Note to the videographers: I would stop the aperture down so you have a wider range of focus. Nice video!
You mean you don't want to see his fingers perfectly in focus and nothing else?
Note to non videographers, this was autofocus :) It's exactly why you shouldn't use autofocus for most applications..
I stopped watching the video, cannot watch this anymore :D

Please lock your focus and then demo the product at the right distance from the lens. The autofocus issues were...bad, man.
I could be way off but I feel like when companies do this it’s about the money. It’s probably cheaper for them to make finewoven over leather and they’ll spin it as “eco-friendly” while charging you the same as leather.
I share your cynicism. 100% agreed lol.
I imagine at apple’s scale and their leverage, the price difference is so minuscule that it would be in pennies.
thats a reason and then also companies are soon having to report their environmental impact just like their financial statement. My company is already creating a new division for this new environmental reporting.
its both, why be so pessimistic?
@@goldeternalexcept ironically using leather is as close to eco friendly as you can get.
I don't think these will age well.
I had these type of cloth cases with android phones and usually they do if you manage to keep them clean, but other than the feel, it doesn't worth it, they are way more delicate than silicone for example and become darker overtime (darker in a bad, dirty way)
I see what you did there lol
Like any case😂
Nomad leather is still my go to. My 15 Pro Max one just got delivered today to replace my 12 Pro Max one that lasted 3 years and still looks new.
I’ve also used fabric cases in the past, but they would fray at the bottom edges. Seems like that is resolved here.
I’m using this case right now and I’m loving it. Super comfortable to hold, much lighter than leather, and plenty robust for drop protection. Recommend you try it for yourself and return it if you really hate it, instead of immediately rejecting it because of bad reviews!
Yeah, we have four of them in my house. They’re terrific.
“Depressed Apple logo” just like me fr
cringe
I would be depressed too if I was that case side by side with the leather case.
Nice intro but man consider change your aperture or lens next time…
Focus is way too shallow and slow everything barely stays in focus for even a second.
I don’t like that the woven material doesn’t wrap all the way around and has an awkward transition to cheap plastic for the outer edge. Could be an indicator that the woven material isn’t durable enough to withstand the heavy wear at the corners. I usually go for the Apple leather case but this time I might switch to silicone. I like the case to feel in the hand like its all one single piece rather than 2 different materials seamed together.
Been waiting for this, thanks 🙏
Thank you so much for this video! I couldn’t watch the whole thing because my eyes started to hurt because of the continuous in and out of focus, so I just went to the part I really wanted to see. Great to be able to see the cases beforehand. I think I may order a second one based on this. Thanks again
Well for once Apple is helping third party companies with leather options
Nomad for sure with Horween leather
It’s been gradually beginning for years once they started going to the kind of weird painted cases. Forced patina isn’t great usually but wiping the paint off the Apple leather cases with alcohol wipes really was the only hope of getting a solid wear on the Apple leather cases in recent years.
The problem is none of them are like Apples cases :)
@@vladimirtalijanyes they are better
You got my view and my like. Cause nobody literally nobody did a video about this new cases. Thanks a lot.
Lets all just buy leather Cases from other manufacturers
Was waiting for this
The natural titanium Pro, and the Taupe case looks so good together. That’s what I got.
This will be my choice too
I’m going blue titanium and either pacific blue woven or storm blue silicone
I got the taupe and pacific blue for my natural titanium. I actually think the pacific blue looks nicer.
Leather, of course, looks and feels a lot more premium. These are much cheaper for Apple to produce, yet they're charging the same amount of money. Really hate that the material doesn't at least wrap all the way around, with plastic on the sides instead. I do think the color options are nice at least. I'm digging mulberry the most.
👍🏻 same thoughts, and i’m not going to pay 60$ for some fabric..
My exact thoughts as well.
You cry if someone eats your dog but are ok with wearing skin of a cow. Hypocrite whine whine whine always complaining, need a little reality check.
Cheap recycled garbage
Disgraceful cases
I will buy a leather case which is made in my country with leather from my country. Also 20€ less expensive than the "fine woven" cases.
I'm sad they got rid of the leather but am really looking forward to trying these new ones out. I've been using an 11 Pro Max since launch with the same Apple leather case and it has held up incredibly well. Almost 4 years of daily use and it's still a great case. Hopefully these new cases hold up as well as the leather did.
Your leather case will still fit
The leather was premium and nice
@@thomaspayne6610I doubt it, the 14 pro camera cutout is bigger than the 13 pro, which were bigger than the 11 pro. Then you also have a button instead of the switch, even if they were in the same place the button would be recessed. Nvm that the 11 was thinner and more curved.
I have an 11 Pro Max with the Apple leather case. Still looks good, these look like garbage. I doubt they will last a years, hopefully someone will produce a nice third party case.
@@andrewgrant788 Yeah I always got the leather case and used it for 2 years. It's an excellent case, these don't look like they'll hold up to abuse, water or lint.
I got the Taupe for my Titanium iPhone 15 Pro Max and I am loving it!
I was going to get the matchy matchy Clay Silicone case for my Natural Titanium Pro Max, but that Mulberry is HOT. I changed my order! Thanks for the video!
Interested in trying this case out to give it a chance. Just worried though how it handles scratches given it’s different texture at the back compared to the leather one. Hoping it’s scratch resistant in some way.
It most certainly is not. This wears terribly and I returned it the next day
@@Verdant02 After seeing some reviews on it, I have returned it as well. Better to invest in better cases in the same price range..
I returned mine as well
We have four of them in my house. There’s nothing wrong with the fine woven cases they hold up nicely.
How easily do these new cases slide into and out of a pocket? I drop my phone much less without a silicone case as the silicone one just doesn’t slide out of a pocket very easily, it’s too grippy.
FineWoven is the most Apple based nomenclature you can find lol
P.S. They have a lot of work to do with the material.
Would love to see the car interior of the staff at Apple that decided to cancel the leather cases with these cheap, recycled fabric cases. Willing to bet those same staff have a ton of leather products in their personal wardrobe and/or purses, etc.
I usually go for the black leather cases but I feel like changing it up this time. That evergreen case looks nice.
I have the evergreen. Love the color. But it’s a terrible case. It just feels so wrong. Your fingers will just hate the fabric. Just get a nomad case.
Got mine today and love the feel of it. Only time will tell if they wear well. I loved the patina of the leather cases over time.
is it good on pockets?
@@einszs it’s much better than I thought it would be. Just glides in like the leather cases. Fingers crossed it keeps it look because it looks good.
I barely opened the box and immediately regretted my purchase. I wish I saw it in store before ordering online. The color on the website was misleading not surprised and the quality feels very very cheap definitely not 60$ worth also I cant stand the sound when my finger rubs on the back. And the blue would pick up so much lint.
@@FilipeFernandes107 I’m currently in holiday and so far this case has handled sun cream, water and oils from foods. It just wipes off. Better than I expected so far.
Lint magnet? I feel like they're just going to be stuck with particles
Taupe with natural titanium 😊 if I use moisturiser I’m screwed though
Yeah. This upsets me too. Having multiple leather cases and leather Hermes Apple Watch straps I’m sad to hear the day of devices Apple are over.
What are the weights of the fine woven cases and wallet? I’m looking to lighten my phone as much as possible
Thanks I’ve been looking everywhere on yt for a review on these
Zollotech has reviewed them as well on his channel.
At 5:16 you can see scuffs or scratches on the blue FineWoven case. I wonder, do these buff out etc. similar to the leather when it got a mark or will the fabric quickly show marks and staining... it will be interesting to see how these perform long term. I went with the brown Finewoven for my 15 Pro.
Probably no and that's why he was really carefully not to do anykind of scract or scuff test on these...
Does the edge of the case go slightly above the glass screen? So that the screen wouldn’t touch surface if placed screen down?
Can we use popsockets with this case? Or will it have trouble sticking to the fine woven fabric?
Could you make a video or tell us about with which iPhones the Fine woven cases fit? Just the 15? Or any older models by chance?
I like the evergreen!
I usually don’t use a case though; I MagSafe them into my shirt pocket!
Is it possible to use the Fine Woven case for the base model iPhone 15 on my base model iPhone 14?
what's the weight compared to the leather case? is it also lighter due to the material?
I like the leather ones perfect texture for handling and getting in and out of bags/pockets and whatever
Will this be a protective case or just more for looks?
I appreciate you are showing these cases but you should really fix your camera focus. I was going dizzy watching because of lost focus. Cheers for showing these to us so early regrdless.
Nice review
I feel like these are gonna look dirty and matted down within a few weeks of use. Time will tell! But from first glance, the leather seemed like a much better product.
I’m going 3rd party leather. 😂
I don’t blame you
I bought the Pacific Blue. I hope I like it. I was also a fan of the leather cases.
I have two fine woven cases for my 15 promax, and my wife has two for her 15 promax they hold up very nicely, and I actually really like them
Now we need a case for the case 🤪
what do you think edges will be gone same as other cases...?
The leather cases with the leather MagSafe wallet created sort of a bond once attached to each other. It was a very nice combination imo
My Problem is that I dont know which colour I should buy for titan blue iphone… it seems no case has the correct colour :-(
Maybe I will choose another colour for my iphone…
will it patina like leather cases? if so then the light colors should be avoided..
My 12 has lasted since the phone was released with a leather case and I absolutely love it
How does it feel from the leather one??
Are these as thin as last year's Apple leather cases?
Mine turned up in the post today, went with black and looks great and a premium quality. Also feels great in the hand, time will tell however if it lasts as well as my previous leather options but I’m really pleased with it, only need my 15 Pro to fill it now 👍
Hi, does it grip to your pocket?
@@lawrencelu3802 no I don’t think so but it may depend what your wearing
My leather cases didn't held up that great the last 2 years, they had large black discolorations and other damages.
@@EVPaddy that’s not good leather does age and has a worn look over time but should last a while. Did they get wet as that will damage leather easily over time ?
@@noelbodle8863 A little sometimes, maybe, but nothing special. Basically the edges are all black (doesn't show that much this year as the case is dark blue). Also the edge is very 'scratched'.
Evergreen and taupe are my favorites for the natural titan
I like them!
I'm just curious to know how is your apple watch band so clean?
Hi. Nice review. Just wanna ask, what’s your wrist measurement? And what’s the size of your apline loop? Thanks
I’m thinking of going for this instead of the silicone case, my apple silicone case started peeling/chipping along the edges
Although I've been a fan of leather cases for a long time, I now prefer a much-thinner aramid/carbon fiber case, for the same cost or less than crApple's FineWoven case. Some of them are less than a millimeter thick yet super strong, have cutouts to access the phone's own buttons, have a grippier texture, and resist fingerprints/oil... they essentially just add grip and scratch resistance to the case while not adding much, if any, impact protection... which is fine by me.
Same I use the pitaka and wish they’d make a brown color version though
Good video the only one I e found but I will say in future try fix the focusing small thing but makes a big difference 👍
After using it for 2 days I’ve found the hole cut outs for the charger are quite sharp (like a cheap case) and rub on my little fingers. It’s not painful but it is uncomfortable for long periods of time.
I now take my phone out of the case to hold it if I’m using it for longer than 10 mins.
I love my case getting a patina. Wonder if this is like a micarta or something? That would still get some
Would it fit on the iPhone 14 pro max?
I got mine for half the price and I like it, doesn't feel cheap or easy to break
The blue one looks great, unfortunately, it won't be available for iPhone 13 Pro. I'm not upgrading this year.
The colors are gorgeous but this is gonna be a pass for me. The fact that they pick up lint is very disappointing. And to top it off fabric will naturally stain much easier, which could make for really cool patina over time, or completely ruin the case.
Mine came yesterday and went straight back. Super sensitive surface and completely overpriced.
Happy with dark cherry leather case, for iPhone 13 Pro Max thanks!😃
nice video as always but do u know if i can buy the new case for my iphone 14 pro ? or are the 15 abit bigger than the 14 ?
No FineWoven cases are available for any phone other than the 15's, at least not yet. Zollotech tried putting a FineWoven 15 Pro case on a 14 Pro, and they do not fit. There's also a button on the case where the action button would be, no cut out, so you wouldn't be able to access the mute switch, even if they did fit. But the 15 and 15 Plus cases seem to fit the 14 and 14 Plus.
I just received the fine woven burgundy case and I was pleasantly surprised. I love the color and the feel of the case. We will see how well it holds up.
I bought the original leather case with my iPhone 11 pro and it still lasts, making it one of the more lasting leather products I have. The only thing that will change is that my next case will be third party. Leather is made from the part of cows that’s usually not eaten anyway, so better use it for leather products than throw it away
These colours look so much better irl
Ugh. I’ve had a pacific blue leather case on my iPhone 12 Pro since day one and I was hoping to get another with my pre-ordered 15 Pro Max. I guess I’ll have to see in store for myself if it’s worth it or consider other brand products.
Thanks for the great video - very useful.
I have a fine woven wallet in Mulberry. I may get a case in the same colour? I'm not usually drawn to the colour Taupe, but it's a great versatile colour it seems. I love leather, so I'm sad it's no longer an option, however I think that my fine woven wallet looks and feels like a premium product.
How it attracts lint is disappointing (I use tape to remove it) and I'm concerned how it will wear and how oil from my hands (sunscreen and moisturisers etc.) will show up on the wallet over time.
Should we be putting a fabric protector spray on the fine woven material, do you think?
mous cases are my go to for ultra protection and I have a mous Limitless 5.0 in Forest Green for my white iPhone 15 Pro Max, mous products always give me that feeling that the phone will be protected, I guess no matter what and I love the option to add either a wrist strap or body strap to the case.
The edges of the fine woven case are a different fine woven material to the back, I believe.
Does anyone have an idea if they will be available for the 14 Pro Max?
Google has been doing these cases for years now and I don't like those at all. I think these will also be a flop for me but obviously a lot of people will buy these just because it's the "new" thing.
Good video
I'll be going with the Grams28 leather case for my 15 Pro or a Pitaka MagSafe case. These won't cut it for me.
Next year they’ll probably have wraparound FineWoven cases. As for me, I like the ‘grown up’ subdued colors, but remain skeptical on their durability.
But will it wipe clean after touching it with dirty/sauced hands?
So what is FineWoven? What is it made from?
Will magsafe burn through this “finewoven”?
The majority of this video was out of focus. Could barely see the cases
Will the 15 plus fit on the 14 plus?
Can we install it on iPhone 13?
I loved the apple leather cases, bought one every new phone.
Just ordered the finewoven one today as i preordered my new iphone 15 pro max.
On my 12 pro i had the blue leather case and i really gotta say i had the worst experience with it.. within literally a week it already started to get an ugly asf looking patina (basically as if it was dirty), the little plastic thing around the mute switch just broke on its own and the leather just felt kinda sticky. I guess its just me, but im happy they ditched the leather
Leather is the most natural material there is. Apple choosing to go with plastic stuff made out of fossil fuels (all plastic is made of oil!) seems ridiculous considering they spent so much time on their “environmental” processes. I loved the leather cases.
Yes, raising a living breathing animal to produce the leather famously requires zero fossil fuels...
This statement is completely nonsensical. The environment is the precise reason for them phasing out leather products. Leather is famous for having a terrible carbon footprint. Animals need lots of food and produce lots of methane, thus contributing heavily to land usage, water consumption and climate change.
@@tobiassteinhausler1617 You are confused. Animals are not raised for leather. Skins are just a bi product, and we have a huge surplus of skins. It gets thrown away or boiled into glue if not made into leather. Meanwhile, the energy needs to create and recycle plastics from oil is incredible, and additive to carbon. Animals are not. They only use of covert carbon which already exists in the atmosphere. Plus, plastics don’t break down and are terrible for the biosphere. Leather is natural.
@@daviscollins No one raises animals for leather. It’s a bi product of meat production. Animals have skin, in case you didn’t know. It’s a 100% natural product that we get for “free” in abundance and will get as long as people eat meat. Meanwhile, ALL plastic is made from oil. Even the plastic packaging for vegan food.
@@pressrepeat2000 1. You are correct that leather is a byproduct of meat production, however this does not mean it has no impact. The leather industry still subsidizes the meat and dairy industry by creating demand for the skin, thus incentivizing livestock.
2. Manufacturing plastics is highly efficient. Your statement that producing and recycling plastics is very energy intensive is just not correct when looking at the alternatives. Of course, plastics have issues like often ending up in the ocean etc. (and let's be honest, the solution to the ocean problem isn't exactly rocket science). But looking purely from a carbon standpoint, plastics are usually the lowest emission choice in nearly every case.
3. You can absolutely make plastics without oil. A prime example is cellophane, which is indeed widely used in food packaging.
4. When it comes to recycling, plastics are vastly superior to leather. Except for very few niche cases, leather just can't be recycled at all. Whereas "some" plastics (it's Apple's job here to make a good choice) are highly recyclable.
5. Let's also not ignore the environmental impact of leather tanning, which uses and creates many toxic chemicals.
6. Oil-based plastics take a very long time to decompose, that is true. However, this is not an issue when the plastics are properly recycled. Also, bioplastics do degrade normally within reasonable timeframes.
how bad does it stain?
Lock focus!
do these fit 14 pros?
What charger is that in background
Would you guys say these are as tough as the old leather cases? Mine took a beating and never cracked my phone.
They are beautiful but they will have a life span of a mayfly. Nothing suede-like ages well, especially around the edges where it rubs off like crazy.
I got my apple woven case today and i have to say it’s going straight back. It feels cheap, easily marks, and not up to usual Apple standards. I find it hard to understand why they got rid of leather when they use plastic elements more. As a company they should focus on this and keep the premium leather case. Like a lot of people i will be off to look for third party cases now.
Because Mother Nature said so
It's not as if we're raising cattle for leather. Leather is a byproduct of the American obsession with beef. I'll readily criticize excess meat consumption, but eliminating leather is bizarre. Silicone is still the best alternative.
Leather looks and I guess feels much nicer.
I dig it
You mentioned one of the cases got scratched. It would've been nice if you showed a detail shot of that case. I haven't been able to go into the Apple store to check these out yet but it kind of looks like suede. If they scratch up just as easy as suede, I'm sure there's going to be a bunch of people that won't like that look.
