SUGGESTION: With drag races,try to add rolling drag races from 30-40kmph speed,Brake test, increase length of track etc
This will surely make Autocar drag races perfect

There's not any huge difference between them, both were similar in terms of power and the difference between them is quite negligible when compared to real world as 0.1 sec won't be detrimental factor for the purchase.........words coming from a vw polo owner

VW has muted the transmission in at lower speeds, possibly due to mileage and longevity concerns. But once you are past slow city speeds, the DSG becomes way more characterful. Having driven this combo in T-Roc and owning Taigun GT, I could feel the difference the way vehicle performs initially. With the T-Roc tune, I believe this would have been one sided race.

Love your drag races but just a suggestion, Please take ideas from the Carwow channel for this. That's the best channel for drag races. Instead of just conducting drag races from stand still, you can also have rolling drag races and also a braking test. That'll give a much better idea about the car. Please have as many drag races as possible. You'll get so many views. There are still no Indian channels that upload drag races regularly on an airstrip so there's a huge opportunity that Autocar India can capitalize on and at the end of the day it would just be a treat for all the car lovers ❤️

We are using VW Taigun (1.0 AT) as a spare car in the family. Very impressed overall 👍🏻 getting around 10.8-11.6kmpl in city (full tank check) (not tested on highways yet)

It doesn’t have typical VW Horn as before so I replaced it to get a proper feel of VW cars 😆 (stock horn was like a scooter horn 🤪)
I own a Taigun too, 22kmpl on highways. But I have a 1.0 MT.
The taigun’s your spare which others cars do y’all use
I would like to know with which horn you replaced with that sounds like the VWs of 2011. Thinking of 1.5GT but missing quite some features is keeping me thinking, Slavia and Virtus and they are likely to have the same sounding horn.
That 1.5 TSI engine is something else really.
I thought Taigun will win but loved how good Seltos was.
Reasons:
More power and torque
Less weight
Smaller size
Less drag coefficient
Faster DSG
But Seltos's DCT seems to be a tad bit faster at launch
Taigun is more aerodynamic which helps it in higher speed.
That stance of both cars captured from the rear end on the dragstrip... 🔥
what a shame to vw inspite being 10 hp more and 8nm more than the seltos ,and the seltos being heavier it was a close call between both of them and this shows how kia and hyundai are keeping up with the germans

That was unexpected
Thought the Kia had it’s revenge for the fallen against Taiguns brother Polo
But no, even the Seltos failed
I thought it was evident with the numbers and expected, except that the turbo lag difference of 100rpm for the VW
Taigun is such a small car and is worth being compared to Brezza and Kushaq.
Seltos can be matched with only Creta right now in terms of their sizes.

Recently brought a vw taigun 1.5 DSG ...really love its handling and power but not so much with interior quality or stiff suspension
Seltos suspension is even stiffer. I'm assuming, you don't like the noisy suspension in Taigun.
Both are better than kushaq and kicks it seems. Surprised to see the seltos with a dct launched so well!!
Seltos turbo manual has the fastest autocar 0-100kmhr time under 20lkh cars for now
Kushaq also same engine. Kicks CVT engine, both are better than seltos and creta.
No unnecessary chit chats and just pure drag race.. througly enjoyed it.

Never expected the Seltos to win cause its a saying that VW makes best DSGs. Even with less power to wgt ratio, the KIA won :). Even though i dont own a KIA, it still wins hearts of Indians and it didnt disappoint here too. Good work KIA. Also, waiting for Carens to be another chartbuster
It won only because it launches better . Anything after the launch is taken by VAG cars ! You’ll see from the previous drag between skoda kushaq and Renault, once the kushaq is out of the lag it starts to catch the renault ! Same goes for this , once the lag is overcome it starts to catch the other car I’m not sure why there’s no launch control but has to probably do with increasing longevity of the DSG unit !

Seltos didn't win.. Volkswagen won, in the first race, the drivers got a hand...the VW is faster
Taigun didn't launch well in the first round. If this race is repeated 10 times instead of 3, I'm sure Taigun will win 8 times out of 10

Autocar, you should add a rolling race also to these kind of videos, like carwow. Cars in these segments don’t come with launch control. The launch is often dependent on the type of transmission and powerband. It will be interesting to see how these two perform when powering through 2nd and 3rd gears. Most people who buy them will actually get to experience the drive like this only.
Please do one of Seltos Diesel Automatic!

In comparison with kia taigun is less on looks, bad interiors, small car size, less inside space, more expensive service, gearbox failure issues.
A really close race would really appreciate Kia even after having dct it’s launching quick like a TC at the end both are good cars but for true enthusiasts it’s taigun but seltos is no less
