Looks like Husky built a winner! That Oregon helmet looks a lot like a Rockman hard hat. It's one of my favorite helmets and fits well. Have you tried Maxiflex gloves? They are a lot cheaper than those Stihl gloves and will outperform most imitators. I recommend the Maxiflex Endurance for a budget option, and Maxicut Ultra DT for an upgrade.
Mr. John, the new 562 "sings"...your break in procedure is just fine. Beautiful wood you have there and appears mostly straight grained. I did not know what to expect with the "rant", you are such an agreeable man, I guess we all have a limit and say enough is enough...
Brian! Indeed, that 562 is an absolute beast. I suppose the word rant might have been a bit strong. But it just boggles my mind that they would brand things not up to their usual quality standards. I hope to see you at Bunyan!
Love the 562xp mk2 and the 555pro are both cracking all rounders, them Tsumura bars look the Business on Huskys 👍. Totally agree on stihl making some terrible helmets etc they fall apart. Mind you there new domestic range saws are Garbage to Really bad, i dont know whats going on with them lately 🤔. Great content buddy, subbed 🇬🇧🤝🇺🇸
Hi John, great saw, looked to perform well. I really like how you handled, or worded your criticism of the stihl hat and gloves. you mentioned how good their power equipment is and then said they could do better with their hats and gloves, just very well said. And its true, a lot of companies will have an excellent line of one thing, but fall short on another.
Thanks, Joey! I really do think it is just a matter of them trying to source a better quality product for their accessories. Otherwise, I will sing their praises all day long on their power equipment!
Hello John. Great video. You have quite a collection of saws there. That 562 Husqvarna saw made short work of that pile. Nice looking wood. That will split up nice. Have a great Friday John. 👋👋👍🏻👍🏻🪵🪓🔥🚜
Thanks, Noel!!!! I was very impressed with it. Additionally, I thought of you when I looked down after it had sat for a while, and I did not see any oil leaking😂😂😂!
When running a splitter, my right hand is on the controls, while my left hand is holding the logs. My left glove always wears out faster. I noticed your wear spot was also on the left hand.
Hey John. Gary sent me over. You did a great job on this video. You are so right about the ergonomics with Husqvarna. It's the only saw brand im comfortable using all day. But I like so many others, and when the day comes for me to get a bigger saw, I believe the 562 or 72 will be my choice. Kenny
@OpenAirAdventure Hey Kenny! Thanks so much for stopping by. Gary is a great guy!!!! Over the years, I've really leaned more toward Husqvarna for the comfort and performance combined. Just subbed your channel!!!
Good morning John, enjoyed your video with our morning coffee. Loved the intro👍 I feel so much better now. I was thinking of buying a second saw and was having trouble justifying the purchase. I have a 455 Rancher and I treat it terribly but it still runs like new after all these years. I have had the same experiences with all my Sthil helmets. When this one quits I think I am done them. Have a great weekend, Ben 👋😎👍🪵🪓
@@thebradleysoncatbirdhill6849 Hello John, thanks for the saw recommendation. I went back and watched your video again and also checked out the saw on line. The 562 is quite a bit more powerful than my 455 and almost exactly the same weight. Great advice 👍 I look forward to seeing more videos of your 562 in action. Ben 🍻
Good evening John. Very nice saw. Glad you are happy with it. 60cc is great for that size wood. Having multiple saws for different applications and wood sizes is ideal. I bought a new Echo helmet a few months ago. My Stihl helmet broke in the same place as yours. Also, I really didn't like the ear muffs very much. I found that they did not block out the noise from saw very well. Ash is such a nice wood to split and burn. As you stated it drys fast. The one thing I don't like about ash is the messy bark. Happy splitting!
Paul!!! Thanks so much. I was laughing when I read your comment about the bark. Especially with the standing dead trees, it literally seems to slide off in sheets when I'm processing it. Are you guys preparing for a big winter up your way?
@@thebradleysoncatbirdhill6849 I always have my firewood ready 2 to 3 years in advance. I marked 60 trees a few days ago that I will cut down as soon as all the leaves have fallen off all the trees that surround the ones I will cut. I would love a nice cold and snowy winter, it makes for great outdoor winter activities. Right now we are getting canning, pickling, freezing and drying of vegetables, herbs, and apples from our gardens and trees done. In the 1st week of October I'll turn my attention to prepping my equipment and vehicles for the winter. Have a super weekend and enjoy that new saw!
Marty, you would not believe it, but I actually was using DGP in that first run!!! When I saw your comment, I could have kicked myself for not having mentioned it in the video. So far, I really like it. I only bought a couple of little bottles at Home Depot, but I want to get more, because I know I'll be using it for all of my cutting!
@@thebradleysoncatbirdhill6849 At the Bunyan I will hook you up with Scott Porter CEO of DGP products. You can purchase it directly from his company and buy it by the gallon so much cheaper. I have been using it for a year and it is hands down the best product I have used. He is working with Buckin this year at the Bunyan so you will have full knowledge of all their products.

The thing that kills me about that, Gary, is how expensive their accessories are. I think I' m going back to Harbor Freight!!! By the way, how is stuff going out on the farm?
Thanks so much for watching and for your comment! I know he is definitely a Husky guy , but I can honestly say that his assessments of all different saw brands are spot on! He certainly should know since he has spent a lifetime running them.

Love the opening scene. Wow! What an amazing saw collection. Huge thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Howard! The sad part is I think that's only about one quarter of my collection🫣

That saw did not disappoint, wow made short work of that ash! Going to have to get you set up to try some of that bio oil from DGP on that new saw 😂

Good evening John.
If I had all of those choices in chain saws, I wouldn’t get anything done.
It’s bad enough having 5 saws.
That WAS fun!!!
Don't you love it when such fun results in getting things done?!
Full watch John
No slouch for power!!!
I bought a pair of Stihl gloves and I don’t think I got a full week out of them. They were cheap junk!!!
Absolute garbage gloves. Had the same experience.
