  • Australian garage Maranello Pur-sang Ep7 - Classic, Vintage, Veteran and RADwood car restorations and repairs from the vantage point of the mechanics, auto body mechanics and paint technicians that work to keep our motoring heritage on the road.
In this episode, I return to Maranello Pur-sang. There's a lot going on, not least an ultra rare Alfa Romeo 90 in after 10 years stuck away in a garage to see if the lads can get it going. The Ferrari 400 automatic has been missing some exhaust manifold covers since an engine rebuild and Pasquale isn't too enamoured at the idea of getting the welding gun out, while Bruno is making the final tweaks to an Alfa 1750 GTV that's been in for a tune up.
Twice weekly visits to classic auto garages featuring cars from 1886 to 1999 & including car restoration, rebuilds, repairs and restomods to anything from Aussie V8s, American muscle cars, Euro exotics, JDM, your coveted everyday runabout and more. If it's built before the turn of the century, there's every chance I'll film it.
I simply love old cars and visiting garages to chat to the people working on them. Added to that, I devour car content on youtube so I thought I'd join in and make some myself.
Hopefully you might like to come along for the journey as well.

I'm in the states.. US. I have a 1988 Milano... oops '75' 2.5V6. I love the 80s look of both, but the front active spoiler is so cool! It's funny after looking under the bonnet how some things are similar to the 75. Love Alfas!!!

I suppose I can't account for what work was done after it left my possession. Funnily enough, I was told by the Avanti workshop here in Brisbane; "Although, my car had all other badges, correct as per factory (including Bertone, Inezione, all Gold cloverleafs) "I think, There was 1x more badge,
Quadrifoglio Oro? ¿ Possible my memory is corrupt, but didn't have the Super badge on bootlid, but upon checking Frame number IT Left the factory. AS a SUPER.... Would you be interested in further comparisons? I'm gathering the mentioned parts, for a video .
      Stay tuned

ooh, i love the alfa 90! i have the super rare 2.0L v6 myself(only 1500 were ever produced, Italy only) and my dad disassembled 5 alfa 90's that were rusted beyond repair for parts. the super isn't actually better than the original 2.5L v6, the main changes are the dash, the original had a digital dashboard which looks very 80's, and the first one had a different front grill(which i like better imo). this is still an epic and super rare car though, and this one even has the optional right rear view mirror, which is really rare as there were barely any replacements made.

I have an alfa 90 with the 2.5 v6. It has a blown head gasket and smokey from valve guides so I'm dropping in a 3l from a 164. All the relevant parts from the 2.5 will be swapped over.

That'll sound a whole lot better too! Do you still have the briefcase?

@@davesclassicgaragetours No briefcase unfortunately. The 3l will pull the high gearing better also. Third gear at recline is 155kmph.

Hey dave. Lovely car that. I'm fortunate enough to own an alfa 90 here in the Midlands of the UK.
It's returning to the road after a lengthy engine rebuild later this year.

As owner of Alfa 90 Super V6 2.5 with ABS - have you ever seen one? - (gun metal gray), Alfa 75 V6 3.0 America, Alfa 75 V6 3.0 latest version with Motronic fuel injection, Alfa 75 Turbo Quadrifoglio verde ASN with Recaro interiors, fortunately there are those guys who can take care of Alfa's....

The lads at MPS definitely fall into the category of Alfa master techs
