When most people do a 10 minute video out of a 10 second drag race, I roll my eyes. But when Jason Cammisa does a 10 minute video of a 10 second drag race, I am here for every second of it.
i swear! i’ve had the chances to hear it numerous times in person it sounds so good. never been a fan of the base model C8 but the ZO6 looks so good to me
agreed. leave the forced induction for the ZR1, so that it can truly be a monster compared to the Z06. apparently the C8 ZR1 will have twin turbos, easily making 800+ hp, probably will rev even higher to squeeze more power out too.
Goodness... the production. I think the fact that Hagerty simultaneously produces this epic content as well as more grass-roots videos is pretty amazing.
Actually it’s garbage. This is nothing but production value. It’s less about cars and more about pageantry. You think Carroll Shelby would’ve watched this trash? Nah these folks are more into cameras and computers than cars.
I’m amazed at the launch the E Ray has! It just took off and sounded great doing it. I didn’t think I’d ever see a Corvette pull off something like that!
The engineers have been trying to do it since the '60s, the bean counters and board room wouldn't let them bring their midengine prototype cars to market though. Looks like Zora Duntov's spirit is getting the last laugh after all!

As the owner of a C8 myself as well as a 911 turbo S and past owner of a Lambo and Ferrari I can tell you there is a lot more to a car than how fast it is. My 8 is still a Chevy behind the dash and under the body. I have twin turbos on mine from Jotech Motorsports and it has 780HP now, and it's still a Chevy and I'm selling it and keeping the 992 911. Ferrari's quote is true

The E-Ray is the perfect every day commuter for me, AWD, electric PLUS Chevy LS (LT) extreme reliability, thr bad ass Z06 wide body , a hybrid carbon ceramic brake system thst last a ton longer and better 0-60, 1/4 , street performance than the z06. Perfection! I’ve daily driven 6 corvettes from 3 generations now and the ERay I’d love to be my next!

Big congrats on giving an italian fist thrust to the italians by renting their cars independently! I've only heard how hard it is to wrangle cars for performance testing without manufacturer approval, and that was probably a massive headache! Awesome video as always!
And when they do, Ferrari has a crew of 10 techs that come with the car. Unlike the Z06 and GT3 RS where they have an intern drop of the car and a Coors or Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte is on the seat for the testers enjoyment.
@@Peanutdenver yeah Ferrari thinks being overprotective and vauge about their cars is maintaining their prestigious image but it's really not. I comes off as insecure and bitter. The other brands and their engineers are proud of the cars they design and build, and they're confident that their work will speak for itself.

Holy crap, 2.4 seconds. I've experienced 3.5 seconds in a heavily modded Mitsubishi, and was mind-boggled. These speeds are literally breathtaking, and few get to actually experience it, racing three sub-3-second cars against each other makes you lose just how fast they actually are. I know Tesla is a thing, but those are out of reach for most people as well. I would love to see a video where they compare something like the current Z06 to its ancestors like the ZR1 from the 90s, just to really demonstrate how far we've come in even just my lifetime. I'd also love to see one of these videos where they compare the E-Ray to the best-selling hybrid of all times. Nearly everyone has been in a Prius, and everyone knows what 9-seconds to 60 feels and looks like. Now show them just how slow it actually is. That would actually be a challenging video to shoot, but if someone can do it and make it look awesome, Cammisa and the wizards over at Hagerty can.
To be fair, the Tesla Model 3 performance is sub 3 seconds as well. It's incomparable to these cars, but at well under USD 50k it's a performance bargain.

Between student debt, mortgage, medical bills, all the expenses of having a kiddo, and the cost of groceries, I cannot afford a $50k car (well, I probably could technically, but I'm not irresponsible enough to take out that absurd of a loan on a heavily depreciating asset). And we make well over the median household income. Even $50k is out of reach for the average Joe.
Jason's videos at this point are like coffee to me, I'll go crazy if he doesn't stop making them. The amount of work and effort you put into these videos is insane!! Thank you so much for making these!
800 HP twin turbo - RWD only in the ZR1. It will not have the electric front motors. The Zora will be even higher-end than the ZR1 and will have more HP from the V8 and also electric motors on the front, which may be more powerful than those of the E-ray. 1000 HP+ on the Zora. But the Zora will have an MSRP of like $250K.

not really, it's the same results 25 years later, Corvette have been making W's against the direct european competition since the late 90's, it's nothing new.
The 2019 ZR1 beat the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS at VIR and held the record for over a year until the Senna beat it. The Porsche even has better tire compound yet it still lost. Even the AMG GT Black Series with better tire compound only net 250ms faster. Corvettes always compete with the world's best

@@Stevensalcido The guy is on crack, the ZR1 was almost 2 seconds slower than the GT2RS, and the Senna is almost 3 seconds faster than the GT2RS. So the Senna isn't "barely" faster than the ZR1, it's a solid 4.6 seconds faster. Not only that but the GTR Black Series is a solid 2.5 seconds faster than the ZR1, so I'm not sure where this guy is getting his numbers. The ZR1 is now even beaten by the new and cheaper Z06, although it is still extremely impressive that 2 Corvettes are even in competition with companies like Porsche and McLaren.

I am fairly certain they do the race, then line it up again and simply roll the cars very slowly with Camissa walking next to it with the dialogue. Pretty brilliant and makes it looks like he's time shifting, lol
@@BrianRoediger Perhaps, but I don't think that's the case. None of those cars can move that slowly under power. There's no 0.75mph mode in a Ferrari or Corvette or...anything outside a tractor/harvester.
@@jeebus2121 The main straight is slightly downhill. Put the car into neutral, shut off the engine so you don't hear it idling on the audio and boom it's creeping along slowly. Fun fact: The Bugatti Chiron can't do this. It's subtle, but you hear it's engine idling in Jason's mic.
Random bits of editing extras like the lighting at 1:35 are just some of the things that make this channel's production value so ahead of the curve. This could easily be a cable television show
@A Christian why would they do that? The GT2RS ended production in 2019. And the price difference between the Corvette and the GT3 is already massive. It makes sense that they use those cars. Anyway, I just want them to bring that Ducati and Josh Herrin to see what he can do against the cars

Jason and the Hagerty channel puts out amazing video content! With that said, I'd take the Corvette E-Ray over the Z06, simply because of the potential of having the classic, deep rumbling V-8 exhaust note, which I'll choose ANY DAY over the way the Z06 sounds.

Insane Production Quality. A single video has to cost $20,000-$50,000 I would venture to say if not more. How they’re getting a return on this investment is beyond me. Most channels who do this can’t sustain such a high bar because TH-cam doesn’t exactly pay out enough to make a profit. Hopefully this channel continues and thrives because they have a special recipe here. Many including myself would gladly pay $5 or so monthly to keep this thing alive. Cheers! 🖤
Imagine what the E-Ray might be able to do with some tuning to the electric motors and ICE. I hope someone finds a way to modify the ECU, especially because Chevy has made it pretty challenging.
Having met and chatted with Randy Pobst a few years back, I was duly impressed with what a great guy he is. Can't wait to see him wring out the GT3 RS.
Yeah it isn't just for the camera, he was in the middle of eating lunch and said he would drive me around in my Mazdaspeed 3 at VIR years ago at a track day. What a ride and he was chatting the entire time pushing it to its limit and beating his friend following us in an E46 M3. I sat passenger to few race drivers over the years but none as down to earth and talented as Mr. Pobst! I almost forgot he had his track prepped 911 Turbo there and he was just letting his friends take out for hot laps, he really is a genuine good guy.

Dude the zo6 doesn’t compete against the sf90 or revuelto those cars are in a different league however the awd huracan would’ve been a much better comparison but the eray is still slightly faster
not hard to choose. the new z06 is probably one of the best sounding v8's ever and also THE best sounding car in this decade and likely all the ones that come afterward
@@hazardeur It's a bit of a stretch in my view when you say one of best sounding V8's, especially when there's the NA V8's from Ferrari (also Ferrari's turbocharged V8 in F40 and 288gto), Maserati, AMG, Aston Martin and supercharged V8 from Jaguar. It does sound good compared to current cars but then again currently most cars are turbocharged and a NA engine would obviously sound better than a turbocharged engine.
@@amarjit_singh_ i was talking about the 2020's decade. did ferrari do a non turbocharged car? i don't know. last sound i really liked from them was the 458 and this car is trying to replicate it so that's a huge win in my book. this blows the astons and amg's out of the water. they sound different, deep and growly. this here sounds insane, like a race car. The jag is ok but it's nowwhere near as good sounding, it's just very loud. still impressive thoiugh, don't get me wrong.

The Corvette would win, the Ferrari would be second, and the Lamborghini would be last. Keep in mind the E-Ray also has aero options similar to the Z07 package, but they haven't said much about it yet

Why not use an awd huracan there are plenty of them out there. Probably cause the results would of been different. Videos like this are staged to get clicks.
Amazing as those stats are, looking at how bundled Jason is, and knowing how FUBAR the Southern California weather was this year compared to usual, just imagine what the tires could have done with more optimal temperatures.
Corvette has scared all the Euro competition at this point they know they can’t compete with the Corvette for price for performance. And what’s amazing is the ZR1 isn’t even out yet.
You don't need "bangs for bucks" when it says Ferrari on the car...They are not selling a performance, they're selling a brand. Same goes for the very luxury German sedans.

@@craigthescott5074 Everyone has their buying logic and desires :) If you're talking price for performance the Tesla Plaid is faster and a tad cheaper. When it comes to being a good sports car, the Corvette E Ray is undoubtedly better than a sedan, but it will take a few laps on the tracks to show us that against the category benchmarks.

Big congrats on giving an italian fist thrust to the italians by renting their cars independently! I've only heard how hard it is to wrangle cars for performance testing without manufacturer approval, and that was probably a massive headache! Awesome video as always!
And when they do, Ferrari has a crew of 10 techs that come with the car. Unlike the Z06 and GT3 RS where they have an intern drop of the car and a Coors or Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte is on the seat for the testers enjoyment.
@@Peanutdenver yeah Ferrari thinks being overprotective and vauge about their cars is maintaining their prestigious image but it's really not. I comes off as insecure and bitter. The other brands and their engineers are proud of the cars they design and build, and they're confident that their work will speak for itself.

Holy crap, 2.4 seconds. I've experienced 3.5 seconds in a heavily modded Mitsubishi, and was mind-boggled. These speeds are literally breathtaking, and few get to actually experience it, racing three sub-3-second cars against each other makes you lose just how fast they actually are. I know Tesla is a thing, but those are out of reach for most people as well. I would love to see a video where they compare something like the current Z06 to its ancestors like the ZR1 from the 90s, just to really demonstrate how far we've come in even just my lifetime. I'd also love to see one of these videos where they compare the E-Ray to the best-selling hybrid of all times. Nearly everyone has been in a Prius, and everyone knows what 9-seconds to 60 feels and looks like. Now show them just how slow it actually is. That would actually be a challenging video to shoot, but if someone can do it and make it look awesome, Cammisa and the wizards over at Hagerty can.
But tesla is still slower than the lucid air sapphire. Any tesla.

To be fair, the Tesla Model 3 performance is sub 3 seconds as well. It's incomparable to these cars, but at well under USD 50k it's a performance bargain.

Between student debt, mortgage, medical bills, all the expenses of having a kiddo, and the cost of groceries, I cannot afford a $50k car (well, I probably could technically, but I'm not irresponsible enough to take out that absurd of a loan on a heavily depreciating asset). And we make well over the median household income. Even $50k is out of reach for the average Joe.

800 HP twin turbo - RWD only in the ZR1. It will not have the electric front motors. The Zora will be even higher-end than the ZR1 and will have more HP from the V8 and also electric motors on the front, which may be more powerful than those of the E-ray. 1000 HP+ on the Zora. But the Zora will have an MSRP of like $250K.

not really, it's the same results 25 years later, Corvette have been making W's against the direct european competition since the late 90's, it's nothing new.
The 2019 ZR1 beat the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS at VIR and held the record for over a year until the Senna beat it. The Porsche even has better tire compound yet it still lost. Even the AMG GT Black Series with better tire compound only net 250ms faster. Corvettes always compete with the world's best

@@Stevensalcido The guy is on crack, the ZR1 was almost 2 seconds slower than the GT2RS, and the Senna is almost 3 seconds faster than the GT2RS. So the Senna isn't "barely" faster than the ZR1, it's a solid 4.6 seconds faster. Not only that but the GTR Black Series is a solid 2.5 seconds faster than the ZR1, so I'm not sure where this guy is getting his numbers. The ZR1 is now even beaten by the new and cheaper Z06, although it is still extremely impressive that 2 Corvettes are even in competition with companies like Porsche and McLaren.

@@BrianRoediger Perhaps, but I don't think that's the case. None of those cars can move that slowly under power. There's no 0.75mph mode in a Ferrari or Corvette or...anything outside a tractor/harvester.
@@jeebus2121 The main straight is slightly downhill. Put the car into neutral, shut off the engine so you don't hear it idling on the audio and boom it's creeping along slowly.
Fun fact: The Bugatti Chiron can't do this. It's subtle, but you hear it's engine idling in Jason's mic.

Jason and the Hagerty channel puts out amazing video content! With that said, I'd take the Corvette E-Ray over the Z06, simply because of the potential of having the classic, deep rumbling V-8 exhaust note, which I'll choose ANY DAY over the way the Z06 sounds.

Insane Production Quality.
A single video has to cost $20,000-$50,000 I would venture to say if not more. How they’re getting a return on this investment is beyond me. Most channels who do this can’t sustain such a high bar because TH-cam doesn’t exactly pay out enough to make a profit.
Hopefully this channel continues and thrives because they have a special recipe here. Many including myself would gladly pay $5 or so monthly to keep this thing alive. Cheers! 🖤
u do know most videos have a sponsor to offset some if not all of the costs right? plus these vids get plenty of views. so they makin money still.
Imagine what the E-Ray might be able to do with some tuning to the electric motors and ICE. I hope someone finds a way to modify the ECU, especially because Chevy has made it pretty challenging.

Having met and chatted with Randy Pobst a few years back, I was duly impressed with what a great guy he is. Can't wait to see him wring out the GT3 RS.
Yeah it isn't just for the camera, he was in the middle of eating lunch and said he would drive me around in my Mazdaspeed 3 at VIR years ago at a track day. What a ride and he was chatting the entire time pushing it to its limit and beating his friend following us in an E46 M3. I sat passenger to few race drivers over the years but none as down to earth and talented as Mr. Pobst! I almost forgot he had his track prepped 911 Turbo there and he was just letting his friends take out for hot laps, he really is a genuine good guy.

Dude the zo6 doesn’t compete against the sf90 or revuelto those cars are in a different league however the awd huracan would’ve been a much better comparison but the eray is still slightly faster

@@hazardeur It's a bit of a stretch in my view when you say one of best sounding V8's, especially when there's the NA V8's from Ferrari (also Ferrari's turbocharged V8 in F40 and 288gto), Maserati, AMG, Aston Martin and supercharged V8 from Jaguar. It does sound good compared to current cars but then again currently most cars are turbocharged and a NA engine would obviously sound better than a turbocharged engine.
@@amarjit_singh_ i was talking about the 2020's decade. did ferrari do a non turbocharged car? i don't know. last sound i really liked from them was the 458 and this car is trying to replicate it so that's a huge win in my book. this blows the astons and amg's out of the water. they sound different, deep and growly. this here sounds insane, like a race car. The jag is ok but it's nowwhere near as good sounding, it's just very loud. still impressive thoiugh, don't get me wrong.

The Corvette would win, the Ferrari would be second, and the Lamborghini would be last. Keep in mind the E-Ray also has aero options similar to the Z07 package, but they haven't said much about it yet

Why not use an awd huracan there are plenty of them out there. Probably cause the results would of been different. Videos like this are staged to get clicks.

Amazing as those stats are, looking at how bundled Jason is, and knowing how FUBAR the Southern California weather was this year compared to usual, just imagine what the tires could have done with more optimal temperatures.
Corvette has scared all the Euro competition at this point they know they can’t compete with the Corvette for price for performance. And what’s amazing is the ZR1 isn’t even out yet.
You don't need "bangs for bucks" when it says Ferrari on the car...They are not selling a performance, they're selling a brand. Same goes for the very luxury German sedans.
@@mr_exia sorry but when I buy a supercar I expect performance for the money I could care less about what badge is on the hood. I could also care less about the status symbol I want the car to perform. The C8 is simply the most performance for the money in the world.

When it comes to being a good sports car, the Corvette E Ray is undoubtedly better than a sedan, but it will take a few laps on the tracks to show us that against the category benchmarks.
