I absolutely love that you show us your mistakes!! It lets me know, that my mistakes are fixable and everyone does them. They turned out great in the end!! Especially love the dragons!!
@Toonpish Oh, dear! Sorry to say, but... *your hubby is wrong!* 😅 We NEED to know what _not to do!_ Mistakes can be very costly, as you know, and if someone can tell/show us what doesn't work...well! All we can do is be grateful and say thank you! 😘😊👍
You are a hoot Wendy😂 Thanks for showing the black taking over the clear waterside paper, that's a mistake I will not have to make now. Beautiful pieces, I love the wolf ❤❤❤
Thank you for going through several projects from start to finish with the water slide paper. It's helped me understand the process of how to use it so much better. All of the projects turned out so beautifully. I really loved the galaxy coaster. Just beautiful! 💗
Very beautiful 😍 I too love seeing the mistakes. It makes us feel that we are not alone making them and we can always learn go from them. Actually, my favorite saying is, A mistake is NOT a mistake if you learn from it 😊
I used to use both white and clear water slide paper on tumblers. I applied some with the sticky side down & some with the printed side down depending on which was easier for the design, and I never had any issues with the decals lifting or fading. Also, smoothing the decals is easier if you gently use a silicone makeup/mask brush as a squeegee. Your trays & coasters are gorgeous! You are making me want to get my water slide paper back out again. ❤️
Wendy, I think these have all turned out beautifully, in spite of all of your headaches getting to the finished product! Thank you for leaving all of those problems in the video as now we know what not to do! Thanks also for another great video.
I adore the dragons, the horses and faces are very nice but my favourite is the wolf and the galaxy. I'm just a sucker for space and galaxy themed things.
One tip I have seen to make waterslide pictures pop on a non-white background is to make a solid version of the picture, probably by slicing in design space, to back the picture with. To get it to work in tray style molds you might have to make the whole piece, then vinyl, then waterslide, and finally top coat it. Hope that makes some sense, since I have only seen it done when making tumblers and not actually done it myself!
Thanks for all the tips Wendy. I've got plans to use waterslide papers and had no idea there was a right and wrong way up!😂 Also hadn't even occurred to me that transparent waterslide papers would let the background colours come through. I've got a lot to learn! 😂
Hi Wendy, a little tip on those pesky edges on transparent prints: first lay the print on a white transparent silicone mat and cover with a thin layer of UV resin making sure to cover the edges, not having a too big overflow of resin to the edges so that the image will still fit into the mold and then cure, then place your image into the mold and by magic the edges will disappear once castend into the mold.
That’s a good idea 😀😀 doesn’t the uv resin shrink and distort? I have done that on tattoos and as the uv resin shrinks when cured you need to stick the tattoo down to combat it. Thanks for your comment I’ll have to try it 😀❤️
Oh you crack me up Wendy. The cable 😂😂😂 The mixer cleaning 😂 then the spill. I literally found out about doming & alcohol spills myself yesterday & tried using a stick also. What a mess. Thanks for an informative & hilarious tutorial. ❤
Ooooo, My Word, Had I not been watching our dearest Claire, I would’ve not come aboard your awesome page. I literally learned 5 new things from this video. I will have 2goback and look at all the Q&A, as I have many myself. I just loooved everything about this video.
I caught the end of the premiere, so I came back and watched it from the beginning. These are so beautiful. And I mean beautiful 😍. Thank you for doing this video and going over everything so well. Lol, when you dropped the cup, I thought it was a video of me😂😂😂 I am such a klutz 😂. ❤❤❤
Wendy! You are such a crack up!❤ Enjoying your tutorial as always, then spitting coffee all over my tablet at 10:19 😂🤣. Oh, we just love you sweetheart. But seriously what a brilliant tutorial. So detailed and easy to follow so thankyou so very much for all the effort you have put into it. They have came out beautifully and I am so excited to try this out ❤❤😊
Hi Wendy these are so beautiful really love the dragons with the white 😍, let's resin are always bringing out really cool gadgets, thanks for sharing ❤❤❤ xxx
You handle the messes very well Wendy. For a minute I thought you were in my craft room. You are a pro and I learn something every time I watch you. You are terrific !
Your work is amazing! You've made beautiful items. I would never have thought of any of this on my own. So, thank you, thank you, thank you... Also, leaving the oops in, is incredibly helpful. I learn what not to do and don't feel so inferior when I goof. Ironically, I did exactly the same thing this morning. I sprayed the alcohol on a bunch of dominos I'm making, and spent half an hour, trying to make sure they went back to being seperate dominos, instead of a sheet of lumps. I was cursing then but can laugh about it now. Talk about a learning experience! I thought I was the only one who always has things falling into my resin. It drives me spare! For example, I'll put a paper towel on the table near (not beside) the mold, and the moment I look away, the paper is dipping into my resin. I swear there are resin gremlins at work! P.S. I love your new toy! I think I will ask for one for my b-day...🤞
Danielle thank you so much for your lovely comment 🥰🥰 Resin Gremlins is definitely a thing for sure 😂😂 I learned a long time ago that if something is curing I don’t even look at it 😂😂 Because something will happen 😂😂🤷♀️ I actually really love the istoyo resin tea cosy thing because it shuts things away from my mind 😂😂💜🥰
I just mirror the image and lightly spray paint it white., then slide it on with the white being behind. It doesn’t matter what color pigments are used in the resin afterwards👌 I’m sure I’m not the first to say it but there’s a lot of comments to look at 😂 Thanks Wendy.. love your style!
Thank you for this, you have solved my problem, I will now remember NOT to spray alcohol when I dome lol.... Love your attitude and way of thinking, you make me laugh with your mistakes and droping things... I have done that too so many times!
I LOVE your longer videos!!! Your voice is so soothing while informative, hmmm the female Bob Ross lol😂 thank you for answering so many questions in this video also!
Yes Wendy, absolutely fabulous. Thanks for this it’s really helped. I have got a laser printer but only black-and-white so I would have to go with the ink jet and seal it.😊
Wow, I truly appreciate you showing your mistakes. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one it happens to. Love the outcome of everything. I'm thinking of purchasing the resin mixer.😃 Just my 1 cent
I love those little dragons! They are so adorable! I was really surprised when you demolded the black ones and there was nothing there. Great fix, though. A suggestion I learned from Julie at Pouring Your Heart Out when you have too much resin in a mold use a syringe to remove some from the center. It really seems to work for her. I love Creative Fabrica, too! I have gotten so many designs from them!
These were so pretty… I adore those little dragons!!! They would make a great gift for a friend of my mine who is a dragon freak lol…. Missed your premier as it was right in the middle of my monthly doctor's appointment!
Thank you so much Wendy for giving us those explanations. It helps so much to see how things can go wrong. And save us the headache. By just sharing your mistake thank you god bless have a great day
Thank you so much Wendy. I keep learning so much from your video's. I am pretty new to resin. Today I poured a top coat on a coaster. I had domed it and then I spritzed it with alcohol. To my surprise it ran over the edge and I had to remove some of the resin. I thought it was a user error and I had poured to much resin. Thanks to you I know it was because of the alcohol spritz. I would not have known if you had not shared this info here in your video. Thanks and keep the lessons coming. Debbie J-C
So glad you did this. Have some of that paper. Now I need to find out if it’s transparent or white lol. They turned out so Beautiful even with all the oops lol, it’s like you were in my crafting room 😅❤❤❤❤
I have waterslide paper I got for nail art, I'll have to experiment. Some office supplies stores here will print on specialty paper, some won't. I also had inconsistency with employees who did or didn't enforced the no copyrighted materials printing. 🤣
Ooh wendy i think these are absolutely amazing and stunning you are very good and talented in what you do. but I totaly feel you pain doing these today lol but I'm sorry I did laugh I totaly needed this. Today, been a rough day for me but this made me feel lot better. . I had the same trouble I poured black resin onto my butterfly memorial plaque I made for my dad. And I was so excited and it looked beautiful until I put the black on and same thing happen to mine. It disappeared I did laugh but it confused me I looked on floor thinking it fell off 😂😂. And I over load my moulds there more on me than in the mould half time lol expecially if someone talking to me I lose concentration. I'm a disaster waiting to happen half time. I even put coffee today in the kettle instead of mug and then put jar in the fridge and milk jn the cupboard head fried 😂😂😂.. xxx
Oh honey I couldn’t find the milk the other day, then found it on the pan shelf 😂😂😂 I think our heads get too full with ideas and basic tasks get muddled in the process 😂😂 We are who we are and just laugh and be happy 😂 Thanks for sharing your story 🥰🥰🥰
11:37 Syringes are handy for taking extra resin out of your moulds. But I don’t know how easy or difficult they are to buy. But I wondered if a turkey baster would work to suction out excess.
Wow, they are all beautiful, and thank you for showing the mistakes you made so we don't, and we all make mistakes and how to use the water slide paper and advice on coating it first for ink jet print
ignore my question on the other video :D you answered it on this one! I have a laser printer so I might be able to get away with not sealing with acrylic/hairspray. I think the full color pictures are pretty, but I adore the ability to "color" the print with resin. I think I'm going to stick to "coloring books" thank you for this video
12:16 depending on the size of the paper & your mould, if you have shaky hands or you just don’t trust yourself cutting too close to your design, what about cutting to the size of your mould? Oh I am sure it could be worked out on the cricut or the Xtool M1. Just need to figure out the settings. you are quite right about the shape too and cutting. Great comment... Thank you 👍💜💜👍😀
I'll rewatch the video tomorrow morning, Ms Wendy💜.As being tired ,I missed half premier.I also tried finding this paper, will check amazon now,as you all said.I was thinking of using stencils otherwise 😅 Hopefully soon I'll start the project 💜
