True, it's not Lotus Elise or some track lightweight car, but a great car to enjoy it on longer rides. It makes no sense to me to save like 20 kilos or less and spec it without aircon when the car still has cupholders, lol.
I think probably 95% of the buyers would choose a/c at least but there are some that want it as ultimate as you can possibly get it. It has a sticker badge on the hood for God's sake!
Never been a Porsche fan, growing up in the 80`s, the 911 models always had a reputation of danger with the engine at the rear. A car for only those who seemed to gel with it. That being said they seemed to have made them much safer to drive and this 911 R looks simply stunning in my eyes.

nlorant99 just like the bmw did with their Csl model to save a few pound in weight that'll have a big impact on the performance I'm sure 🤔 and a nav isn't particularly a comfort feature, nothing soft and luxurious about it, just an everyday standard item so I wouldn't see that as a problem myself, saves having to distract yourself with your phone & Google maps or Apples version if you use that

2 days ago I went to the circuit in Zandvoort (Netherlands) and there was a 911R parked up. I saw the white car with the red stripes, and I was like: "this kinda looks like the car shmee just made a video about". So I went up to the car and looked inside to see if it was a 6 speed manual, and it was. So I looked at the back and I saw the 911R badge. That was the first time I ever recognised a Porsche's type xD

there are five types of cars, but you have to get the best of all worlds: 1::lap time nordschleife 2: going fast and comfortably on the Autobahn >200km/h 3: havin fun on B roads 4: have a reaaallly big trunk 5: be really cheap I love BMW, and a 535d Touring is really nice, but I think, you should get a Subaru Legacy or Impreza WRX forget those I4, V6 and V8 options, they will have terrible vibrations, you need to get a straight 6 or a Boxer engine instead

Over time my guess is they will drop in value. honestly, its absurd deleting the air conditioning and infotainment. Yes this is a car for the driving experience, but this limits you for taking it out for longer drives, and you wont even notice the weight difference. Look at Salomondrin's 911R, despite the horrendous wrap, the interior is perfect.

And most of them will never be tracked or even driven much on the road. Collectors have become the nemesis of those who would have possibly been able to buy one at list price to DRIVE them. Porsche itself is not helping. Their "limited editions" should be limited to "as many as we can sell".

It makes it a hell of a lot faster. It's dead weight. Not only that, when you have the A/C on during hot days, you lose horsepower. Remember, it's a raw car meant for a raw experience. It's not a luxury car.
It's a nice car, but the used prices are just insane for what it is (a GT3 with a manual box and some cosmetic changes). Also, a non air con car in the south of France in summer is probably a bad idea.
I would want A/C and nav to be honest,the extra weight is easily offset by a more usable drive. That said,it must be an epic car as every review I have watched heaps praise on it.

dont understand people who spec it without AC and without radio, navi etc?! i know it saves weight, but you are probably bringing a bag, a girl, or whatever anyway? And unless your hamilton around the nurburgring, i dont really think you would notice the difference in power weight ratio

And most of them will never be tracked or even driven much on the road. Collectors have become the nemesis of those who would have possibly been able to buy one at list price to DRIVE them. Porsche itself is not helping. Their "limited editions" should be limited to "as many as we can sell".
I don't get why the person would take out the air conditioner. I mean it might make it 0.00003 secs faster. seems kinda dumb.

It makes it a hell of a lot faster. It's dead weight. Not only that, when you have the A/C on during hot days, you lose horsepower. Remember, it's a raw car meant for a raw experience. It's not a luxury car.
hope next gen 911 will be an electrical option, bored with my dinosaur juice 991.1 already. driving tesla every day now.

It's a nice car, but the used prices are just insane for what it is (a GT3 with a manual box and some cosmetic changes). Also, a non air con car in the south of France in summer is probably a bad idea.
it is ironic that the 991.2 GT3 is for people who can't buy 911R but somehow i think the new GT3 is slightly better than this.
I’m way more interested in that GTS right next to it. 911 r is overrated especially because the new touring package for the gt3

I would want A/C and nav to be honest,the extra weight is easily offset by a more usable drive.
That said,it must be an epic car as every review I have watched heaps praise on it.
