    Beautiful car with gorgeous sounding engine! I'm surprised by the widely spaced gears though.

      @Kubas147  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, yes, its really a great car and will be even better as the engine is under quite big reconstruction now ;-) What do you mean with the gears? gear ratios??? (this car has extremely long gears, thats right....)

    • @CreRay
      @CreRay ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Kubas147 Thanks yes I mean long gears, I know that top speed is achieved in 4th, not 5th. What reconstruction work does the engine need? These engines are very reliable, no?

    • @Kubas147
      @Kubas147  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CreRay you are right with the top speed and long gears. Well, the engine was fine, but was original from 1984 and needed just changing of fuel lines etc, more for safery reasons than for realibility... anyway, it gets new camshafts and valve ajdustments, so it will be really perfect. Together with completely new suspension I hope it will make the car far better that it was.... Before this it was really 1984-original and some parts were simply too old :-)

    Someone told me the 90 had a bulkhead and transmission tunnel from an Alfa 6, is that true? I thought this was a 100% an Alfetta/75/Giulietta chassis.

    • @Kubas147
      @Kubas147  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      do not know you mean bulkhead but the transmission tunel can hardly be from Alfa 6 when the 90 has the transmission on the opposite side of the car :-) Yes, 90 is on the same platform as Alfetta/Giulietta/75.... transaxle as all of them.....

      Hi, of course I have it.... have finally fixed vibrations of driveshaft that were spoiling the quality of ride.... Now its in the workshop again, will get some valve adjustment, maybe new camshafts.... But it ride it and step by step its better and better car ;-)

      @@Kubas147 its obviously an Italian Machine. Needs much maintenance, but when you invest the work, it's running longer than most people think. That engine sound is excellent, and I remember that handling as really decent. I had a battle on an alpine pass road, me in a Galant GTi 16V with electronic suspension and high-revving computer controlled engine management, and I did not get rid of the Alfa 90 behind me that finally overtook me. That Italian guy drove like Enzo himself but you cant do that with a bad car, the 90 was way more capable than it looks.

    • @Kubas147

      @@20CMT08 thats truth.... Alfa 90 (and all the 75s and Alfettas) is extremely ballanced car that can be very fast.... it just needs skilled and brave driver.... then this boxy cars can show surprising performance :-)

      @@Kubas147 my ego was completely destroyed - I had the most advanced japanese sport sedan you could get in 1989 and paid much money for that, and I was beaten by a car that is basically from 1972 with a few updates. It wasn't even a 2.5 as I remember hearing a tortured four-cylinder scream for help when he passed me out at 150 kph (!!) on the narrow road, our mirrors even touched slightly. That Italian guy knew exactly how to drive his car.

      @@20CMT08 "dont try this at home, kids" ;-) it must have been a lot of adrenalin ;-) BTW if it was 4 cylinder, the 90 had "only" 2.0 engine with some 120-130PS. Alfa 75 had a great Twin Spark with 150PS making a really briliant car in terms of handling. 150PS is not that much but in light, ballanced car with great suspension it makes a lot of fun (BTW the maintenance of the engine is so much easier that with V6). Anyway, we have privillege that we could enjoy such cars! And even today, you can pass the moder cars in a great way ;-) th-cam.com/video/LXWrXx2rIXk/w-d-xo.html
