Hearing your story brought me to tears. It's heartbreaking to think that there are millions of people with similar and worse experiences still in North Korea today, and instead of taking you and other survivor's words as a warning we seem to keep heading into that same downward Spiral. God bless you for continuing to spread this truth

  • @drop_messages6226

I grew up in the 1990s, to me, communism is what the USSR WAS all about (and it failed). I saw communism as some kind of alternate economic plan. When I went to university, I met some professors who were American and true believers in communism. While I accepted it was an ideology they agreed with, I did not agree with it (to each their own). Then it occurred to me, the very few people I knew who like the idea of communism, never offered up a plan to make it into a reality. In fact, all so called "communists" ever did, was complained about capitalism, but never offered a better or more efficient way to run society.
I became even more disillusioned with communism and went from seeing it as a failed economic system, to a bad ideology that was not even a proper type of economy. To me, communism is just complaining, without any solid plan for a better alternative. I work in health care, I am good at my job, because I work hard and understand the science behind what I do. I would not be a better nurse by being "woke".

What a remarkable woman. She is so captivating and her story brought me to tears. Every single woke feminist in the western would should listen to her speak and then tell me how their lives are so oppressed and unfair; how a big bad man called them "honey" or how someone used the wrong pronouns and it hurt their feelings.. toughen up people. Let this woman be an inspiration to you. The human species is way more resilient than you think.

This might just be the most harrowing personal account of suffering by the hands/machinations of corrupted humanity I've ever heard. My heart breaks for her, and yet it is followed almost immediately by a seething, visceral disgust for all the squealing socialist-simping asshats here in my own country that pine for the illusory utopia that they think they are cheering for. Man... Im glad she saw her efforts and suffering compensated by making it here.

I feel you, son. In the early 1980s I served in the USAF's Strategic Air Command. Our B52s and Minuteman III ICBMs stood poised 24/7/365 to unleash Armageddon against any Marxist enemy who would dare attack us or our NATO and Commonwealth allies. We made sure the bolshie rascals knew it well so they wouldn't get any bright ideas. When Mr Gorbachev tore down that wall we high fived and thought it was mission accomplished, SAC disbanded as a major command in 1991.
Now we see our youngsters agitating for the same malignant ideology we defended their parents and grandparents against back in the day and wonder how the !@#$%&THAT happened????

Recent incidents of forced repatriation of North Korean defectors in China are indeed deeply shocking. China's apparent disregard for the fact that these North Koreans could face severe consequences, even death, upon their return to North Korea is a clear violation of human values and human rights, which understandably arouses anger among people around the world.
What's even more infuriating, however, is not just China's actions but also the indifference within South Korea itself. It's incredibly difficult to fathom the callous attitude towards fellow countrymen and North Korean defectors who are suffering right next door. Even as our compatriots starve to death or face deportation in China, it's bewildering how some Koreans can simply turn a blind eye and offer no assistance.
I recently came across a post on a Korean community page on Facebook where someone expressed their anger over the unjust loss of innocent lives in Palestine due to the ongoing war. It's heartbreaking to witness innocent lives being lost in far-off countries due to war. However, at the same time, it's deeply hypocritical to see some Koreans display such empathy for distant tragedies while remaining indifferent to the suffering of their own neighbours.
How can we empathize with the tragedies happening far away while ignoring the very real suffering of those right next to us? This selective interest and indifference come across as cold-hearted and hypocritical.

Hearing amazing people like her talk is the precise reason I become so infuriated listening to pampered little brat American citizens whine and complain about how "hard" they have it and how "they're oppressed". People like that would crumble under the most minute amount of actual oppression. And it's even worse that the mainstream media is pushing the same narrative. It is a privelige to be an American citizen. There is NO American citizen that is not priveliged. I'm sick of people doing their best to be a victim. My mother raised me to always take responsibility for myself, my situation. Even if I get hit by a car while legally crossing a road. One way or another, I put myself there and it's my fault. Yes, there is fault elsewhere, but I cannot control that. I can control ME.
