      Thanks! Glad you like the stereo. Yeah, I've seen some others, but they seemed to look a bit more of a bodge job. I mainly made this one for podcasts and audio books, rather than music. I'm sure I could attach some external speakers and increase the power in the future though. Maybe that will be something to do when I get a bigger workshop!

      @@AndreTKemp I am making kinda the same sound sistem but I have a little problem,I don't have a 10A power supply and I don't know if a computer power supply can provide 10A. Maybe you can give me some advices?

    • @AndreTKemp
      @AndreTKemp  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gosh, I'm actually not sure if a computer power supply would be sufficient. Is it definitely a 10A supply that you need? You can find a link in the video description to the power supply I used in this build if that helps? 😊

    • @nvcncs
      @nvcncs 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AndreTKemp I definitely need a 10A power supply,my 3.6A power supply can't keep up with the amplifier.
      Voltage x Amperage = Wattage
      12V x 10A=120W
      I have 3x50w speakers and a 50w subwoofer so I need a 10A power supply to get at least 120W out of my speakers,I currently can up the volume to 30% If I go more than that my speakers start clipping and making weird noises,I tested my car stereo with a a car battery (12v 10A) and had no problem with the volume at 100% my speakers worked just fine.
      The problem is that I can't carry around a car battery where ever I need It,I want to make a portable system with the head unit and the subwoofer in the same enclosure and the other 3 speakers In individual enclosures so I need a slim power supply That I can embed In the main enclosure
      P.S be careful,If you input more than 10A In the head unit you will blow up the fuse and potentially destroy the unit

    Can you not attach a car airel outside onto a metal support and plug into the car raido but using a seperate earthing wire runing from the metal support to the back of the radio chassie . There possibly a screw with a nut on it.

    It looks like you have the antenna mounted directly to the mesh. Isn't the mesh grounded through the radio mount bezel? That would be effectively shunting any rf signals to ground. I don't think powered antennas like that... lol. You may need to try isolating the shaft of the antenna from ground and see if that helps. (provided the powered antenna module is ok yet) Otherwise... nice looking unit you have there. It was fun watching the metalwork being done. GL!

      I'm pretty sure you're right. the Antenna is grounded by mesh -> radio bezel -> radio -> 12V -> 240V. As you said I try to lift the antenna off the bezel and see what happens. Good idea.

  • @sivagurunathann8327

    Extend the antenna to outside the garage by connecting a 1 sq mm copper wire. And see the difference.

    • @paulstewart7999

      The indoor aerial was an aerial that sat on top of the cars body.. used that before i got my big 18ft one... the cb was 12volts... ran it from a mains converter.... you tried buying a hi-fi aerial... connect that up to it? Im no election... but i know how to set most electronics stuff up with in reason... and i was 13 at the time when used my cb radio.... but it should be the same as a normal car radio... bigger the ground better
