Following immediately after the events of THE RAID, Rama (Iko Uwais) is forced to reinvent himself as an undercover cop in order to provide protection for his wife and child. Working for the anti-corruption task force led by the one person he can trust, Bunawar, he is given a mission to engage himself as an enforcer for a local mob boss, Bangun. Finding a way in through Bangun's son Uco, Rama must hunt for information linking Bangun with police force corruption. All the while, he harbors a dangerous and personal vendetta for revenge and justice that threatens to consume him - and bring both this mission and the organized crime syndicates crashing down.

One thing I love about this movie is how the main characters don't look invincible or able to kill guys with one punch. They don't look like "I'm gonna beat some sense into the bad guys", Rama and Eka both look like they're fighting for their lives, and the fight scene in the car takes forever because it really isn't easy to knock someone out.
Also Eka later dies because of his wounds. It shows that these characters we care about don’t have that plot armor most action movies fail to recognize and therefore we can invest ourselves in the scene more.

@@aryachaudhury2787 Eka was clearly dying from all the wounds he had taken. It was implied he was shot during the scuffle, and that’s why he exited the car, so he could die outside.
@@aryachaudhury2787 he would’ve been a side character in the raid 3. Gareth Evans confirmed that, had a third film been made, it would’ve been about Bejos gang against the yakuza and would’ve been focused on the gang war between them rather than Rama himself. It’s probable that the yakuza brought him back to health or what not but rip to the raid franchise, because Gareth isn’t making anymore.
Eka is a legend, sacrificed himself to save Rama because he knew that Rama had the skill to do what needed to be adone

Eka was actually an undercover cop too however he grew too accustomed to the live and became fully committed to the gang.
We were supposed to see a further background to this in the third movie but sadly the Director has mentioned that there are no plans for a third one.

We need more appreciation for the actor, the man himself also play as the main role in Foxtrot Six
The coolest reload scenes is John Wick's, he reloaded in the middle of close fights. For this movie, the cool scene is when Eka is firing the opponent's helmet visor close range. Pure b4d 4ss.

I think that is reasonable to make difference .👍 or is it taste of action that makes difference?

That was the best car chase I've seen in a minute, and the scene where Eka swerves at the last moment to let the other driver run head first into the concrete bumper was insane. I gotta get these movies and watch them all the way through in context, I've been terrible about that.

When I first watched the raid it wasn't even in English, and it was still the best action movie I ever saw. The raid two was even better.
Most of the best action movies aren't in English. I recommend you check out some Chinese and French ones too, now that you've seen these Indonesian movies.
That is the most brutal and intense car chase scene I've ever seen in my life. Goosebumps the whole time.

Deadpool 1 clearly got inspired from this highway chase. Many shots from the Deadpool 1 highway chase are eerily similar. I don't get why nobody is mentioning it.

'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' was heavily inspired from The Raid 1's fighting too. What's shameful is that CATWS went on to compete against The Raid 2 at the Box Office because it came out around the same time.
Most action movies since TR1 and TR2 came out have been directly influenced by them to some extent or another but they never publicly give credit to The Raid.
Captain America and Winter Soldier too. The Nick Fury chase scene. Believe it or not the guys from the Raid worked on the action scenes in that movie
Eka is the toughest of the good guys after Rama, kept driving, fighting and shooting after being blasted with a shotgun at close range at least twice. Only the good die young...
Eka didn't die. He was wounded and got off at the abandoned part of town, after which Rama/Yuda drove to the events hall where the Bejo gang operated from.

Wow, that was an intense action set piece. And the music very much reminded me of the great music that was with the Russian car chase scene in the Bourne Supremacy. Very much enjoyed this scene and movie. Really top notch stuff. What a great Director this is who directed these 2 Raid movies. Really making a name for himself.
Personally, I would love for the Director of this movie to tackle the next James Bond movie. If there is one of course.

Gareth Evans got a great eye for action scenes. If this was handled by somebody else it wouldnt be that exciting. The choreography of the car chase is very simple but so well done and visceral.
