I like how in Halo Reach the melee was actually a part of the animation, they would get stunned by the melee so they wouldn't be able to defend themselves against the attacker. Also the fact that you can actually see the Spartan take the combat knife out of its holder and then put it back, unlike Halo 4 and 5 where it just appears in their hand
in reach knife appeard in thin air too but the knife lore wise is in a hidden wrist compartment ;)

In halo 4 and 5 they had the technology for that to happen. Look at the halo 5 trailers. Chief/Locke Have it gravitate into their hand. Same for knives

It's possible (but only just) to *assassinate* *Drones* (Buggers/Yanme'e). Like Brutes, you need a *distraction.*
I've only seen it once (air assassination): Your Spartan tears apart the Drone's limbs, causing them to explode (like when you headshot them).
I searched it up and never saw someone do it :( I wish it was real :(

you missed the rare assassination. if an elite is throwing a grenade and you go to assasinate you actually have a roughly 0.015% of grabbing the grenade and pushing it into the elites mouth. then jumping back before it explodes. i saw my friend do it while in a match. crazy cool.

I like the system this game uses. The target of the attack switches from animated to ragdoll before they reach where ground level should be, and that way they react realistically when falling off a cliff or hitting the ground.

How the hell does a spartan stab through a hard as hell helmet with a knife
It's a armor piercing knife, not just a regular blade, also people forget that Spartans are strong enough to lift tanks like the person inside is extremely strong cuz the argumentations but the armor is extremely powerful, see how he took that elites head and snaped it with ease, sangheili are very big creatures between 7-9 feet tall, in the books a regular marine was smashed from the inside when wearing the the Mark V Spartan armor, because he had no argumentations, the armor itself actually moves itself when sensing muscle movement of the wearer.

If you think about it for a minute the Spartans are really tall especially the elites ,the energy sword is almost the size of the spartan so how big would the energy sword be against an average human?

Cut assassinations don't count, if we were counting those, I missed one for the Hunter, one for the Spartans, two for marines, and one for the Guta.

You missed the BEST animations though! Like, when a teammate attempts to steal your kill via melee, but the knife touches them so you get a betrayal with it! Or, a grunt stands too close to a vehicle or hunter and you clip the animation into that, taking it out with! Oh, sorry, forgot to mention "environmental" takedowns like, tackling the elite into a wall / crate canceling the animation early and propelling the body really far in the opposite direction. Extra credit for tackling into oncoming vehicles!

staryoshi06 Well. Hunters really CAN’T have an assassination animation seeing as they are made up of many individual worms and you would have to kill all if not most in order to actually kill it. So it’s technically impossible to kill one with just a knife. Logically that is.

staryoshi06 But now that I’m back, I might as well tell you that I was actually wrong, it can be possible to assassinate a Hunter if you were to stick a grenade in it. So yes, it’s possible for Hunters yo have an assassination.

How can a knife pierce through spartan armor?
They go through the undersuits and not the armor itself, also Energy Daggers behave just like energy swords, can pierce through mostly anything.

Looking at it now it does make sense because brutes have an animalistic sense of smell and attitude about them so it would be hard to get the jump on them.
