Following immediately after the events of THE RAID, Rama (Iko Uwais) is forced to reinvent himself as an undercover cop in order to provide protection for his wife and child. Working for the anti-corruption taskforce led by the one person he can trust, Bunawar, he is given a mission to engage himself as an enforcer for a local mob boss, Bangun. Finding a way in through Bangun's son Uco, Rama must hunt for information linking Bangun with police force corruption. All the while, he harbors a dangerous and personal vendetta for revenge and justice that threatens to consume him - and bring both this mission and the organized crime syndicates crashing down.

Rama has archieved what every criminal in Gotham has only ever dreamed of, he beat the Bat man
oi you cheeky wanka -_-"
Not only he beat the shit out of criminals, but also corrupted cops and politicians
@@robbyantonius2418 Yeah beat up the criminals it's just an ordinary thing but beating a corrupt police and politician, now that's an entertainment
@@Mystery_channel666 sadly no police internal affairs officers are brave enough to do that in real life
Er
My favorite fight in the whole movie, the way Rama is holding his own against not one but two deadly assassins at the same time is simply amazing.
Can you recommend an American movie comparable to the Raid?
@@RaphaelRemington6969 the funny thing is I absolutely can't, that just goes to show you that the people who made this movie and the 1st one knows how to film action masterfully.
Favorite fight scenes was the one right after this one
@@RaphaelRemington6969 hmm, John Wick? Jason Bourne? Those 2 are the only thing I could think of...
@@RaphaelRemington6969 lol no shot
You gotta admire Rama's skill for taking these two out without a weapon
That's probably what made it easier for him. They can't catch any of his blows, but he can catch all of theirs.
Technically if you think about it he killed both of them with a weapon 🤗……it was their weapons but still a weapon
That's why disarming is such a useful fighting tactic
Well basically. Just dont bring a weapon (the sharp ones expecially) to fight Rama if you dont want to taste a painful defeat from your own weapon
@@Warrior1Spartan now that's a smart answer.
I heard the only reason the Raid 3 isn't going to happen is because the Director legit thinks he can't do any better than he did here. He peaked and chose to leave the stage on a high note, and I respect the hell out of that. Too many artists fail to recognize when it's time to bow out with grace and be remembered as a legend.
He went on to do a film called Apostle, very good and well worth a watch. Also season 1 of Gangs of London.
Like John Wick 4 lmao
Ehem, transformers
@@jude6963 There's a difference between joining someone else's franchise for a paycheck, and letting your own rest when you think it's peaked. If other people want to jump the shark and pay him to help, dude's gotta pay his bills like the rest of us do lol.
@@صلاح-ح6و actually the Raid 2 supposed to be stand alone movie but they don't have a budget so they make The Raid to raise fund and make profit
The way the bat still sticks to his face after the final hit is just sooo brutal. Love the detail
He hit him straight in the mouth
i hate that bit
When I saw this in the theatre for the first time the whole audience laughed when the bat stayed lodged in his face 🤣
@@Tommcginn
My feeling is different at this moment, a moment of joy
Rama must have been one hell of a batter in high school.
I love how this is like a boss fight.
When you fight two boss enemies that clearly have a bond, the moment you kill the other one, the other enters Rage Mode and becomes more aggressive.
ace combat 7, rage and scream dogfight
DMC 3 when you didn't kill Agni and Rudra at the same time
More aggressive usually means less concentrated which ends in one own's defeat.
Ornstein and smough in movies
The whole movie is like a game!
dude you can seriously feel the pain from the bat guy after hammer girl gets killed. that actor really sent it through his voice, this feels like an ornstein and smough moment or something. so wild its only a 2 minute scene. so much gets told in so little time. this movie is outstanding
It's because she his sister.
I exactly thought the same about those guys and those boss in dark soul lol. After the first one is defeated, the second goes berserk and unleash is true power.
It's so easy for Indonesians to get to that state. Running amok is our go-to state when things got desperate. Fun fact: the word "Amok" comes from Malay and Indonesia, it's used to describe a state of mindless and uncontrollable rage, something that used to be so normal amongst the people of Malay race (like Indonesians, Malaysians, Bruneians, even Filipino), in that state, everything goes blank and the people in that state would grow freakishly strong and uncontrolled, similar to 'berserk'.
@@arthurmorganSUN I never knew this, thank you.
@@arthurmorganSUN that's also where the medicine amoxicillin got its name from. Because it's the most powerful antibiotic that works for almost any bacteria however it's side effects also affects many organs, thus the name suggests that it also 'runs Amok'
Let's Be Real, All cast members from The Raid could easily make the best Mortal Kombat Live-action.
Sadly they weren't able to properly shine in the movie itself. A 8-10episode series would suit mortal kombat a lot more than a movie. Too much to cram in making the movies too rushed or feeling empty.
Well this is nothing new too... as anything as a series is miles apart from the movie.... Hell look at JL-Snyder's Cut. a 4episode epic.
well, joe stalim is actually sub zero xd
For real.

Agreed. The stunts and martial arts in this film are second to none.
I don't know how they shot around this hallway, but they made it seem closed quarters.
0:43 The sequence where she drops the hammers to break Rama's grip with the back ends. It's the little things that make these fight scenes undefeated to this day and beyond.

I absolutely love the little detail thrown in where Baseball Bat Man's nuanced fighting style is completely abandoned when his sister is killed, instead going into a frenzy with fast and deadly, but predictable, moves. Usually in Martial Arts films, when someone goes into a blind rage, they increase their skill-level, whereas here, he lets his emotions kick-in too much, which I could imagine being the more likely outcome.
On that note, I recall the theater giving an uneasy chuckle when Rama lets go of the bat and it's still on the guy's face. What a seriously dark joke Gareth Evans put in there.
mouth full of baseball bat
Imagine if Bat-guy had fought with THAT kind of intensity the whole time....
My favorite thing about this entire scene is the beginning when Rama shows them he's not afraid by imposingly walking forward when he's told "Give me the ball."
Agreed. All anger, no fear.
Very true very fearless
character development. on the first Raid, Rama always tried his best to avoid bare hand fight against deadlie weapon, but here on second raid , His no longer afraid of that

Wha-
The brutal, no apology, high intensity nature of this fight scene just cannot be replicated.
Masterclass is martial arts cinematography
They achieved the feel of an actual 2 on 1 fight. A lot of times when they fight someone you see the other person kinda standing around or just moving and not attacking. But this they are both moving as long as they physically can. Makes it more realistic
And Rama himself knowing this moves with hyper-efficiency, keeping himself on top by making quick disabling moves as much as he can do he can move on to the next guy. Baseball bat man in particular keeps getting knocked down, whereas Hammer Girl who relies more on dexterity and skill proves trickier each time. Really no action like Raid ultimately, honestly not even John Wick's action comes close (and I am a huge JW fan)
the only reason is because they're super in sync with each other, most low-level thugs would probably just end up hurting their friends. The "standing around" is looking for an opening that you can not only hurt your opponent in, but also make sure you're not getting in the way of your comrades, ESPECIALLY your higher-ranked comrades
you even see how dangerous it is for a group to go "all out" against a dangerous singular opponent due to Hammer Girl almost smashing Baseball Bat Man's face with Rama merely inverting his position.

This is pure blood rushing, adrenaline pumping, top notch action.
The way the fight seems so ferocious and vicious in its strikes says a lot about how the actors/actress put their true effort in the fight
Hammer girl is the real stand-out here, complex and fluid at the same time, everything feels real. I read somewhere that the actress had just started learning martial arts for this role, that's some outstanding talent and potential.
She act on "The Night Come For Us" as The Operator.. She have good fight scene too in there..

Alternate ending :
Rama returned the ball.
"Hey thanks!" Rama walked away while the 2 continued playing baseball.
I love that this scene kinda shows how to beat these two without telling you. The siblings(?) lose all their cool if the other one is in peril. Once Hammer Girl went down the fight was all but over. Rama redirects all that blind rage against Bat.
They are siblings. They were raised by an abusive father, he’s the reason her eye was deformed.
Take down Hammer Girl first, the strategy wiki would say. As you can tell, Baseball bat man is stronger and tankier but relies more on power and force and has much more predictable telegraphed moves which you can parry and counter to disable him for a few seconds. Whereas Hammer Girl is weaker but much trickier, more dexterous, and with a large variety of moves and grip changes. Warning: once you take down HG, BBM goes into Berserk mode and becomes much stronger and faster, make sure you are able to avoid his moves and take him down quick after that.
And even then it didn't mean he was just totally out of it.
He became incredibly predictable but his rage turned him into a nonstop swinging machine that could've turned him into paste if he hadn't caught his arm and taken the bat quickly.
I blame this movie and its predecessor. Now I can't totally enjoy most of Hollywood action movies without comparing their choreography and cinematography to this masterpiece.

@@azmyyanuar80 Okay film history I meant ;-)
I love how these two are built up as these unstoppable master assassins, and then they're just totally outclassed by Rama, and don't realise how out their depth they are until it's too late. The fact they approached this fight "just like the others" shows how they underestimated him, then he shuts down all their usual tactics and they don't know how to deal with it, then the panic sets in when he comes in for the kill.
notice there's no single piece of glass getting hit by either baseball bat and hammers
shows that these two assassins actually had some skills and good weapon handling
I love how this film builds up the "boss fighters" and then Rama takes them all on back to back 😂
