  • I wanted to make this video for a while, but I wanted to make sure everything I have been experiencing was part of this car & not a fluke. I did some trial & error over the years & found the car is in fact annoying.

Just connect to bt while you let it warm up or buy one of those aux cord bt connectors. They make special head gaskets for high boost cars with cooper rings around the cylinder walls so you won’t have to keep replacing them if you use one meant for that amount of boost. 700hp Sti’s don’t need six puck clutches. Mines getting built now to make 600hp on a stage 1 twin sprung organic x clutch that’ll feel “like butter” quoted from my tuner and it’s rated for 800hp. My exhaust doesn’t have any cats and it’s a full 3 inch hks hi power exhaust and it’s not obnoxiously loud, the sound is perfect- you can talk without speaking loudly on the highway yet makes a great sound when you get into it. Also my exhaust doesn’t sound as raspy as yours I’m not sure if you have equal length headers or if it’s just because it sounds completely straight piped but it just doesn’t have the quality sound I’m used to hearing. Resonator could fix that but if it’s the equal length headers they really don’t really make a difference. Don’t believe me watch every single episode of engine masters and I’d bet if you swapped to aftermarket unequal length headers it’d make the same hp within 1-2 numbers. Speaker upgrades are the easiest thing you can do to a car but most of the time you want a good aftermarket radio to go with it in order to get the maximum benefits from those new speakers. Not trying to hate just throw out some ideas as to how you could easily fix the things you hate about your subi. My most annoying thing on my sti(2004) is the sound the seatbelt makes when you put it on lol it’s an easy fix but I’m just too lazy and it adds a bit of character so I don’t hate it so much anymore. I just laugh when people put the seatbelt on and give me a funny look.

Your Bluetooth will automatically connect if you use voice commands and you shouldn’t have any problems after. Also you can make your speakers play better by
    1. Turn key to acc (or have car on)
    2. Press power button for radio to off
    3. Hold button 1 and either 2 for sedan, 3 for wagon, or 4 for through mode then press the tune button in.
This changes the speakers tone for your vehicle.
You should be in wagon mode. Also for sedans like mine, wagon mode sounds a lot better.
Not sure if anyone mentioned this before, couldn’t read all comments during my 15min break.

@@TheMXinsidE No, if you use the voice commands it is storing the phone as a "paired device" vs an "audio device." The former will have the phone connect automatically every time you get in and start the car. This is a relatively known thing that is stupid about this HU.

For 15 years all I had was subarus and As much as I enjoyed my 450 whp 2002 wrx and then a 370whp 2017 sti, I had to abort ship and get a GTR, Best move I ever did too, now im making 660whp with just bolt ons e85 and the car drives like a dream, my exhaust is only loud while on boost and the stereo is amazing, I don't have to deal with the extreme HD 6 Puck clutch in traffic, or get locked out of 3rd gear, rattles are still there but not as much as a Subaru and handling is actually better than a 2015+ sti, plus the acceleration is brutal with the DCT transmission, and I don't have to check my oil after every damn pull lol, I don't have many vids but you can check my channel

Here's how to improve stereo sound:
This method will allow you to set your head unit to 3 different modes: sedan, wagon, through mode. The last mode, "through mode" is the one we want. This mode will increase bass levels and overall sound levels by a very noticeable amount.
First turn your car on. While your car is on push your head units volume control dial to turn the radio off.
Next your going to use the numbered quick select buttons on your head unit to access the different modes.
With your radio turned off the first mode (sedan) is activated by holding down the 1 and 2 buttons and pressing the tune dial twice ( like a double click on a computer ). "Sedan" should then appear on your headunits screen. The last step is to turn on you radio again by pressing the volume control dial.
To access the other modes use the same format described above but with the following button combinations:
Sedan mode: hold 1 and 2
Wagon mode: hold 1 and 3
Through mode: hold 1 and 4 (The good one)
Loudness can also be toggled by holding 1 and 6
    Hope this helps.

I got a 2016 sti and the audio is still complete garbage. Sounds like two bluetooth speakers taped to each door. The touchscreen is unresponsive when u turn the car for the first time. The audio also cuts out for a few secs and then comes back. The spoiler also creaks alot. And DCC modes sometimes dont work unless u switch it back and forth until it works. With ac on i feel the car studder under acceleration like its trying to go faster but barely.

Don’t buy the car with the standard stereo then, I had the Nav/entertainment center in mine and it was fantastic. Also I custom ordered mine from factory, waited almost 5 months for delivery and only had it for 18 months cuz it turned into a rattle box. The firewall spot welds holding the clutch pedal on 08-14 models are known to break and result in creak/popping sounds and eventually cant get the clutch working (forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2700583) I thought that would be your point when you mentioned the clutch. And yeah i've had it happen and its just shitty design

Personally, I drive a WRX. 90% of the stuff you "hate" is because of what you did to it. Personally what you did, and what you "hate" is fine for me. Not trying to throw shade at all, but you could've easily not done what you did and you'd love it.

    • @SuBros760
      @SuBros760  5 ปีที่แล้ว

Omg car is rn being built for around 600 but I absolutely can't believe your car is that loud with a q300. I have muffler deletes on rn and was thinking about the r400 but this is making me think I'll need more. I have a 15+ though so they tend to be quieter on the inside for whatever reason but that doesnt mean fuck all if outside its alerting cops for miles.
