Did it to my Impala. Dual Flowmasters. Mine has the 3.6 though and they aren't as loud as these old pushrod 3.5 and 3.9's. I'm thinking of chopping the mufflers off all together.
Had a 2011 silver Impala LT 3500. And I gotta say it was reliable AF. Not gonna say it’s fast but for a full size sedan she holds her own. And ofcourse I chromed it all out (Mesh Grille, Handles, Chrome rim covers, Chrome pillars. 10% tint all around and windshield 5 strip). I loved it 120K miles. Got rid of it at 160K Avg 27ish mpg if I didn’t keep my foot in the pedal.
What😂😂😂 Okay I found one person in a forum talking about using LS1 pistons and using 5.7 inch rods which are shorter than stock, however I don’t know where you get that this engine has 250hp stock, and it’s not just being a hater lol I wish they had 250hp I have a 2008 impala and I love it the engine has 245k miles and still runs strong

3.9 impalas have 233 hp stock, and I also find it impossible for you to even be close to beating an LS4 impala. I’ve owned all 4 of them the 3.5 3.6 3.9 and 5.3. And I can say the only quick ones are the 3.6 and 5.3 which both have 300hp compared to the 3.5 or 3.9
You ever come up with a solution? I know they high pitched. I've heard the 3.6 w/ about every exhaust combination out there. With and without resonator, straight pipe, third cat delete, magnaflow cat back, muff delete. None of them sound good. Seem the stock sound the best. Quiet. Although I heard one all stock except two either 40, 44 or 50 series flowmasters. Low grumble at by idle. Sounded nice under hard acceleration. Not high pitched, rattlely, raspy or loud inside car. Just throaty. I say leave the resonator on these car to avoid drone.
@@Justafeller best thing I've seen so far for a deep sound on these engines is either Flowmaster 50 or Flowmaster hushpower. Even then at higher rpm they still kinda tinny

I wish my 3.6 in my 2012 was half as throaty sounding. Even though it makes alot more power than the 3.9 they are way to high pitched
The 3.9 makes 22 more hp than the 3.6 and is .6 seconds faster 0-60.
@@SaintLoue28 your thinking of the 3.5 it makes 211hp the 3.6 is a dual overhead cam 24 valve v6 that makes 302hp

From the video no they cut out old mufflers added new....If you don't need pass emissions cut it all out 2.5 to 3inch all the way out to mufflers
