i always wondered this but which one is considered better? Cedar Point or Magic Mountain? I been to CP twice but never been to MM. however i want to go to MM so badly!
The fact that Gemini still has 45 seconds without those turnarounds is pretty amazing. And it Still manages to be fun during those, with trash talking the other sides and high fiving them.
Unfortunately, Gemini hardly ever runs both tracks anymore, making most of the fun of the coaster voided. I'm lucky that Cedar Point is my home park, and man do I miss the good Gemini days

@@zachcoastercrazy4032 it's demand. 95% of the time Gemini is a walk on, and they don't bother running both sides until its like a 20 minute wait. Now my impression might be skewed, I'm local so I only go on Tuesday or Wednesday so the park is relatively empty but even when I go at peak it's usually a walk on. And that makes sense, you could ride Gemini 3 times or Millennium.

I immediately had a stupid idea watching this. Top thrill dragster, but it provides a 1-way trip to the back half of the park, and goes back and forth as a quick travel option through the park. Call it, "Top Thrill Transport."
The slow turnarounds on Gemini are for talking crap to your buddies and trying to reach for high fives! Also it's kinda crazy Magnum is 6th in height, a lot of parks don't even have one coaster over 200 feet.
I love how the park where Intamin built their first coaster is the same pari where they would later build Millenium Force and Top Thrill Dragster, and that you can see the latter two in the distance when riding the former. Its just a perfect way for Intamin to say "started from the bottom, now we here"

I’ve had it happen to me before. Back in 2016. I was the first train of the day, and I had it all to myself. Yes, I did get a zen ride on Maverick. There was nobody else around when I got there, so I was able to get it. I think the reason it stalled is because they were probably getting the train after me ready to go, so I was waiting in there for a decent amount of time before launching.
I think with Maverick, you have to take into account that 90% of the time, that second launch is a rolling launch where the train doesn’t slow down that much. The only time is really slows down before the second launch is if it’s raining, or if they’re having slow dispatches.
I’d love to see a prime ride time video for the 4 small Cedar Fair parks, so all the coasters of Worlds of Fun, Valleyfair, Dorney Park, and Michigan’s Adventure
This was a fantastic video. Now I’m curious about how the coasters would stand up to their similar types in different parks (for example, how American Gigas might stand against each other, or different RMC I-Boxes, etc).
If you look at my playlist for prime ride time, youll see that I usually do compare apples to apples (gigas, megas, rmcs, etc) ive been mixing in parks also. My next one will be for b&m inverts worldwide
I’m surprised that Raptor falls behind Gatekeeper in pacing. Maybe it’s the intensity of the ride that makes it feel magnitudes faster that Gatesleeper.
It really blew my mind to see Maverick at 7th (at the time this was made- RIP Wicked Twister) in speed at 70 mph! Never really thought about it like that. Superlatives all around. Just an embarrassment of riches for the roller coaster Mecca. I can't wait to go back.
Only thing I would say is that with maverick, you shouldn’t have used the official pov. In that video the train crawls through the brakes before the launch, but it does not do that when operating, at least usually. It’s very rare to go that slow through there

17 coasters? 18 if you count Pipe Scream. BTW I didn't get a credit for Wilderness Run because didn't have a kid to ride with, but I rode every coaster at C.P. except W.R. BTW you're incorrect re the drop of Corkscrew; it's 65', not 85'! I'm also amazed at the laterals of the turnaround on Blue Streak, which I rode on its 54th birthday. I have to ask: IF you didn't include the turnarounds on Gemini to determine ride time, did you also not include them to determine track length? Thanks for at least beginning to explain how you calculated how much track length is used during prime ride time; this is only the 2nd time I've noticed that you've reported prime ride time track length. I asked how you calculated that the 1st time and now you're already beginning to explain how. I cannot thank you enough for that, as well as sharing the prime ride time track length with us. The icing on the cake for me is that my favourite three coasters at Cedar Point are 3: Gatekeeper; 2: Millennium Force and 1: Steel Vengeance. Thanks for this awesome video!
Since I haven't seen this yet, I'll probably delete this comment: The most important ignored stat is when drop whenever only the height is mentioned and it's more than the drop (The best example of this is Max XL-200 which has a drop of slightly over 194')
