Daan Smallegange he is cool but nobody is Carlito cool only Carlito is Carlito cool even if he is the coolest person in the world nobody is Carlito cool
I feel like Stu Macher from Scream would TOTALLY be an enthusiast. There’s just something in the way that he’s constantly being witty, making jokes, and just acting goofy all the time that makes him seem like one. And then when you find out that he’s completely snapped and has been helping Billy with these ridiculous, cinematic, horror movie-esque murders, it’s just shocking how he still acts the same (cracking jokes, trying to be funny, etc.) but with an insane edge to his actions. Overall, Stu just seems like a number 7 enthusiast to me.
I just wanted to say I was super impressed by this episode! Really interesting and thoughtful discussion. I'm a psychologist so use a variety of personality tools and the Enneagram is my favourite. I've always liked "typing" characters and historical figures for fun - you two did a great job matching the villain to the type!
I liked the thing you said with Rick grimes for type 6's but even better is Daryl. He's always loyale to Rick the entire series and always has his back.
When you talk about type 7s craving new experiences at the expense of everything else, you could maybe put Frank from Hellraiser into that? Margaret White came to mind for 1 along with any other kind of religious fanatic (extending to people like John Doe in Se7en, or even Lord Summerisle in The Wicker Man). Can throw in Mr Human Centipede for mad scientist too.
I loved this episode, so fun to think about this stuff. Here's some characters (mostly villains) I could think of! I got carried away, but what can I say this was a fun idea. Vigilante -- John Cramer was my very first thought, too. But also John Doe from SE7EN, and even the Robots from Chopping Mall (if they count as having personalities?). Evil Nurse -- Eddie's mom from IT and Damien's nanny from The Omen both seem to fit this mold (and both women, again). Also, like every single character in Rosemary's Baby who isn't Rosemary. Her husband, doctor, neighbors... Tyrant -- Damien from The Omen series seems like an obvious type 3. But one I thought of that's a little less obvious was Jeremiah Sand, the leader of the cult in Mandy. He's not quite the traditional, corporate/social climber, but he seems very driven and image oriented, in his own twisted way. Tortured Soul -- I think The Tooth Fairy/Red Dragon kind of fits the Individualist archetype. He isn't as artistically motivated, but he is motivated by a self-loathing and need to become this greater, unique, version of himself. Mad Scientist -- John Hammond and Dr. Henry Wu from the Jurassic Park series. Need I say more? Also, the whole Alien series has a lot of these types in various secondary roles. Like anyone associated with Weyland-Yutani. But especially Weyland himself and David the android. Paranoiac -- (This one is me.) Stu, along with Billy, from Scream. As far as I could ever tell Stu's only motivation for killing people was helping out his friend Billy. You could also, possibly, argue Jason Voorhees prior to Part 6 is acting out of loyalty to his mother, but once he becomes an undead killing machine that kind of goes out the window. Also, I agree with James about Rick Grimes. Party Animal -- I feel like The Strangers like to party hard. They aren't fun like Freddy, but it is their own fun that motivates them. Going out as a group, and not just killing, but toying with their victims just for the fun of it. Plus, the pursuit of their own good time ultimately proves to be self destructive. Psycho Killer -- Major Henry West from 28 Days Later is this type. Military leader, dominating, in control of everything and everyone around him, using it to get what he wants, what he thinks is most important, and killing anyone that might be a threat. Accomplice -- Ok, this one is a little esoteric. But the killer from Opera by Dario Argento. His motivation is that he was pressured to kill women for Betty's mother's enjoyment, but ultimately put a stop to it by killing the mother. At that point, life becomes peaceful and normal for him again for years. But then when he meets Betty as a young adult, he sees her as the return of her mom and snaps and is compelled to recreate his previous trauma, substituting Betty for her mother with the ultimate goal of killing Betty in the end so that he can have peace once more.
i agree with nearly all of these!!! one thing though is that i think rick grimes is almost a perfect example of a type 1. 1s tend to have jobs in law enforcement in some way shape or form and i think he definitely makes decisions and is motivated by his morals. i can see how he might be seen as a 6 but rick has proven many times he will NOT be a ride or die to people he previously had done anything for, like shane and carol
I feel like Norman Bates’ mother would have been the helper type, because of how she protected Norman so closely but also abused and manipulated him. Norman himself would be the loyalist.

I'm type 4, the individualist / tortured soul - I definitely withdrawal from people alot due to my own self conscious thoughts and all together self loathing and it ends up with me being depressed and never imagining a happy life for myself. Also for The Enthusiast, baby firefly is a good example too! 😊
I am going to admit, I burst out half-bitterly laughing when James said he knew who the horror Type 1 was going to be on the negative example listing. (Also, type 8, here, incidentally, and as someone who’s also not normally into personality typing sorts of things but finds the Enneagram fun and interesting, it was fun to see you two make an episode putting a horror-themed spin on it!)
I think Stu from Scream could be type 9 because he’s just going along with Billy and making sure everything goes well and he gets upset when the cops are notified, showing how he doesn’t want to get anybody in trouble.
Type 1 - The Vigilante : Children of the Corn (1984) Type 2 - The Evil Nurse : One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) Type 3 - The Tyrant : Mr Brooks (2007) Type 4 - The Tortured Soul : Se7en (1995) Type 5 - Mad Scientist : Jurassic World (2015) Type 6 - Paranoiac : Massacre at Central High (1976) Type 7 - Party Animal : Natural Born Killers (1994) Type 8 - Psycho Killer : Fallen (1998) Type 9 - Accomplice : Thoroughbreds (2017)
1. Pamela Vorhees, antagonists in the Purge, Michael Myers 2. Mischa Barton's step mum in 6th Sense, Buffalo Bill(?) 3. It, Dutch guy in Hostel 4. Cenobites 5. The dad in Get Out, the Collector 6. The girl in the Ring, Max Cady 7. Leprechaun, Stu from Scream 8. The Hitcher, Jeepers Creepers, Jaws, Terminator 9. Cabin in the Woods employees
I fucking LOVE 8:58 and the few seconds after. I love how quick it happens, James' reaction, and then Chelsea moving RIGHT on like nothing ever happened.
21:30 I was a lot like that, felt like i constantly needed to pick up a new skill then i just couldn't think of anymore i liked. thanks covid for the free time. But lowkey one of the realest things i've heard on the show
I think that Michael Myers works well as a type 8. He’s not necessarily vengeful, but he's strong willed, for the most part gets to the point, and while not necessarily vengeful, he does whatever he can to destroy Laurie's bloodline, destroying others in the process.
First off, I’m a type 7 and that list hit me so hard in the good and sometimes bad categories lol. People never take us seriously and it’s partly our faults. Second of all, loving that IIconics shirt James! Keep on rocking with the lists and podcasts and we’ll be here. As a horror fan first and wrestling fan down the line of fandoms, it’s super refreshing to see and experience everything your channel has to offer.
I think that MacReady (Kurt Russel) from the thing is a good type 6 example, when he finds out that an enemy alien is among his friends he is ready to do whatever it takes to stop the alien and he becomes the leader in the situation
I think Chucky is a little bit like an achiever since his motive for killing is kind of tied to his desire for power. Like Chucky started out wanting to become human again in order to be strong and have power but became content as a doll since he has more opportunity for power. Movies in the later ones like Cult really show how Chucky doesn't care who gets hurt as long as he gains the upper hand and becomes more powerful because of it.
Deadmeat, I just wanted to say that I am so impressed by this video and how you made your Horror character personality test. TBH I figured that you would just be taking several tests pre-made online. I love how you found a personality test with strengths and weaknesses and then matched them to Horror characters that we all know and fear. Way to make it your own!
I think I would put Pamela voorhees in the vigilante category. Even though she was sort of motivated by revenge, but in her brain she thinks they all have to die so that nothing bad will ever happen to any other kid like what happen to her son. In her brain, I believe, she thinks she’s somehow saving other kids from the same fate of Jason’s drowning.
I've commented on a previous podcast video praising these two and their honest dialogue and analysis... this podcast confirms my praise- it's suuuch honest conversation. Chelsea singing Informer lolllll and James sharing his college degree experience... even when I disagree with what either may say, I love hearing it. Please PLEASE do a podcast reviewing 1308
I listened to this when it first came out, fell down an enneagram rabbit hole last year, rediscovered this episode and fell down a whole new rabbit hole lol. My husband is a 7 and I am a 5 and it fits us to a T.
they seem so close. like a relationship that’s meant to be. her laugh sounds so genuine and James is so giggly and himself. he usually shows his comedy in the kill counts, but here u see his emotional side LLJ&C
Did anyone else pause the video to take an enneagram test before continuing to watch the podcast? Edit: 36:26 I think is where the results start to come up my result was type 4: The Tortured Soul My result specifically was 4-7-9 according to the test I took
Airmanon by the types that Chelsea put is; type 5 the Investigator I relate to the character; Hannibal Lecter My own actual quiz results were; 9-4-6 They actually are all how I am it's kind odd.
Pennywise would definitely be your Party Starter. I feel like Pamela Vorhees would be more Evil Nurse. I may be wrong on that but it feels like it works. Seymour from Little Shop of Horrors definitely falls under the Accomplice though.
Hey james just gonna take some to compliment y’all on how professional y’all keep it, and idk y’all are just good people ya know. It’s always nice to see
I fit into 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9. Funny, it’s almost like you can’t categorize a personality based on general traits because each person is an individual and is inherently different from any other. “Oh, you’re such a [INSERT ASTRAL SIGN]!”
Nancy Downs from the Craft is kinda a type 3... I'm a type 5 too! And when Chelsea said "mad scientist" it reminded me of the INTP which is what I am according to the Myers Briggs test! Another person that's an INTP is David Cronenberg and he did the fly... And Seth Brundle from the fly is according to Chelsea a type 5 which matches best with INTP which is David Cronenberg. I'm shook.
Thank you for a super interesting episode! I actually took notes while listening and then went & retold the most salient points to a friend who's studying psychology atm. Anyway, really late to the party, but I wanted to add some characters to the list: 1: The killer in Killer Condom, the cult in The Invitation. They have a sense of higher purpose & they’re taking you with them whether you want it or not. 2: Fatal Attraction? It’s hard to come up with characters for this one. 3: The Nicholas Cage character in Vampire’s Kiss (basically a proto-Patrick Bateman). The cult leader in The Other Lamb; the cult has no deeper meaning and exists just to tickle his ego. 4: The Girl in A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night: she is very isolated and depressed, and secretly very romantic and sensitive. Motivated by her feelings. 5: Dr. Frankenstein (the OG!) 6: Sheriff Brodie in Jaws, Curtis in Take Shelter: pillar of community, protective of his family, super paranoid and anxious. 7: Deacon in What We Do in the Shadows (movie) and Laszlo in the show. Also Dr. Frank’N”Furter (could be a Type 5 “Mad Scientist” but he fits way better here because he’s all about that fun and that sex. All his SCIENCE! is basically to have more sex). 8: RJ MacReady (The Thing), Erin (You’re Next), Quint (Jaws). Natural leaders and “rugged individualists”, very decisive and courageous, but also ruthless and destructive. Primary motivation is to protect. 9: Viago from What We Do in the Shadows: sweet, accommodating, the “mother hen” in his friend group.
The whole time I was like “Leatherface needs to be number 9. Leatherface needs to be number nine,” so when you guys brought it up I literally jumped for joy.
Just wanted to say great videos proud of both of you keep it up also not a horror movie but “I saw the devil” is a great Korean flick to anyone reading this
I've watched it. It's pretty fucked up, but a solid kill-for-revenge thriller. It kept me on the edge of my seat because of the movie's plot and ambience

Fun fact, according to astrology Taurus is least likely to believe in astrology, so that’s a fun coincidence.

But especially Weyland himself and David the android.

they seem so close. like a relationship that’s meant to be. her laugh sounds so genuine and James is so giggly and himself. he usually shows his comedy in the kill counts, but here u see his emotional side LLJ&C
Did anyone else pause the video to take an enneagram test before continuing to watch the podcast?
Edit: 36:26 I think is where the results start to come up
my result was type 4: The Tortured Soul
My result specifically was 4-7-9 according to the test I took
Airmanon by the types that Chelsea put is; type 5 the Investigator
I relate to the character;
Hannibal Lecter
My own actual quiz results were; 9-4-6
They actually are all how I am it's kind odd.
Thanks mate
@@josephharrison992 You're welcome.
Wait where can I take this test? Anyone know?
Mr Krabs : bursts in. Also Mr Krabs : *M’BOY*
Lil bit Freddy lil bit Jason
Lil Draven *half Freddy and halftime Jason
Pennywise would definitely be your Party Starter. I feel like Pamela Vorhees would be more Evil Nurse. I may be wrong on that but it feels like it works. Seymour from Little Shop of Horrors definitely falls under the Accomplice though.
Please do a kill count for misery, it’s such a great horror movie and Annie Wilkes fits that category perfectly!!
Foxy Avocado it's got at least two deaths if I recall correctly, do it could happen
TheWraith Writer yes, although it has a small kill count, it’s still an interesting film to look at, the psychology and the story line is great
I love how Bateman is internally getting off on the sight of the business card but externally he is absolutely shaken and furious!
When someone says "That's so taurus of you" and you respond "No it's not!" .... girl that's textbook taurus behavior
this podcast made me realise i’m not a type 4 like i always thought, but am 100% a type 7. crazy, because they’re so different. awesome episode!!
yay! a podcast i can listen to on my birthday
Happy birthday 🎂🎊🎁🎈
K
Happy birthday
marsclaws happy birthday 🎉
Happy birthdayyyy!!
Im type 9, and as soon as i got that result and read the description i was like oh man im Leatherface forsure 😂
You could argue that Billy Lumis is a type 1 , because of his judging of other characters.
Hey james just gonna take some to compliment y’all on how professional y’all keep it, and idk y’all are just good people ya know. It’s always nice to see
Just got an ad for IT's second chapter...
Can't wait for that!
I fit into 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9.
Funny, it’s almost like you can’t categorize a personality based on general traits because each person is an individual and is inherently different from any other.
“Oh, you’re such a [INSERT ASTRAL SIGN]!”
I should prolly be doing my algebra but cmon it’s James A. Jannise
Alec Edinger dont forget Chelsea, she’s awesome too 😣
Matthew R. Very true
Hey same 😂 who needs math anyway?
Nancy Downs from the Craft is kinda a type 3... I'm a type 5 too! And when Chelsea said "mad scientist" it reminded me of the INTP which is what I am according to the Myers Briggs test! Another person that's an INTP is David Cronenberg and he did the fly... And Seth Brundle from the fly is according to Chelsea a type 5 which matches best with INTP which is David Cronenberg. I'm shook.
My horror characters is
James Charles
@@buildawall5803 no, but for the memes *YES*
I’m type four, think the characters used for this type are perfect for it. Jack is super cool!
I love James's shirt, it's so....IICONIC!!! * strikes pose *
Thank you for a super interesting episode! I actually took notes while listening and then went & retold the most salient points to a friend who's studying psychology atm. Anyway, really late to the party, but I wanted to add some characters to the list:
1: The killer in Killer Condom, the cult in The Invitation.
5: Dr. Frankenstein (the OG!)
6: Sheriff Brodie in Jaws, Curtis in Take Shelter: pillar of community, protective of his family, super paranoid and anxious.
When you’re having a bad day, this couple fixes everything ❤️🖤
Getting my boi Freddy is like, the best feeling, so glad I'm an extrovert 😂😂
And Oogie Boogie?? I am very blessed tonight
I feel like Jason & Micheal would be Type 4: The Tortured Soul and Ash as Type 7: Party Animal
Ash is just so over the top I can't imagine him as anything else
I regret not watching the podcast for so long
I am the truck driver from the texas chainsaw massacre im still running
@Jim brown it was just a little pittstop now im running still
The whole time I was like “Leatherface needs to be number 9. Leatherface needs to be number nine,” so when you guys brought it up I literally jumped for joy.
I love your content, I jump out of my seat when I see you uploaded
In russia, your seat jumps out of you
SpiderJuan D ya like jaz
Blood_men Studios 😏
Lucy is a little goof. Just standing on top of the table, looking at things. Wish I could be that simple with things to do
Carrie's mother is definitely a type 1, @ me
I think Michael is type 4, there's a sadness and creativity to him.
“poor type fours” damn that hurt LMAO
I would be the guy who trips on gravity and falls
-4 Subscribers with a hammer addiction is that a gravity falls joke

Where Memes Come To Die would be a good one though
through my life i've been EVERY single one of these. really makes you remember why you are who you are now.
