SmallRig keeps showing the love. Thanks for another handsome video. Definitely gonna get me a v-mount with the USB-C output. Only way to power my FX30 externally.
Hey Mark, I've been doing a bunch of reading recently as I prepare to kit out my new FX30 and I have a question that you might have some insight on. I plan to power the FX30 with one of those new Small Rig VB99 batteries, which I will mount on their V-Lock battery plate with rod clamp and then either use the Kondor D-tap to USC-C, 8V DC to USB-C or Dummy FZ100 to D-Tap. I would like to also duplicate this solution and utilize either the D-Tap to USB-C or 8V DC to USB-C cables to power the ZVE-10, but I am concerned about the amp draw. Do you know if the USB-C input on the ZVE-10 will regulate either the D-Tap or 8V DC coming from the VB99? Should I instead utilize a FW50 dummy to D-tap? Given that in a previous video you powered the ZVE-10 via USB-C connected to a NP-F interface with a large NP battery I'm hoping I can go something similar with the VB99, as I'd really like to own several of those with the plate/cables combo to power several similar but different cameras that way on a shoot. But I don't want to blow anything up. Thoughts?
I wouldn’t do the dtap right to the USB-C for the zv-e10 but you won’t need to. The smallrig batteries have USB ports that will output the 5v the zv-e10 needs. You don’t need to run through the dtap
Hey mark, I'm all about cinemagraph and I'm going to buy a camera to do professional work. I'm stuck between Lumix s5 and Sony a7iv, which one do you think I should get?. Actually, my heart is sony, but I don't know if the rolling shutter problem and the image are caused by the sensor, but I can't be sure because it doesn't feel cinematic. "I apologize for the use of translation, there may be nonsense and inverted sentences"
the s5 is overall a better video camera except that it has a major problem - autofocus. the Sony A7iv autofocus is perfect. There are more lenses to choose from with Sony too. you can definitely make the Sony look cinematic. just shoot in log and colour grade. The S5 is amazing, but you have to manually focus all the time - and that can be very difficult and time consuming if you have moving subjects. the rolling shutter is fine on the A7iv - but the s5 is a bit better. You’ll only notice rolling shutter is panning fast and filming things like race cars.
Good video again 👍 I just can’t look past it’s horrible rolling shutter (sorry if I’ve mentioned it loads before haha). Great camera though apart from that 👍😊 Have you seen the new Samsung V-AF cine lenses? Thinking of starting with the 35mm with my new A7Siii which I should have before the end of the year
i saved this video for almost 6 months while slowly building my rig. Just came back today and laughed my ass off. Funny dude haha :D
That small rig tripod is DOPE!!!
it’s so great
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis any drawbacks? This looks a solid option for the price
you can’t adjust the tension of the fluid head - but for the price - I wouldn’t expect it. it’s a steal.
Need to get one soon
Thanks for the video, man! Could you do another solid and drop a link to all the cables we’d need for this build?
The cinema is ours.
oh the cinema is ours, my friend. it also produced great Toneh
Does the smallrig tripod have a fluid head with adjustable tension for panning and tilting?
Just started checking out your reviews today, you're always humorous yet professional, definitely earned a sub! GOD bless and keep striving!
LOVED your review man it was freakin magnatic!!!! Couldn't afford smallrig just yet but i got a mashup of stuff coming
This with a shoulder mount and handles would be perfect!
You sir are hilarious and I love it
So you get two handles that come with the cage?
This small rig cage combo has a top and side handle yes.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis nice!
I am curious what is the benefit of having a power plate for the vb99 battery? Not enough ports?
basically, yes
Hi Mark, sweet set up! It looks like you accidentally put a link to the tripod twice. Can you update the link for the a7IV cage? Thank you!
Thanks - fixed. There’s also a cheaper A7iv cage if you don’t want that extra handle
4:50 🤣🤣🤣 great video Mark, that quick release plate is what I want/need for my FX30 rig
it’s really convenient
Mind asking if the vnd filter are two Cpl filters came with it and combine into one vnd while using?

yeah - smallrig have been great. very collaborative and everything they send is awesome
loved the video! seems like a great rig.
do you have a recommendation to a video tripod for Dug (ZV-E10)?
I use the same smallrig one because sometimes I put Dougie in his own smallrig puts it!!
Could you tell me more about the tripod? Is it good for filming/following subjects with panning and tilting?
I actually did a whole review of it th-cam.com/video/vIoYtQrJMIU/w-d-xo.html
how long does the battery last?

@Mark Bennett's Camera Crisis you're right, I completely forgot about those usb ports in the VB99. smh.
Your speech cadence sounds exactly like Will Forte.
he’s a funny guy - haven’t heard that before
Love it! 😍

haven’t seen the Samsung ones yet - will look into it
how much is this combined? :)
How much for all?????
can you also make a rig for the fx30?
Yes - I plan on that
Typo in video title
There were 2!! Thanks - not enough sleep
I know I’m not the first person to tell you how much you favor Christopher Nolan🤣
unfortunately I have heard this a bunch. which is why I’m going to get a haircut 🤣
For crying out loud, Mark, you always make me spend money…which I like to do very much.
me too!!
Awesome video. I love that quick release plate system. Will you still be friends with us little guys when you get huge like Peter McKinnon?
At that point I will ONLY be friends with Peter - no one else will be cool enough.
All that stuff to what end? I don't want the attention that kind of rig attracts. Also just to much to carry. Nice presentation on your part!
yeah - this is definitely more for people doing work with crews that don’t mind the attention 🤣
How many person told you Christopher Nolan before me. 😉
a lot - ha
12 inch rails is a far superior band. 9 inch rails is rubbish
Trent Neznor is awesome
