  • Moruga is said to be the place where Christopher Columbus landed when he discovered Trinidad, so much history and culture. We visited Moruga this week for the first time and were led to a home, a humble home with love, smiles and a warm embrace. The home of a mom and and daughter that took their passion of bromeliads to a whole different level. Join us as we continue our journey on episode #4 of "My Garden, My Home"

    Hi! Totally amazing plants. Really feeling the Pitch black and the Bright pink Neon. The owner really knows what they are doing. You mentioned fertilizing...can one liquid fertilize or do you only use slow release. Can you recommend a liquid fertilizer that can be used? Thanks.

      Thank so much, I have a friend who used orchid fertilizer (liquid), he says it works brilliant. However we prefer a 13:13:13,slow release. Multicote or ozmocote is fine

    Can you tell me what vitamins to use. Thanks

      @gardenscapedesigns  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Osmocote slow release fertiliser works well. Any fertiliser you use ,make sure it's slow release. If it's not ,it may cause the leaves to grow abnormally long and ruin the shape of the brom.

    Hi ! What type of fertilizer to use? Where do you apply it ? In the cup or substrate? The substrate that to be use have to be wood chips only? Thanks and very beautiful bromeliad

    • @gardenscapedesigns
      @gardenscapedesigns  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A slow release granular fertilizer like multicote or osmocote. Do not put it in the cups, the substrate is where it goes. As long as its fast draining and non-toxic, it should be good to pot the plant in. However wood chips are the most common medium. If it's a terrestrial bromeliad, then it can go in well draining soil.

    • @gardenscapedesigns
      @gardenscapedesigns  ปีที่แล้ว

      There are full sun and partial sun varieties, but even with the full sun, you will need to acclimate them to the sun. On our Facebook and Instagram pages, search for Gardenscape designs and Gardenscapedesigns81, respectively. You will see videos detailing how to acclimate.
