Two week update: Everything good so far. Engine runs more quiet. Too early to tell if the oil consumption still exists. I pumped a half cup of oil out of the pan through the dip stick, both hot & cold. No sign of sludge or debris in the oil. Clear. Clean oil.
Not sure if you’re aware, but these engines may have the same issues are vw/audi engines where the piston oil control ring clogs up with carbon. Look into performing a berryman b12 piston soak to get the oil consumption under control.

I'm pretty sure they have the same problem. Probably why Lucas fuel treatment reduced oil consumption.
