Inside on the left side by glove box just make sure whatever is above it is not metal otherwise it can affect the signal 👍🏾💯
Hi, I have identical removal keys to yours however they don’t have the cut out in the middle of the key like ones you’re using. Is this a problem? I have an Audi A1 2015. Thanks
Yes its a problem, you need to get the exact one for it to be removed properly otherwise you could damage the latches

Hey I'm looking for a touchscreen version and you linked the head unit in your description is it harder to install than the one you're showing in this video?
It’s actually more simple than the installing the MMI box because you wouldn’t need to splice the cd box or if you need a hand with installation message me on instagram @carlisonit 👍🏾💯
@@CARLISONIT well that's good news the only thing I don't get with the display is the wifi thing. Do I need to put a sim card in there or does it work with Bluetooth from my phone only too?
@@NinaL.29 you can hotspot the headunit with your phone which means to share your internet with the device, that way you can use the internet on the headunit also you can get a sim card to plug into the unit so that you always have internet however it’s not necessary. I prefer to hotspot the headunit with my phone with wifi to connect to TH-cam.
@@CARLISONIT okay last question sorry 😅 what about apps like maps and Spotify does the display itself need internet for that while my phone is connected?
@@NinaL.29 that’s the purpose of apple Carplay it pulls the apps from your phone and displays it on the screen via Bluetooth, it’s the most efficient and safer way of staying connected without having to look down at your phone screen whilst driving 👍🏾💯
Where does the unit get its 4G internet access? Do yo need a sim for the unit or does it use a paired phone?
The unit uses the Phone’s data when it’s connected to bluetooth 👍🏾💯

is the screen slightly out of alignment? looks like it cuts off the bottom of the screen?
It was the camera angle when I took the photo/ video, things don’t always appear 100% in videos as opposed to seeing it in person👍🏾💯

What if I don’t have steering wheel controls
You need to get steering controls added as you need to click speaker button on steering wheel to switch to carplay/ android auto mode, this will be costly as you need to get a new steering wheel and have it coded, or you can opt for a bigger screen upgrade which will be cheaper overall 👍🏾💯 - www.lionzdealz.com/product/audi-a1-q2-apple-carplay-android-auto-car-stereo-headunit-bluetooth-touchscreen-radio

Hi Carl - I just watched this looking for clues as to why my battery has drained totally a couple of times since this installation (plus a reversing camera) was done for me recently by a local car audio fitter. My car is a 2017 Audi A1. The AA (first time) told me the battery was unserviceable and sold me a new one (right spec) and second time told me the alternator was fine and the battery fine but is being drained intermittently by SOMETHING! It may be an unrelated fault, of course (which is what the local fitter reckons) but there’s a lot of wires in your video and I’m wondering if an obvious or probable solution springs to mind? Excellent vid btw!
@@Bertiesclipsandditties Hi, do you have anything plugged into your 12v port (cigarette lighter) also what type of reverse camera did they use, also I’m not sure how they would have wired it sounds like a parasitic drain possibly with how they wired the reverse camera. I’ve wired reverse camera for a customer of mine with an audi a1 (video coming soon) she’s had it for a long time and had no issues 👍🏾💯
