Just watching you cut some rounds makes me want to but my back says no. Maybe someday I will be able to do some lighter cuts but until then I will watch and enjoy. Be safe my friend 🙏♥️👍

One of my sons got me boot spikes for Christmas. They are so worth it.
Thanks for sharing the challenges. 😊

Howard, that is a great idea! I never thought of that. But I'm putting them on the shopping list!

Ģood evening John! Weather like your experiencing most certainly makes it difficult to do anything. We've been getting freezing rain the past few days and I have been wearing my boot spikes so I don't slip on the icy ground. I like using a 32 inch bar like the one on your Echo. Sometimes you just have to wait for better conditions to work safely. In those conditions going in with machinery will just make a mess and create a probability of getting stuck or injured, patience is a vertue.

Thanks so much. Paul! I honestly would take a month of sub 0 weather over this. At least we shouldn't have any drought issues this year, LOL.

Marty, you are a true gem. I feel like you are a great friend that I've never met face-to-face. I can't wait to see you this year at Bunyan!!!.

All my chainsaws have had 16 inch blades. Yours looks so much longer. I'm guessing much easier on the back. Crazy temperature changes. We are living with similar weather here in Nova Scotia. Dryer weather would be great. Take care John, I enjoyed the video. Ben 👍🍻

Thanks so much, Ben! That's a 32-inch bar. I literally could do that for 8 hours straight and not have any back discomfort. I'm actually praying for a month of sub-zero temperatures!

Hi John. You’re having some troubles there. Similar weather here. It’s to bad winter would not just come and stay, like it use too.
Nice chainsaw. I like the long bar. I can see your not bending to cut up the tree that’s on the ground. What a back saver.
      That’s one big tree. Wow.
Ya, I’m no help to you on how to get that out. But I would start at the top I guess. And once I got along a bit maybe an idea would come along.
If you could Jack it up and put 6”x 3’ logs under it. It sure would be easier to pull. And as you move along take the rear log out and put it under the front again and keep it going like that maybe. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Hope you get it figured out. We need videos of that 👋👋👍🏻👍🏻
      Have a great day John.

@noelstractors-firewood57 Noel: Thanks so much for your ideas! I was kind of heading in that direction. My thought has always been to get the top end of the tree taken care of to reduce weight and drag. Stay tuned, and I guess we will see what happens!

I know a place that you can rent a large excavator! haha, let me know. You can also use a skidding winch on the back of your Kubota, they make up to an 8,000 pound winch that I think would work with your machine, I would have to check.

Ha!!!! I bet you do! I'm really leaning toward the winch since I know there will be other trees in the future!🫣
