@@LIFEOFSTUFFEDANIMALS Volvo. Three lane highways are supposed to be pass|pass|travel But for some reason, people have the belief that the center is the travel lane, the left lane is for anything above 65mph, and the right lane is for anything below 65mph. This is why you’ll see cars in all three lanes virtually pacing each other. TLDR; drive in the right lane unless you need to pass someone
Regarding the FL5's noises, I couldn't agree with you more. It's a modern four-cylinder turbo. It's never going to sound great, so why spend time and money making it noisier, when it's not an inspiring sound? Pulling fuses, deleting resonators, swapping exhausts? What does it net you? The same basic sound of a vacuum cleaner, only slightly louder and dronier, with a potentially invalidated warranty. Why bother? I also agree with you regarding a lack of desire to add power. Again, this is not the car for that sort of thing. Too much power with FWD is an exercise in the law of diminishing returns. For most people, it's strictly bench racing. Bragging rights. They can't actually use that additional power to any worthwhile effect, especially on the street. No matter how much power you give a Type R, it's still going to get smoked in a dig by any equally powerful AWD car, and most RWD cars. Once it's up to speed, the additional power no longer matters. That chassis with the stock power already allows for speeds far in excess of what most street drivers can manage, and track/autocross drivers are going to invest their money in braking, cooling, grip, and handling, not straightline speed. The car is damn good, stock. It will never be a muscle car, but then a muscle car will never be a Type R.
Good thing nothing you said is a fact and is all subjective. I seen wayyy too many type R’s pushing over 450hp on FBO’s nd even like my Si it sounds very good for a 4 banger so you just talking shit . This why I tell ppl do what you want to do ; listening to ppl is by far the worst thing u can do eveeybody has a different opinion !
@@Jmarzx "Sounds very good for a 4 banger." Thanks for proving my point. A Type R pushing 450 hp is just for bench racing, like I said. It'll still get smoked by any equivalent-hp AWD or RWD car, no one on the track cares about the additional power, and no one on the street can make use of it in any meaningful way. That kind of power in a FWD platform Is simply for kids who enjoy obnoxious sounds and like to brag about stupid things. The Type R is perfectly fine, stock. Trying to turn it into something it's not will not make it better. It will only make it more fragile.
Awesome video. That Suburban is SICK. It looks like what could've been an artist's rendition in the 50's of a futuristic car. Amazing. Also, is Tedward getting swoll?? lol Good on ya, man - and as always, thanks for the great videos!!
Here in Europe it is actually mandatory to keep the right most lane at all times. When you want to pass people, you go to the middle lane but then go back to the right immediately after. Passing people from the right is actually illegal and you can get a ticket for that, which apparently is normal in the U.S. to do. The most left lane is only used when there is lots of traffic on the highway, so it's mostly kept empty.
the type R seems to be a great car to explore roads with! 24k miles on my a spec integra and cant wait to put more on this summer! also i have an upgraded rear swaybar on mine and the car loves to rotate haha
Just yesterday when I saw your fresh upload I wondered when are you going to take us back to Garage 42. 😁 Lovely video, nice to see spring arriving. Can't wait for the CLK video. 👀
I feel you on the draw of CA. There are programs I could pursue through work where I could live there on rotation for like a year and honestly that’s so tempting just for the reason of SoCal car culture alone 😩
There's nothing like it. You've got to sacrifice a lot of money (although the cost of living in Mass isn't any better) and the nightmare of how many people are driving in LA
the short amount of time I have spent driving in america, my one takeaway is how fricking short the on and off ramps are. I once had an off ramp that was almost a 90 degree turn. Had to slow down on the highway to like 30mph or something. crazy stuff
I highly recommend Castrol SRF for higher temp brake fluid, never encountered fade with that or needed to bleed after a track event. I’ve run it for multiple track days consecutively while dailying the car. I’m also a big fan of the Hawk DTC-60 pads I used on my Porsche Macan Brembo setup on my GTI which is ironically the same exact pad for the FL5 which I plan on buying soon. Plus both items are available through FCPEuro to utilize their lifetime warranty.
you talking about traffic is my daily drive in Washington, Traffic is far worse because people dont just stay in their line vs changing lanes every 5 seconds to "gain time". Or people just being in a lane that they are going slower then everyone else in.
I passed by you on Hartford Ave right by that Sunoco while you were filming this video--Civic looks great! I also saw an orange Acura RDX a few cars behind you which looked, uh, less great.
The arrow next to the fuel pump icon always shows which side the fuel door is on. Something I have tried to remember, but failed at miserably when I drive other cars.
going to have to ask about the uk silver mercedes clk in garage 42. assuming its not there long term as the car is only 16 and would love to know a bit about the story behind it. cant wait for the video on it
The whole lane etiquette thing only works if EVERYONE follows it like in Germany. If you insist on doing that here to take some principled stance you end up making like a thousand lane changes when you're just trying to chill driving back from work. Obviously I agree you should get over for faster traffic and not get an ego about someone passing you but I'd rather not dart in and out of the slow lane a hundred times or have to constantly adjust my speed for every on-ramp cuz people suck at merging 🤷♂️
@@TedwardDrives. I just finished watching your video. I live in Acton and I always have passed that garage every day to walk my dog. I always wondered what it was, I had NO IDEA it was packed with cool cars! That’s so amazing!
Lane discipline is key. And here in Europe they also start doing this moronic hogging in the middle lane. Middle lane hogging only results in a fine. Crazy! Love your comments 😂 And i would love low gas prices like 4.49 per gal. Here it's roughly doubled.
I wish Honda can make good handling cars as it is with better turning radius. But nowadays a lot of cars have bad turning radius even the BMW 3 series has bad turning radius compared to 10 years ago.
12:38 the merging lane is way too short; the volvo in front of you slowing down is just making situations more confusing for the merging traffic and makes it harder to move left to help merging traffic. it's ten thousand things going wrong at the same time..
Do you find pumped-in noise obnoxious in Sport+? Have you swapped with ITS suspension module? I’m sure you’ve addressed these in the past but I’m new to the channel. Trying to decide between this and ITS in six months or so.
Why do you think you have to go to LA to enjoy the mountain roads and and weather in CA. San Diego, Ventura, San Luis Obispo, Monterey all have great roads and weather without the LA traffic. They are all really expensive but so is MA.
