  • In this video I explain 5 things that I hate about my car; the Audi A1 S-Line Style Edition! In all honesty, there aren't any major issues with the car, but I thought I'd give you guys an insight on what bugs me after living with the car for nearly a year now.

    Great little car, we have one too.
    1- All sporty cars are firmer, to help plant them to the road
    2- Yep, our windows stick too, thought it was where had been sat for a while between owners
    3 -No issues, with playback, or phone connecting.
    4 - We just use the old fashioned petrol gauge, and seldom let it go to the "please refuel stage"
    5 - Most in built sat nav, are no where as good as a dedicated sat nav such as TomTom.

    1- Agreed S line is stiff with the 18s.. I luckily live in a town!
    2- my windows always stick but never are stuck solid!
    3- Mines been fine!
    4- 1.4 185Tfsi I get 45mpg on motorway and like 19-25 in town! My Fuel also goes down so quick in the last 30 miles!
    5- Sat nav is decent but WAZE is so much better I use!
    I love my A1!

    the sticky window issue is solved easily by cleaning the somewhat sticky rubber with a proper interior or rubber cleaner and a soft cloth, and then add some silicon based rubber and plastic care product. i use 3D magic blue, and I have to apply it like 1-2 times a year. no problem

    Hi mate, having had my A1 S-line (style edition 😜😂)for about 1 month now I agree with everything you say! However the ride quality is nice with stiffer suspension because it feels pointy. A couple other issues I’ve noticed is if you accelerate hard, gear changes from 1st to 2nd isn’t very smooth whatever you do, have you noticed that? Another thing is visibility in the rear! Love it though and I don’t think there’s a better car for the money 😍

    I was thinking of getting this as a first car (I seen your other video aswell). Was wondering with a budget around 10,000+ do you reccomend the Audi A1 over its rivalries in the same price category? Also is it worth getting if you go for anything other than the S-Line? And how is the bass (Man loves music init.) Sorry for the long comment, great video

    • @DmitriyDranko
      @DmitriyDranko ปีที่แล้ว

      @urwyll9957 Nope, ended up with a Renault Megane GT-Line 1.5L Diesel 2014. It cost 10,450€ at the time with only 44,000km. Still driving it and I love it. I installed an android head unit touch display and added some ambient lighting :)

    • @DmitriyDranko
      @DmitriyDranko ปีที่แล้ว

      @urwyll9957 Mainly the price to size ratio. I sat in the back of an Audi A1 and it was very cramped. I usually travel with others to go hiking etc.
      I would go for an Audi A3 instead if the budget allowed.
      Also, I wanted to have apple car play, android auto, and reverse camera, and watching videos of the head unit replacement for the Audi A1 looked extremely difficult.
      Mainly this. I also heard that the Audi would be more expensive to repair, and I thought alternatives like my car, the Polo etc. would make more sense as a first car.
      But, my friend owns an A1 and she loves it so, do what you think is best!
      If you won't have the back seats occupied often and you don't mind more expensive repairs (the cost we pay for brand), then go for it!

    Thanks so much for this. I noticed the fuel situation quite suddenly the very first time I drove the car 10 hours home from where I bought it. I haven’t tried the navigation system yet, I’m using Google maps.
    I’m thinking it’s because the petrol tank is an unusual shape and that’s why the sensor isn’t behaving reliably. It’s a very small car.

    Any tips, im considering buying an A1, a VW scirroco or a BMW 1 series and im not sure which would be cheapest, which would be the best and which would be the lowest to insure. The BMW has the largest engine whereas the other 2 i think can be 1.4 litre and the A1 less. Im looking at getting them second hand and hopefully aroun £7000-£9500 and i was wondering if you had any tips, especially with buying an A1?

    Interesting, I took a hard look at the A1 when looking a newer car (I love Audi and the price point was at a good point at the time) I really didn't like the Audi. I felt like it was too stiff for what it was, the seating was never perfectly comfortable, and actually felt tight, along with the entire interior. The 1.0 engine was a nightmare, with the 1.4 being better but still not perfect especially with the box it was fitted with. The sat nav was horrendous ( I fully agree), and finally it wasn't great at speeds about 100 kph, it felt sluggish and not as composed as I would expect a car like this to be.

Looks great but as you say the ride quality is terrible, my dad's 2001 Honda Fit isn't any worse in terms of ride quality. Pre-covid it cost me about £45 to fill up, now it's around £55, and insurance about £1200 for me with a few years experience as just a named driver, probably £1500-£2000 for a first time driver

    Audi should have recalled all the A1's with the sticking window rubber. The rubber material used was not fit for purpose. Its not normal or acceptable. The harsh ride of Audi's sports suspension isn't compatible with the current state of most UK B roads. Avoid it if you live anywhere rural.

    Car manufacturers seem to think S stands for sport but it actually stands for shit on most of their models
    Audi bmw etc think that stiff suspension is better which couldn't be further from the truth especially when driving in the uk
    EVER bmw and audi I have owned (quite a few) I have changed the suspension and anti roll bars to make them handle properly it is a total joke and don't even get me started on rear open differentials, electronic steering etc
    Most of the m sports and s lines are just a badge to pick up the kids from school and look better than the other tossers but in reality they are a million miles away from being the ultimate driving machine
