It's probably OK if packaged water is backing up (though it might mean he forgot to connect a belt and isn't getting full fuel output); he doesn't have smart splitters and wasn't using a balancer, so it's probably just some belt getting higher input than consumption. As long as the other belts have sufficient input, it shouldn't back up outside of that one belt and the packagers that feed it. The empty canisters backing up are going to ruin some portion of the fuel production, though.
@@eiersandwitch That's just so that power that could have been left in the PSU can't short circuit anything. And also, that's actually a great idea imma do that

The ratio of refineries making diluted fuel, to packagers making water, to packagers unpackaging the fuel is 1:1:1 so I prefer to make little self-contained units of those trios and that way you just need to pie the Heavy Oil and Water in, and the fuel out.

I've yet to see any players take advantage of the fact that blueprints save item contents! You can preload those canisters in the blueprint! Not sure if that is all that helpful but I'm sure there is a handy use case!
I find it really interesting to see how other people solve the same problems. I combined the packing and unpacking for diluted fuel into one blueprint since the ratios for the recipe is 1-1-1 with the machines. That way I didn't even have to worry about managing the canisters.
That's genius, ima keep it in mind once I start my next powerplant Edit: I built some designs for this, found out if you place the Empty Canisters in the Water Packager it saves with the Blueprint so I won't have to fill every block to get the system running
I managed to find out that was the right ratio but still for some reason put all the empty canisters onto a few main belts. But in my Update 8 and 1.0 saves I managed to get far enough to unlock and utilize the diluted fuel recipe in the blender before bothering with the packaged fuel.
@@ashenlion805 But you need tier 7/8 for that which makes it come after you need the turbo/fuel generators and right as you can start preparing for nuclear. It's a good recipe for plastic/rubber production though
Note: don't use large manifolds in systems which require packagers, the delay between canister use and recovery increases exponentially with manifold size, this is why you need multiple lines (manifolds) wth multiple leader belts. - the math is just adding layover and use time for each machine (including packagers) and the time it takes for items to accumulate in the mid-to-end most machine.
That's why you would want a small storage for a few hundred surplus canisters both before and after. It's the same issue people end up with flow rates on pipes. You need capacity to adjust for fluctuations. Simply put some sections run out before they can resupply if you prevent former you prevent the latter. For pipes put a tank at the end of the line and let it get up to capacity. If it's not filling past a certain level your issue is headlift not flow rate

Kibz, if you need a good idea for sorting many belts of a single item, use factorio since they have a blueprint book for sorting belts, yes its a different game and mechanics but you should be able to get a very good idea to evenly sort 10 belts into 10 belts, or even 8 or other odd numbers, like 7, ew 7
Yo Kibz, Work out how many fuel generators you need to run just the fuel production machines, and then setup an isolated power grid that's JUST the fuel production system and enough power to run itself. Then have all the other generators connect to the external power grid. That way, if something goes wrong elsewhere in the world the power plant can keep running even if the rest of the world grid crashes :) Plus if something goes wrong (nuclear power plant style) it's an isolated system to troubleshoot without needing to worry about the external world grid pushing up the power requirements of restarting

Kibs is doing all sorts of crazy stuff meanwhile im still using 1 impure iron ore node for my entire base whilst exploring ive not even got foundations down for stuff its just grass
Hey Kibitz, There is apparently a (probably new?) alternate recipe you would for sure love, because it converts heavy oil residue into turbo fuel using compacted coal... So it would effectively remove the entire packaged fuel step... Tho, I can't tell if it would have a higher, similar or lover production rate as the setup you use.
Man I really find it icredible how much you guys work to make those factories. I can barely play this game for an hour a day without wanting to kill someone xD
I did 70 gigawatts in 3 days on diluted fuel (without turbo fuel), this time I'll wait until the mixers, because what 30 unpackers/packers and ≈16 cleaning plants do can be done by 10 mixers, without all this fuss
I did the same in the same place. But I made each canaster/packing beld a closed loop. So 8 packagers, 8 refineries and 8 (un)packagers. So no back up problems.
I just finished a smaller scale version of this earlier today (I only used 1200 oil and pulled the residue solely from Plastic/Rubber creation) and it was the biggest, most complicated thing I've made in the game. This is, as always, damned impressive.
If you upgrade to rocket fuel using this setup, you can turn the local 2550 crude oil into 9444.4 rocket fuel. That can then run 906 fully over clocked fuel generators for 566,250 mega watts. It is just going to add another 944.5 nitric acid to the production chain.
I held off on my turbo fuel factory until I had blenders unlocked. There is a blender version of the diluted fuel recipe that cuts out the canisters. It takes 50 heavy oil residue and 100 water per minute to make 100 fuel per minute.
I was playing this for the first time and following along with this series, I'm not sure I can follow this from just the glimpses in this half hour video lol
It just looks so much better when you build it compared to my gray Brick (without the further sulfer node). But one small Tipp for you in case you haven't figured it out yourself by now, you should realy try the new and improved radartowers.

Build even more batteries, early!!!! While the plant has this surplus. So, You have an even bigger window of time, in case You need to take a section offline to rework or address issue.
What I do now is once I get the frackers for the oil wells I'll use all 2,700 of that oil to feed my blend turbo power plant and I use the byproduct resin to make fabric rubber and plastic and by doing that I get 300pm of each one so by the end it's all nice and even no wonkie decimals
I was sinking 120 packaged water from my aluminium water by product. I then added it to fuel, sank the empty containers and enjoyed a extra 1 Gw of power.
The way I like to handle power storage is with 2 seperate battery setups. I put them both behind power switches so they don't drain when I don't notice. The first system is backup power. This is used commonly when I need to jumpstart a new power plant or if I’m having an issue with my power plant The second set of batteries is emergency power. Thankfully ive never had to use it but I have gotten close to running out so its reassuring knowing there is a second set of batteries.
I power rushed Rocket Fuel and all the alternate recipes to optimize it. Using those recipes, you can turn 600 oil into 2,400 Rocket Fuel which can power hundreds of fuel generators and produce over 140,000 MW of power. I currently have mine producing 85,000 MW and bottling the rest to be used by Drones.

finally, my top 15 favourite factorio youtuber of 2022 uploaded
Kibz, if you need a good idea for sorting many belts of a single item, use factorio since they have a blueprint book for sorting belts, yes its a different game and mechanics but you should be able to get a very good idea to evenly sort 10 belts into 10 belts, or even 8 or other odd numbers, like 7, ew 7
i will forever be confused how people get these going, good stuff! i can only aspire to this haha
Omg that lock then arrow keys to move build is a banger tip.
Yo Kibz,
Work out how many fuel generators you need to run just the fuel production machines, and then setup an isolated power grid that's JUST the fuel production system and enough power to run itself. Then have all the other generators connect to the external power grid.
That way, if something goes wrong elsewhere in the world the power plant can keep running even if the rest of the world grid crashes :)
Plus if something goes wrong (nuclear power plant style) it's an isolated system to troubleshoot without needing to worry about the external world grid pushing up the power requirements of restarting
From the forest biom, you have to go wayyyy Northeast to get the pure sulfer nodes. But you have to get buy 2x large spiders. But there is a easy to get to hd by a crystal node
I have to say, I never played Satisfactory, but watching you play it seems very fun and interesting! Very Entertaining even though i have no clue what youre doing!
Kibs is doing all sorts of crazy stuff meanwhile im still using 1 impure iron ore node for my entire base whilst exploring ive not even got foundations down for stuff its just grass
Hey Kibitz,
There is apparently a (probably new?) alternate recipe you would for sure love, because it converts heavy oil residue into turbo fuel using compacted coal... So it would effectively remove the entire packaged fuel step...
Tho, I can't tell if it would have a higher, similar or lover production rate as the setup you use.
if you happen to get the alternate recipe for cloth could use some of that polymer resin to make filters for the gas mask and hazmat suit later on.
4 episodes in and Kibs already has 55k of power up and running. He must have been hungry for 1.0 to really get back into builds like this.
Looks like you can offset stack fuel gens in the BPD. I'm about to try. As long as you use a tower to feed them it'll be space/time saving 👍🏾
Please continue the Satisfactory+ play
He can't. 1.0 killed every mod
Satisfactory+ isn't compatible with 1.0 yet
@@Isuckatgames2too Yea, a good chunk of 1.0 is the ideas in the + mod. Will take some rethinking on the mods part on which way they want to go.
I have been wanting to play satisfactory for 3 years, to hear it's coming to console is extremely exiting.
Kibitz you should do a tutorial series for how you setup but factories like this so quickly
I did the same in the same place. But I made each canaster/packing beld a closed loop. So 8 packagers, 8 refineries and 8 (un)packagers. So no back up problems.
That refinery purple IS The perfect shade
But one small Tipp for you in case you haven't figured it out yourself by now, you should realy try the new and improved radartowers.
anotha KIBZ satisfactory video??? BEEN LOVING all these uploads!!! thanks to the 24hr stream I am sure! thanks for losing your sanity so I can gain happiness watching a whole new playthrough with the kibz himself ❤🤘
Im glad you started another for 1.0
Kibz, Doc Emmett Brown called, he wants his 1.21 Gigawatts back...
Build even more batteries, early!!!! While the plant has this surplus.
So, You have an even bigger window of time, in case You need to take a section offline to rework or address issue.
I can already hear future kibitz looking back and going, " Why did I do this to my salf "
What I do now is once I get the frackers for the oil wells I'll use all 2,700 of that oil to feed my blend turbo power plant and I use the byproduct resin to make fabric rubber and plastic and by doing that I get 300pm of each one so by the end it's all nice and even no wonkie decimals
Whenever you have to deal with weird numbers you could simply use manifolds. That way the system can only take what's needed.
Thankfully ive never had to use it but I have gotten close to running out so its reassuring knowing there is a second set of batteries.
you can get an alternative recipe for the blender that is diluted fuel, it is the same numbers as the packaged one u use but without the packaging
26:50
Nappa - "Vegeta! What did you say his power level is!"?
Vegeta - "ITS OVER 9000!!!!!
Congradulations, Pioneer, you've retrofitted an extraterrestrial pocket dimension for bigger pockets.
TURBBOOOOO FUEEELLL Just got my 80 plants online... of course you went WILD hahah EPIC MAN!
8:21 ah yes the spreadsheet this is when things get extra serious
You can make the diluted fuel in a blender which eliminates the trouble with the packaging.
Kibitz.... You should be a petroleum engineer... It's right up your alley
What a lunatic.. But he is our lunatic, incredible work brother! Was awesome to see the behind the scenes on your twitch!
