Yeah it looks a bit like a parody horror game rn but it's a pretty tiny team and the final game is gonna be completely free so it should be cut a whole lotta slack
Im not sold until more info on character behavior comes out, that's the single most important aspect of this kind of game to me. This shows a ton of promise, especially with the robust character creation tools, but there's still that core mechanism
I want to make a full sequel, more or less combining it with the Sims for possible control over your lookalike. And it will be made in 2027 or something, whenever I learn programming to that level
I think giving full control takes away from the experience...I personally like the fact that I can't control every aspect of the miis in tomodachi..I like just being able to help but ultimately they have the say in their own lives and relationships..I like that we can kind of influence them but I like the randomness and the fact that we don't have complete control.

Having to sit at a computer with sims time is just bad design for this type of game if it is to be easy and lighthearted fun. Without Mii / nintendo charm I wouldn't find myself and I imagine most others interested. the switch successor may give us something first party that we are looking for. Tomodachi life wasn't a flop. New life is a miss on a fundamental level unfortunately.
I'd have to disagree. Having the game in virtual time allows anyone to access and play it, no matter the time of day they're currently in. I understand the natural progression of real-time gameplay but the game works with a sims-like time scale in its own way. It's the way the games designed. I understand it may not be for you, but honestly, we're doing our best to make the game different enough from TL but also give off the same vibes. Just wait until it releases and then you can judge it for what it's worth. Thank you for the comment, though.

I dunno... I feel like its a bit too free to really capture the Tomodachi life feel. Like, part of the charm of the game was that it was more about watching over your people as they did fun things. I think the simplicity of the original game was why it shined so much. Not being able to customise the clothing and rooms wasn't too big of a deal because it wasn't that big of a part of the game. I think this game is going to do what Animal Crossing New Horizons did, try and do too much and give the player too much control without capturing what made the original game special. I do really enjoy the character creator and that is where they seem to have succeeded the most, it looks super fun. but to be able to fully customize their apartments and clothing it's just.... yknow?
The concept has potential and I’m very excited to see what comes of this! I do have to agree with a few people that the art style… doesn’t look very finished or cohesive and it seems like the dev is not very keen on changing it much anymore. I recognize that this is relatively early in development still and anything can happen so we’ll see. I do love everything else I’m seeing here and when it does release I will definitely check it out!
