  • Today we would feature a lovely garden located in the East, having been growing orchids for years, the homeowner has now turned to another lovely epiphyte, BROMELIADS 😍. Let's take a look at how small spaces can be turned into a haven of happiness in this weeks second episode of "My Garden, My Home"

I would have liked to see the fountain or waterfall making the lovely noise.

Hello Sherryann we use a granular slow release fertilizer, like multicote or osmocote

I am so in love with these bromeliads😍. I started my collection many, many years ago but lost a lot of them mainly due to neglect and divided attention. I have started growing them all over again and hope to take the very best of care this time around. Finding your channel is so divine because I am now more enthused than ever to grow these plants. I admire your knowledge surrounding the bromeliads and have learnt a lot since i found your channel. Thank you so much for showcasing these beautiful gardens, i am truly inspired and wish I could have some of these varieties in my collection. Please let me know the best medium for growing these plants, cheers and thanks again for sharing🙌🏽👌👍

The best medium is wood chips, not saw dust because that will hold too much moisture. Thanks for watching,

I love those bromelaids I didn't realize there were so many different ones. Can you tell me what the plant medium is in which it is planted in. Saskatchewan Canada 🇨🇦

Hi Nancy, seeing as bromeliads are mainly epiphytes, we use chipped wood. It's fast draining so moisture will not settle on the roots. Bromeliads get most of their nutrients from the cups on top rather than their roots. The roots in nature are mainly used as anchors to secure it to other objects. We will put up a video of the potting medium in the future.
