my dad is a pilot (and I've picked up a few things). lightning strikes don't really damage planes because they aren't grounded. they just kinda bounce off. chances are you've been in a plane thats been struck by lightning and haven't even noticed.

The Crow gun incident is actually pretty crazy, there's an old Unsolved Mysteries episode that goes into the chain of events that caused the gun to go off and it also goes into Bruce Lees death too and their family curse. It gets a little supernatural when connecting them, but the gun information is really informative.

Hey, I'm a Cast Member and it has been confirmed to me, that it is still a real skull on the ride.
Here's the full story if you don't know it.
When building the ride, Imagineering was not happy with how fake the skeletons looked. They reached out to UCLA, who provided them with real skeletons. When technology got better and more convincing fake skeletons could be made, the real ones where given a proper burials. The only thing that could not be replaced was the skull in the head piece in the Captain Quarters. That is the only confirmed skull left in the ride.

    Great video guys!
Some additional details on Brandon Lee’s onset death. As Chelsea mentioned, the film’s crew decided to make their own dummy rounds, which normally have the bullet and the casing but no primer and no gun powder, from normal live ammunition. The crew removed the gun powder but not the primer. At some point, this faulty dummy round was placed in a weapon and the trigger was pulled. The remaining primer contained enough force to project the bullet out of it’s casing and lodge it in the gun barrel. Later, this same gun was used to film a shooting scene using blank rounds which contain the primer and gun powder and omit the bullet. The blank round combined with the leftover bullet stuck in the barrel effectively created a live round and killed Brandon Lee.

The examination of the 'Brave Little Toaster' curse was a brilliant example of this phenomenon.
Another factor to consider is that many people who are drawn to the arts struggle with mental health issues like anxiety and depression, which sometimes (but definitely not always!) lead to bad outcomes.

Look at the credits on any movie, see how huge that list is (if you're a marvel fan you've seen a LOT of names), of course someone involved probably died, if not during the movie, sometime shortly after.
It's not a curse, it's just the sad truth that if you take a long enough scope, any story is going to involve death.

I remember seeing the news of Elizabeth O'Rourke's death on the news when I was a kid. I knew about her dying before I knew about what happened to Dominick Dunne.
The earliest celebrity death I remember hearing about on the evening news, though, was Clara Peller. Because the opening statement that the newscaster gave wasn't "Clara Peller has passed away," it was "The 'Where's the Beef' lady has died." In contrast, the opening statement for Elizabeth's passing was "Elizabeth O'Rourke, the little girl known for her work on the Poltergeist series, died earlier today."
Heather's death and Judith Barsi's death are probably two of the most heartbreaking of all time as far as child deaths go.
The first celebrity death that really affected me, however, had to be Jim Henson. That one hurt and I remember how crushed I was when I heard the news.

James Karen was also in Poltergeist and ROTLD both, which makes another fun connection.

House of Wax could be considered cursed on these lists. Nobody died or got hurt, but while filming the movie in Australia, the entire studio got burned down, because they (stupidly) used real fire and real wax. The movie was filmed in 2004 and they were aiming for a Halloween release. But due to the studio burning down, and prolonging filming, it got pushed to May 2005. The only cast members on set were Chad, Elisha, and the actors playing Bo and Vincent. Maybe it doesn't count because nobody got harmed, but it was shocking.

The lore behind Poltergeists is that kids and young adults have a lot of emotion and the ghosts are attracted to that. They feed off the emotions that are all over the place. So that's why kids are the center of a lot of those claims.
