On paper, Yamaha's 2024 update to its popular MT-09 doesn't look like much to write home about. However, as Phil West discovered when he rode one at the global press introduction, the small changes add up to a much improved machine with a more aggressive character - even if he thinks the facelift resembles a well-known Marvel superhero. Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC ride & review
if you are soft and have more bucks, go for the aprilla
Great video, great questions, and great insight from you Chris to speak and test the tyre so thoroughly. Nice one.
Are you the kid in MCN now ? :)
Great looking bike from a historic maker. My only reservation would be that it's made in China... I'd go for the 700cc with the Yamaha motor.
Where did you get that belly pan, mostly?
I want to know where you got all those accessories to make it look so badass!!!
Svartpilen?
All of them except for Honda Hornet are made in india.
looks good... as long as the price is competive it will sell
Why didn't we get to hear it at the end? Why do a whole video on the twins and ends with a four?
Ian is nuts
If you are going to review something, then a first step is to learn how to pronounce the product you are reviewing. It's not hard.
Great vídeo. Thanks
What producer thought the back of the commentator head is a good shot? WTF??😂 Anyways, The TT is back. Yippee! All the best to the riders.👍
Z900 brakes and even less so suspension are not fit for the track. Source: I have one.
I agree. I too own a 2022 FTR R Carbon, 2 years later still fascinated with it and just Love everything about it….my only 2 complaints are small gas ⛽️ tank and range and the seat could be more comfortable, besides just Love my FTR and the looks I get on the road!
at last, a review that has 3rd person footage of the bike, jesus thank you
...GOD BLESS DA' ISLE OF MAN!
Thanks for taking the time to film and explain. One note to add on the subject of the length of the course; it can vary from school to school. Some schools in my local area have course length of up to two days. Whilst this may bump up the price, it is potentially a good trade off for being safer and more confident on the roads as well as it takes pressure from having to learn everything in one day and pass. Something extra to consider. Ride safe!
Great video guys!
Hutchy....all the best, from Thailand.
DEANO!!
Excessive operations stress the heart
Well done Hutchy good to see you back have a good T T
You good mate? You look exhausted
I love the look of the bike but I do think it has a few quality issues. Those plastic fluid reservoirs are cheap and nasty. They should be part of the levers. The exhaust sits low which is begging for a clout with the first speed ramp you encounter. The reports of vibration above 50mph do put me off. don't misunderstand me its a beautiful looking bike but they need a bit more attention to the detail and rideability. Sticking it in your living room to look at is great but I want to ride it. I am a QA manager and it makes me critical but I wouldn't buy it until they take a second look at what they have made.
good luck to all the riders this year ,if we can have one less fatality than last year it,ll be a great year at the tt
Really great to see Hutchy back, he’s got 16 wins, 4th in the all time list of most wins. A TT icon up there with the best.
Pace yourself Ian "Frustating ".But you can get another TT win.Well done at NWest this year Brilliant.God Bless.
Just got one of these they are amazing
Come on the bingly bullet,,😅
Great riders, all three of them, great characters too. Not long now boys ✊🏻
that was niiiiice! Cheers from Greece
Did you interview Conor in a public swimming pool or what?
Carole Nash are an appalling company. Call centre in South Africa and can hardly speak a word of English. Don't touch 'em.
How tall are u?
❤❤❤❤
The bike is about balance and day to day use. All the bikes you compair it too are focused one one thing. Its better then a naked but not as full on as a super sport thats the point and you missed that completly.
1. Does Burgman start after it stands in rain for a night, as mine will be in open garage. 2. My office is in water logged area where bike and scooter exhausts sink in flood, how to start Burgman after that?
Bought the similar Rally second hand 6 months old and drove it to Italy, 1800km, in 3 days after a few touring mods - compact MRA vario touring screen, rack/crashbars, handguards, Metzeler Karoo street replacing knobblies. Almost as good as my former BMW 800cc twin, which did it 10 times, but 40kg lighter at around 162kg with fuel. Knowing that if you stop a bit off balance, eg on an uphill bend behind a car, you can hold the bike upright is a big plus. And it leans into bends, without effort. Cruises all day at 120 kph/ just under 5000 rpm without significant vibes, plenty in hand for overtaking and stable around lorries, even in the wet. The screen makes the wind pressure tolerable for 6 hour days, without helmet buffeting. Although the flat seat does not look much, it allows you to change position - add the progressive suspension with good damping, and long days are pain free. Takes bad roads in its stride at 80kph +, even potholes that would upset heavier tourers, let alone firmly suspended sports bikes. Downsides? A bit lumpy below 2500rpm, not for touring couples and the high exhaust gets in the way a bit. For ageing downsizers, taller than 5ft 7 it's a good allrounder, not just a week end toy. I wonder how the RE 450 and Triumph match up?
carole nash how come you know about motorcycles yet the call centre which is on the other side of the word know the sum total of zero when sorting out insurance
0:39 that truck was barrelling up behind you 😮
I own this bike, unfortunately the seat is as thin as the credit card in my wallet, this is a massive oversight by Yamaha. Literally a pain in the ass!
Sojnds more like propaganda than an objective review..
Dunlop's have been my favourite tyres for my Gixer 600 & 750 and my R6, so when I wear out these Pirelli's on my Ducati Multistrada, I'll be fitting these
Baddery and scooder? 🤔
Not bad content and structure of your review, but the odd uncomfortable looking desk straddle coupled with the "baddery" and "scooder" weirdness killed it for me.
Ive owned a Yamaha R1 and a GSXR 750 and now I own the V2. I'd take the V2 any day. The R1 was faster but it was straight line speed and not very comfortable. The V2 is PLENTY fast and handles like a dream, it can shred the twisty roads like nothing Ive been on. I am a way better rider on this bike and enjoy the seating position so much more.
