Each tutorial I used to watch on YT is like "Curve tool has 2 axis, X and Y, now make a S curve. Have a nice day". Here is finally a perfect explanation with use cases. Thank you Andrea !
Glad you enjoyed the video, Max! I greatly appreciated your comment. Thank you! :)
Yes, I want to see more lessons about curves.
Thanks for the feedback, really appreciated it :) Ciao
Wow!! Finally someone, who's making an amazing job with photos in capture one and is able to explain understandably every step he's doing! Liked & Subscribed!! Thank you!! :)
That's awesome, Jozef! Thanks so much for the lovely comment and glad you enjoyed the video, I really appreciated it :) Ciao
For all those guys that would like to know a little bit more about the zone system written by Hensel Adams to help you understand a little bit more about Tone range going from black to white check that book out, nice video about the use of Capture one 22!
Thanks so much Andre! I really appreciate it :) Ciao
It's hard to find someone who explains these things as you here on TH-cam, thank you :D
Wow! Thanks a lot, very much appreciated :) Ciao
Amazing. Best, ever, tutorial on curve tool I've ever seen - must use that tool more often now! Thanks so much.
Thank you very much, Stig. I'm really happy you enjoyed it 😀 Ciao
I have been using curves to edit my photos for years and I thought I knew everything I needed about them. WHAT A FOOL I AM! I am so going to take a look at some pictures I took and discarded because of contrast and haziness. Grazie, buon lavoro!
Thanks so much, Augusto! Glad you found the video useful. Buon Anno, alla prossima 😀
@@AndreaLivieriPhoto auguri!
Hi Andrea, I’ve been using Capture 1 for many years and watched endless tutorials. This is by far the best tutorial I’ve seen on the use of curves in very flat light low key landscapes and I now plan to go and re-edit some old images using your technique. I’m sure it will make a difference. Glenn
That's awesome! Thank you very much, Glenn. Glad you found the video useful :)
I have went thru all your capture one videos. In my opinion your education fills the simple but essential gap that capture one tutors fail. Thank-you for this. Keep them coming.. All the best!!
Thanks so much for the comment and I’m really glad you enjoyed the video 😃
Best Curves explanation ever, thank you.
Hi Simon, thanks a bunch for the lovely comment! Happy to hear you found the video useful :) Ciao
This was already a bigger tip of the iceberg than I've ever seen in a TH-cam video :-), and very well explained!
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed the video, Thomas. Thank you :) Ciao
Your workflow is spot on Andrea! I learned more about curves in this video than ever before. Ever! I never thought of adding points close to each other rather than spread far apart, but mostly WHEN, and WHY to add them. THANK YOU!
Awesome! Thanks so much, Rich. Glad you found the video useful :) Ciao
You got me good with that joke in the middle! What a brilliant video. Straight-forward, technical, deep… I am so grateful for this. Been feeling like I’ve been on the precipice of understanding some of this but frustrated with how shallow other tutorials are… how shallow they’ve been my whole life! Feel like it’s all geared towards people who have never picked up a camera before. Finally a lesson on my level!
Awesome! Thanks so much for the comment, and I'm really glad you enjoyed the video :) Ciao
@@AndreaLivieriPhoto Sure thing! Thanks for the lesson! It would be really cool if you did more videos on “How to Use _ Effectively” like the Levels tool or other things, and just did a 15 min breakdown on other tools that are part of your workflow! You’re so good at explaining
@@usernamehandle Thanks for the suggestion, appreciated :) Ciao
I learned a new way to approach my image by your amazing video, Thank you Andrea!
Wonderful! Glad you found the video useful, Carter. Thanks so much :)

Brilliant tutorial, thankyou so much. Often you are told to use the s-curve, with no detailed explanation, you’ve explained this so well, and it all makes sense. Thanks again 😊
Awesome, thanks a lot, Claire! Glad you found it useful :) Ciao
I rarely compliment videos, but you did such an amazingly good job explaining I found that I had to send out a thanks!!!
Awesome, thank you very much, John! I really appreciate it :) Ciao
This is one of the most detailed and informative videos I've ever watched for curves features for C1. I really appreciate the nuances of utilizing of all the information you included.
Hi Alexandre, glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching and commenting! :) Ciao
Great tutorial. Thanks! I really liked the "Curve Your Enthusiasm" joke. Pun intended. :-)
Hi Tim, thanks so much for the comment and glad you enjoyed the video! I’m also glad you mentioned the joke :) Ciao 😃
Best explanation on this topic. Thank you for all the work!
Thanks so much, glad you found it useful! :)
Excellent, thank you! It's great to see Curves used so clearly in Capture one! (usually its just Ps) Your "blue" waterfall shows up how Luma curves remove colour, rather than just stop colours being boosted, to my eyes anyway...
Thanks so much, Dominic! Glad you enjoyed the video. Actually, the Luma Curve doesn't remove colors. Since it only affects the brightness values of the image, you won't experience an increase in saturation like you would typically see when increasing contrast with the regular RGB curve.
Amazing! Thank you so much for this kind of videos ! Your explanations are crystal clear and so much valuable. Thank you for your time and effort !
Glad it was helpful, Michel! Thanks so much for watching and commenting 🙂
Brilliant video. I've struggled with curves, S.curve at best. Feel much more confident to explore and understand what they can do. Thank you!
Thank you very much for the comment, and I'm really glad you found the video useful :) Ciao

Hello Andrea, should have listen to your video 2 years ago. I use curves a lot but got more hints from your video. Thank you so much
Thanks for the comment, Odile! Glad you found the video useful. The Curves tool is incredibly powerful and versatile and can be used for a wide range of adjustments.🙂

Really amazing! is the best tutorial have seen about curves. Thank you so much!
Thanks so much for the comment, and glad you found the video useful! 🙂
Didn't know about the point picker! Yes, please more on curves:-) Dunna did it had a recent video on the topic as well. Was happy to visit Venice in 2019, only had my Tamron 28-75 mm then, but the pandemic scared me to buy more lenses, as I thought the prices would skyrocket, but now they're down again. Did you visit Tolfa? It has become so popular for Norwegians to settle there, after a group of Norwegians bought the monastery and made it into a cultural center for art and music. I like to move there as well, but not my wife.
Thanks so much for the comment, glad you found it useful. I've never visited Tolfa, but the one you mentioned is an interesting story I didn't know :) Ciao
Another fantastic video. Capture One may not be as popular as lightroom, but I love it a lot more and appreciate your excellent in depth tutorials.
Hi Jordan, thanks so much for the lovely comment, and glad you enjoyed the tutorial. Yep, Capture One is absolutely brilliant :) Ciao

Thank you for the video :)
You're very welcome! Glad you enjoyed the video :)
This is a very simple, realistic, yet excellent curves tutorial.
Im new too C1 and always feel tempted to use Luma Range as it allows you to do very localized adjustments and it is much faster than creating luminosity masks, but that's probably because I have a very basic concept of the curves tool.
I would love to see more about it, specially working with the different RGB channels.
Kind regards.
Thanks so much, Filipe. Glad you found it useful. There is nothing wrong with the Luma Range, it's an amazing and powerful tool. I use it almost on any image I edit. Sometimes just the Curve Tool is more than enough to apply effective adjustments to the image. That's it :) Ciao
@@AndreaLivieriPhoto yes indeed, I mean I've been probably using Luma range in some of my images when it wasn't necessary. Your tutorial was an eyes opening.
I discovered C1 too late. It has everything in one screen, tethering, editing, organising and it is totally customizable. And much faster, with high quality results.
I'll pay more attention to your content. Ciao.
Awesome! Ciao Filipe :)
Good tutorial! 👍🙏
