@@CWHobbychannel The motor isn’t tired… lol. It has around 70k being a swap motor. In this video, the VVT actuator wires were cut and the exhaust had a hole. These were fixed since and I will do another run soon. Fixing the VVT alone made the performance increase
This car isn’t on the GMT platform that’s a truck platform. But the transmission in this car was also in a few others. The Lucerne, DTS, just to name a couple. They are not geared for acceleration as you can see but they are a good cruising car and don’t demand high rpm for that.
I had a 3.5 v6 for years ! Loved it but after 4 transmission rebuilds I had to sell it 211 hp 214 Ft lbs torque it was punchy def had power but acceleration was best on the hwy mashing it at 70 ! Lol
This is too long, it would be more perfect if you used a 5 speed transmission, this is clearly visible if the 4 speed is very long, very slow, which I'm sure will feel less powerful after 4th gear at high speed, there is no more power
lol im pretty sure you already stated that in a previous impala video. i guess you really wanted your point made. yea these transmissions are just a repurposed 4l60e twisted and shoved into an FF layout. tragic performance and reliability. but its a good cruiser.
The motor seems tired. These usually run a bit quicker

gears are way too long. what is this a 3spd?
@@75sExtras It seems like it lol. It’s a 4 speed 4t65e transmission
Were GMT transmissions always this bad? Sorry, I don't know much about GM transmissions. It would be nice if someone could explain this to me.

@@Video-co1eu luckily I don’t really concern myself with power and only wish for a decent cruising car. At highway speeds it floats along quietly.
That transmission is awful. Terrible gearing.
