I did the same trick on my Bose 500 surround speakers with 2 socks before re-calibrating. Now it is way way better and makes obvious difference. Before it was so silent and could barely hear them and even thought they’re not functioning that made me decide to buy this 700s. But luckily I checked again here and found this. Thank you for the tip! Now I don’t have plan to change it. Because now I could set the surround to 60% which is way way better than before that was set to 100%

Looks like the Bose Surround 700 power adapter outputs to regular speaker wires. Have you tried connecting them to a different (non-bose) speaker? I would imagine a larger speaker would be more efficient, i.e. louder.

Yes l have tried to cloth trick and it seems to work, l have recently brought a new Samsung TV with e arc and the sound from the sound bar and rear speakers sound 100 percent better e arc seems to have done the trick, still not worth the money

I had the same problem with my omnis when I hooked them up. It took about a week for them to completely open up on their own. I didn't do anything except let them play and I them set at eighty because that is loud enough.

Youve obviously havent herd anything else, my yamaha system blows buddys bose lifestyle 5000 dollar surroud away for 1/4 of what he paid for the grossly overhyped overpriced unit. bose blows...
@@bradhuskers Speak for yourself, has a lifestyle bose that i paid almost 3 grand for from a buddy, and compaired to my 2500 dollar yamaha system, that bose is junk, no dolby atmos, no treble, and runs out of power fast when turned up no poor dynamics, the yamaha is superior in sound quality and surround steering not to mention dynamics, your just a tool and obviously biased..

Had a set of these, was very dissapointed in the sound considering how grossly expensive they are, bought a complete yamaha system for a quarter of what i paid for the bose(blows) system and it sounds way clearer, louder, way better seperation, and just superior sound..
I felt the same way to until I heard them in my friends house. Once you set them up the right way they blow really good. I dont know why Bose made this so hard to set up. Go in Reddit you’ll see all the tips and tricks on how to make it sound amazing. I watched the new top gun on my full system and man sounds like you’re right next the the plane. Enjoy your new system though 😊
