IF YOU OR SOMEONE YOU LOVE ARE STRUGGLING WITH ANXIETY, YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS.
I battled anxiety for 30 years. I still feel waves of anxiety in certain situations, but I no longer experience ‘generalized’ anxiety.
I’ve been off anxiety meds for 10 years.
In this video, I’m going to SHOW you how I’ve used “cold exposure” to strengthen my nervous system. It’s a game changer for anxiety.
I show you live what I do, I answer your questions, and you will watch me go from a physical and mental state of freaking out to calming myself down in a matter of about 25 seconds.
Keep in mind, I’m not a medical doctor or a therapist. This is NOT medical advice. This is one woman who used to struggle with anxiety learning how to take control of her own life, body, and mind and sharing with you what worked for her.
Everything that I’m sharing is backed by tremendous research and has worked for me, but you should ALWAYS consult a doctor or therapist before you try a new habit to address mental health or other health issues.
If you have any questions I didn't address, leave them in the comments below. And if you like this, go to / melrobbins . We put out new videos everyday.
And believe me, I’m just getting started.

From me to you. Someone here who has been sexually abused from age of 4 I want you to know you have control. You have a choice to brighten the new steps ahead of you no matter what age you are. It’s always the right time to start. Today. Now. This moment. I believe in you and I love you. You got this.

Yes I want to accomplish more daily. Just working a job is not all that fulfilling. So yes holy GOd and science have been Gods plan all along.

I’m truly wondering if you had this cold plunge experience to control anxiety if it would help in an emergency of falling through the ice say like ice fishing. I would think if you could control the panic enough to give you a minute or two of rational thought to get out. Of course every situation will be different but controlling panic can help in many situations.

Hi Mel. I started by going out in winter with coat unzipped, then with only thin gloves, then with thin hat, then without jaquet (with gloves and mits), then with only a vest, then with thick sweater, then finally I was shovelling snow with only tshirt, then without socks and running shoes. I also started taking cooler shower at the pool. This week I finally went to spa and was able to walk under cold water 5 times. I also went in cold bath for 2 minutes then in whirlpool 5 times. Its really progression to allow your body to learn to adapt. I am now ok with cold as i realise I am fine even if my body tries to tell me otherwise. I totally agree with cold water therapy for anxiety and depression. I am also feeling my lower body tingling now when perceived danger lerks. I did not realize that I was disconnected from lower body due to severe violent repeated rapes for 4 years and I tended to escape from my body. Keep up with shining your light so you can inspire us.
I have many techniques I have been using for nearly three years. I called it then 10 second rule as I had set out on my facebook account. I also used similar techniques as you describe in your videos. I have been doing these techniques for years now.
