I saw a red Type R for the first time a couple days ago, great looking car! Wait till you jaibreak the ecu and ad a tune! Turns into a different car!!!
Honda did a great job at keeping the R's character. I'll never forget seeing one of those type-R civics recently, totally caught my eye. Had no idea they brought it back.
i had an integra a spec but i moved to the Type R instead of Type S mainly because the type R seats were better padded and supportive to me. though I do miss the a spec comfort features.

I was willing to do an SI civic as well and even a Type R, but dealer downshot me perhaps because I was in sweatpants despite being able to pay for the car in cash on the spot.... nonetheless. I purchased the Type S Integra 2024 (love it), but was given an Integra Tech Package automatic as a loaner. Woah. I loved that.... I even told myself I would've been okay with purchase of the A-spec 2024 integra. I felt that way until the Type S was delivered to my home by the dealership. Wow. I literally used my 2018 Grand Touring Miata as a cash ball to get the ITS --- Miata is always the answer, and I miss the car -- but this ITS is so much better. I loved your review today and comment at the end.
Thanks! Glad you liked it. Miata is the answer *most of the time* haha. These cars are heavy compared to the old stuff, but they're still so connected to the road.
Love this, the roads look awesome! Agree with your thoughts and sentiments about styling compared to type s. Very curious how they both feel to drive but think they would be enjoyable from your feedback.
I may be the only person who likes the look of the Type R better than the Type S. The Only thing I don’t like about the Type R is the look of the 3 exhaust tips.
I like how the Type R looks more. It looks more fun, less bulky. The ride looks more spirited somehow. However, The Type S does have White seat options and a heads up display, which I don't think the Type R has. It also has the most immersive audio system I have ever heard, im not sure what it is, but it isn't Bose. Whereas I am pretty certain the Type R has Bose, which also sounds good, but the S is on another level. You would almost want to watch a movie on the Type S speakers. Outside of that. The S is quieter, more comfortable, but unfortunately is just more boring to drive. It doesn't feel as tossable. I still overall think the Miata and Porsche are the funnest cars you can drive from a dynamics perspective. They both feel like you are in a go kart almost, it brings the kid out of me. Type R is right up there though. The Supra was the most disappointing. Looks amazing imo, drives like a chunk of metal, which it is, but man, Muscle car driving dynamics are not fun to me. 370z had the same issue. Its like you are stuck going straight almost and the car hates turning.

100% haha. Mostly downshifting for the extra sounds for you guys, but also because I hadn't driven the road in awhile so for some of the corners I was preparing for a tighter/slower turn than it turned out to be. As for power, it's plenty. Keep in mind this road is a steep uphill climb.
I don't know if our roads are smoother or if they changed the suspension configuration, but the R mode doesn't seem 'that' stiff here in Australia. It's definitely not soft, but not horrible, But every video I watch from the US people say it is.
Awesome drive and commentary! I have a question about your "Slow car fast mentality" comment tho. I haven't really driven any recent beasts (2020s high end performance cars), so I don't have a recent/modern frame of reference, but is the type r considered "slow" as far as power goes? I know from a dig fwd holds it back a bit but once its rolling is the scope of my question.

I love the Type R. It's a marvel of automotive engineering. But I can't look past the fact that I'll have to pay my soul for it. That's why I got an Elantra N with a 6 speed. Similar performance for a fraction of the cost (and it actually sounds like a sports car).
