Yeonmi Park: While Time Remains

  • North Korean defector Yeonmi Park joins Socrates in the City host Eric Metaxas to discuss her latest book WHILE TIME REMAINS. In this uniquely sobering SITC interview, Ms. Park details her early years: foraging for plants and eating bugs to stay alive in "Socialist Paradise," her family's involvement in the black market, escaping to China and being sold into slavery, and seeking freedom in South Korea by way of the Gobi Desert. The conversation then moves to Yeonmi's time studying at Columbia University in New York City. With insight from her time spent in a dictatorship filled with indoctrination, censorship, and mob rule, Park speaks to the current American landscape.
The interview took place on March 30th, 2023 - 16 years to the day of her escape from North Korea in 2007 - at the Union League Club in New York City.

My family too escaped communism. The current globalist agenda is attempting to bring North Korea to the rest of the world via the "New World Order" or new communism aka the Stalinist regime. Americans need to wake up because it is on our doorstep.

Like she said, she read George Orwell. Sadly, we are living in a 1984, & ALDOUS HUXLEY'S BRAVE NEW WORLD, right now. Newspeak, the war in Urasia , er the Ukraine, is going well. 100's of children were incinerated, er kidnapped, in the Hawaiian fire. Have we got some meds for you to take, er forced to take. They steal 90% of the money we give them in taxes, er extorted. All the elections are fair, er rigged, because we don't use paper ballots & we're not allowed to see them all counted. Ect, ect... but shhhh! don't dare say anything less you get canceled, loose your job, have you bank account frozen, or be convicted of a crime you didn't do, and get 30 years, because we want to male an example out of you. . . So, shhhhh.

Exactly, just come to America, get the US Citizenship and then start a Cultural Clash (against diversity and progressives),
which is basically the gateway drug into right-wing populism.
The US LIBERAL Democracy must be happy to have that cynical right-winger from North Korea.
And even Tony Montana from Scarface couldnt have done it better.

Scary. I love listening to your interviews and can't wait to get your book.❤ God bless you. You are truly living out God's plan for your life.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't bet on it since most people aren't even aware of what's happening. They are totally asleep and can't see the very strong globalist communist New World Order agenda going on throughout the world right now including in America, one example is Agenda 2025 and Agenda 2030. People are very easily mislead and fooled.

She is very intelligent no doubt. Someone who is not born American and able to speak English fluently? But what is amazing is her concepts and understanding of things, of issues concerning about everything about life. Incredible mind, almost a genius. She should be in the politic to shame those who are in power but cannot see what injustices is

What an inspiration. She is a remarkable survivor. How dare we let this country, the best country the world go down this horrible road. I admire her bravery and her gratitude to be in THIS country, but she hasn't stopped there, she is trying to make us understand that what she went through IS happening here. We ignore her at our own peril. God bless and protect her.

As Cuban I understand 💯 every word she says, propaganda , indoctrination, lack of freedom, etc. The only difference between Cuba and North Korea is the weather, Cuba is a Tropical country, at least in summer time we have mangoes and also we are an island, but don’t forget that we can go to prison for eating lobster 🦞 or beef 🥩. ( My favorite food now 😊).
