 😊 I agree
I tried to get the clear Elmer's glue and couldn't get it. So I tried Elmer's rubber cement. It works the same. Ta da. Thank you for your experiments. I don't like how glitter settles on the bottom.
Glad I could help 🥰🥰🥰
I disagree with the heart with the PVA glue. This could be down to the stirring or just down to the way the colour sank. Either way I prefer the PVA heart because the blue went to the bottom of the heart. The pattern was beautiful in the way it reached the bottom compared to how the non-PVA glue heart finished up. Personal preference though. Thank you for this great video.
Love your experiments.
Im non crafty person but was thinking could you use resin thickened vith clear pva clue as a non cured base layer with non pva resin on top of it, then maby color/pigments would settle between these layers?
Great thinking, a viewer said she tried this and it worked but I will need to test myself soon and see 😊
So very cool.
Was it simply sinker white you used in this one or was it one of your other recipes?
Just sinker 😁
@@daniel..cooper Thank you!
Please help me , how to make Fast Curing 2parts epoxy Putty bace and hardener
Love your videos, could you please let me know where you got your large mould from, as mine is only half that size. Your size mould would be far better for me. Many thanks in advance. 👍😃
Links in the description 😊😊
Isn't that just surface weathering on the outdoor items, Daniel? Would they look different if you put water on them to get over the frosting?
Yes, just the surface 😊 I will sand and glaze coat soon 😊
Hi Daniel, I absolutely love watching your videos & you've inspired me to try resin pouring.
I have a question about the black background that you do, I tried adding a black alcohol ink background but the ink I used didn't spread like yours does & when I unmolded the pieces the ink stayed soft & the edges were rubbery like, do you add more alcohol to the black ink like when you make white sinker?
Thanks, no, nothing else added, maybe try a solid back after the 1st layer has cured instead 😊
@daniel..cooper Thank you so much for replying & I will try what you've suggested. I'm also considering purchasing the Let's Resin Black Resin for my backings and pouring in general.
@heathertaz9743 No probs, yes, that's a good option 😊😊
They look Amazing! Why does my alcohol ink gets a skin on the backside every time? Do I need to dilute the alcohol ink more? Not sure what I’m doing wrong.
Sounds like Piñata sinker, yes, you can dilute down slightly 😊
😊😊
😊😊🥰
hi, Great video. What is a sinker?
👏👏👏
🥰🥰🥰
Have you ever seen the videos where they mix the epoxy resin and leave it for 6 hours then they mold it and shape it like polymer clay?
Oh, no, I haven't seen those.
I'll see if I can find one
Renklere kattığınız beyaz madde ne
I’ve used the alcohol ink, but it seems to take forever to cure, what are your times for letting it set? And how long under the lamp to dry hard UV resin with these inks?
Aloha Daniel quick ?
Have u tried using regular elmers school glue for the glitter trick? If you haven't tried it will u try to experiment and see if it works the same as the clear? Seems like everywhere locally to me is out of stock of the clear glue (maybe a whole bunch of people here seen ur video who knows) I even flew to a different island other day and while there I checked to see if target and Walmart had some and the last bottle litter sold that day at Walmart n target was out. Plenty reg elmers hut no clear..grrr
Others have and it has worked 😁
@@daniel..cooper ty go figure I finally found some clear (and paid hefty for it) and now ik reg glue would have worked 😆 😆 at least now ik ty for responding
I got a question whenever i put a dropof alcohol ink in resin it never cures right. It takes way longer and becomes more like a plastic why is that?
These are beautiful I bought this mold and can’t wait to receive it and try these if you were going to make these into pendants hoe would you do it please
Thanks 😊 Check my jewelry making playlist, lots of ideas in there 😊😊
All pretty, but not much difference with the glue.😊
Thanks Dolli, yes, I was a little disappointed 😂
