Thanks for doing this Dan. It Lets people know that they don't have pay extortionate amounts, buying such paste from certain people and that it's actually very easy and cheap to make at home. I just hope everyone sees this now. Your blooms are awesome, best I've seen. Great job ❤.
WOW!!! Daniel absolutely astonishingly genius you are ❤ part B yellows faster than part A . I know you were after the viscosity. I absolutely love this. Thank you so kindly for sharing your wonderful talent and videos with us all ❤ Take great care and keep creating and smiling. ❤
Thank you so much Daniel. I am s newby at these blooms. Did three coasters, did not fill them, was saving space for a top coat and first time I found them blooming beautifully, did not know why, and here you have given me the reason. Thank you once again for coming through for us.
Your videos are never too long ! This one3,again very interesting. The difference between the two coasters is really impressive. The left one has several "layers" . Beautiful ! Thank you Daniel 😊💙💙💙
That was really interesting. I never thought of the depth making a difference in the bloom. The thinner one really does look better. Pretty cool making your own pigment paste, too. I think Steve McDonald makes his own with the titanium dioxide as well. I really love that you do things like this. I really learn a lot. Thank you!
Well done Dr Cooper! I love your determination to test things out, and to give us information more than “add this to this”. I learn from you which is invaluable, and you are happy to share the things you have discovered. Thank you! 👏🌟🇦🇺
Thank you for such a detailed video! Love the flower effects. A Silicon scraper/spatula from the cooking area will be a great addition to your tool kit.
The one with less resin is super beautiful! Hands down the best bloom I have ever seen. Usually when ppl make coasters there so much clear/blk to flower bloom it’s crazy!
very interesting! "uniform" is a good word for the shallow petals. I like that! I wonder if you could do another bloom layer on top of the shallow one? maybe darker colors. could be another experiment.
Thank you for all the outstanding tutorials! I just made some bloom coasters, and 4 out of 5 came out brilliantly. I've just purchased some of your collab resin to see how much better the results get!
Thank you so much Daniel! For some reason I tend to always have a little Part B left so now I know what to do with it! Thank you so very much for this! What a game changer!!!
Really interesting..I hadn't seen homemade pigment paste before.. very cool.. Those pours that are popular at the moment say you need a deeper mould for the blooms but yours clearly works better with the shallow one.. beautiful too❤
Just discovered your channel, completely fascinated by it! These look so much like a flower I plant every summer called a Dianthus. So pretty, and as one that does crafts, has my mind whirling with possibilities.
AMAZING blooms, Daniel! 💕 Both are beautiful, but that shallow pour is absolutely *GORGEOUS!* The bloom is wider, more evenly spread, has more definition, and - crazily - *_has more depth!_* HOW?!? BEST BLOOM EVER, dude! 😍👍 Who knew a *shallow* pour would make better blooms?!? 😲 I always heard we need a fairly deep pour to avoid blobbing (assuming not too much white paste is used), but this...! P.S. To get the lumps out, push the powder through a fine sieve, using a finger, popsicle stick, spatula...whatever! That way, you won't need to purchase a mortar and pestle. 😊
This is how i always make my pigment paste, i have yet to attempt a bloom, i will very soon, thank you for all your knowledge & ideas, very much appreciated. Love these 🌼 🌸
Simply stunning…. I’m a beginner, have everything to get started but learning a bit more before I start my first one. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Georgetown Ky
Very cool experiment, one thing i have noticed is the effect of gravity on pigments. The deeper the pour the further the pigment will sink down to the bottom, pulling with it anything around it (think small pebbles sinking in syrup or oil). I had more success with blooms when i only used inks, and a heatgun (pouring from a height at the places i wanted the color to contract), but im still experimenting as well 😅 You are definitely on to something there concerning the depth of the pour. Cool video, thanks for sharing.
$12 is pretty cheap. But if you want to try out resin for the first time, there’s so much to buy at once if you want to do all these cool projects and it adds up fast. So anywhere we can save is worth it!
Thanks, Daniel, for the tips! As someone who is just starting out with resins, I'm struggling to justify buying a $13 bottle of resin pigment or $18 for the sinker white, especially since I'm not sure I will use it all before it goes bad. It seems like such a waste. This is a much more economical way to achieve the same beautiful results. I'm wondering what will happen if I add mica powder or pearl alcohol inks to the mixture. Could you do a video on that? I would also be interested to know how it effects the viscosity of the resin and just some basics about what happens on a physical level when you add certain things. Does mica powder spread? How and why do the inks spread? Is there a good rule of thumb about how deep sinkers will sink, such as temperature and/or viscosity? So many questions. Hope you can answer some of them. Thanks for all you do. I've learned so much already!
Very welcome 😊 micas can be used yes, lots of questions there, be sure to check out as many of my vids on both blooms and petri, many answers are already there 😊😊
@@daniel..cooper Agree the sinker pigments definitely pricey. Starting to make my own pigments too. Like an old mad scientists here concocting potions. Lol
I didn't realize the depth made a difference either. However, maybe this gives us a an opportunity to add different backgrounds. Maybe a two layered background with something iridescent then a darker layer to make it pop. The ideas are limitless. Thank you for sharing. ✌️❤️🤣 remember to always strive for peace, love and happiness in your life.
Love the blooms on both but the thinner pour was definitely better. Thanks also for the tutorial on making your own white pigment paste, (gotta save the pennies wherever we can these days).
Absolutely beautiful results, thank you for sharing your ideas and experiments. I’m going to give this a try, I don’t care for casting craft. I stopped using it. Daniel I appreciate all you do Thank you ❤❤❤
I am glad you made the white pointing base. Wow, the vacuum chamber was a great idea. Think i need to do this with my black paste that i made, and order some titanium dioxide. That was real interesting about the amount of resin for the flowers. I always thought it would be the opposite. Great observation. And thanks for sharing. 😊
Thanks Bob, yes, took me by surprise too. Next time I will try the vacuum before spending time mixing, I think it worked amazing at ridding of any powder bubbles 😊
Beautiful blooms! I'm definitely going to try using less resin. I'm also going to make some paste. I bought some titanium dioxide to mix with alcohol to spray on white tiles to engrave with the F1.
Would using a small brand new sieve work to break up the lumps in the powder before adding Part A or Part B (depending on the creator’s preference) be a better starting point, especially if you don’t have equipment at hand to pull all the trapped air bubbles out of any clumps, thus breaking the clumps up later? I only suggest a new sieve because it won’t have been used before on anything that could potentially have left anything on despite washing up. The sieve could be small & labelled for use with Titanium Powder & stored in a sealed ziplock bag to prevent dust collecting on it. And would you only want to use the paste with the exact same resin you made it with? Or does it work with different brands? Different viscosities? Different cure times? Different types of resins like Deep Pour etc.?
I had a thought. I sometimes don’t like the migration to the center. Have you ever tried a raised center maybe with a coin? I think I might. Great video
WOW!!! How amazing…thanks Daniel for showing us starving artists hacks to save money!!! These days its so awesome to be able to save anything!!! So again thank you and wow what a bloom does it make!!!!!!
Don't worry to much about the expiraration date on the zink dioxide it's there because zink dioxide is also a popular ingredient in medicinal salve and make up, so it's mostly there for those purposes.
Yes, yellowing is one but many other things can happen like changes in viscosity, poor curing and bonding etc. I will make a vid soon with some very out of date resin 😂
Hi Daniel, I've just started watching your videos for a short while now. I love how creative and beautiful your experiments come out. I'm trying out resin jewelry too. But I don't know how to drill a hole using the self drilling tool... could or did you do a video how to do that? Have a gloriously blessed Monday 😉
This couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m going to be trying my first bloom in a few days and I have been studying your videos! The shallow pour will definitely be added to my instructions. But I am going to stick with the Let’s Resin ocean pigment for now. Lol
Love this bloom. I'll give it a try. Daniel I have a question perhaps you can answer. I've poured several batches of Let's Resin for the heart molds (appox 2" across and 3/8" deep) I have been following your videos and I mix according to instructions, put 3 drops of Ranger alcohol inks and 3 drops of Let's Resin white sinker. I try adding 3 drops of Let's Resin translucent pigment (liquid form) to the resin before pouring into the molds. Again drop in 3 drops of Rangers and 3 drops of sinker. These are having trouble completely curing. Do you think it could be too much liquid mixed into the resin that's causing this? Thanks.
The blooms are beautiful! I haven't tried a bloom yet but I will definitely be trying with the thin layer. Also, what is the name of the clicky pressure thingy that you use to pop bubbles? Keep up the wonderful tutorials. ❤

I think sifting the powder into the mixing bowl would eliminate the lumps. I’ve ordered some TD and I’m going to make some! So excited 😊
The more shallow one is more flower like. What I mean is it seems more 3 dimensional and layered. Really lovely.

Hi, yes, too much, if it's the mold I think it is with 9 hearts, the edges are really shallow and need a lot longer to cure sometimes.

go back and have a look at both again, the shallow one has a better 3D efect, giving a more realistic petal efect. nice one
