I’m using A canon camera and Adobe Bridge software along with photo mechanics. Is there anyway to get cannons in camera ratings to show up in either photo mechanic or Adobe bridge?
FascinatingH How about a photo that has been scanned Trent? I am scanning a huge number of photos from years ago when my wife and me used Kodak chrome transparencies. We often argue who took the photo and I usually lose the argument/discussion : ) If the photo is scanned does it retain the meta data? Many thanks!
Film (obviously) has no metadata; it's not a file. Scanned film image files will contain whatever default (assuming nothing's been changed) metadata the scanning software writes to the file at the time of export. E.g. it'll have the creation date (which will be the scan date), scanning software, scanner model etc.. If you look on flickr (for instance) at film images, you'll often see that that the "camera" used shown in the EXIF data shows a scanner model (or in some cases a digital camera if one was used to DSLR "scan" the image). If the owner did not edit/alter the metadata before updating that's what is in the file and that's what Flickr (and other sites) will extract and display. I would imagine it would be important to store an image with the metadata on a third party cloud given that anyone can edit metadata on the fly. Having a file on you computer that says it was edited two years ago is not necessarily realiable information.
